  1. Weird! I felt awful yesterday - queasy stomach, headache, achy bones and joints. I finally gave up and came home from work about 4:00. I still have a bit of the headache today but the stomach issue seems to be gone. Hope your grandson feels better soon!
  2. Atlanta is pretty much broke. They've got to come up with ways to make $$$$.
  3. I agree with you on so many points to your post. My opinions of how much a government should be able to "interfere" with a citizen's day to day life tend to lean towards the "as long as what you do doesn't hurt someone or doesn't infringe on their rights" then fine. However, I think that it was correct of the City of Marietta to ban smoking in their public park. Smoking around others, oftentimes those who have made a conscious decision to not smoke for health reasons, could hurt those people. I'm a former smoker and would never smoke around people who minded or in public places that
  4. I voted Yes on driver's ed, all new drivers should have it, it should be up to the driver to pay for it. I don't think that driver's education should be offered as a high school course. It's hard enough for students to acquire the credits they need to graduate and go on to college and/or the "real world" as it is. Also, school systems are struggling mightly with funding. How would schools fund driver's education? It is my most humble opinion that if you have a teenager you want to drive, you as the parent should be responsible enough to teach said teenager to drive and ensure that driver's
  5. If I were a monkey, I would be offended. Monkeys could have written a better stimulus bill than what was passed. I'm not sure what all the hoopla from the NAACP is about. The President didn't write the bill. Even if the cartoon referred to the President, which I don't believe it did, there were a ton of cartoons portraying President Bush as a monkey. I don't remember anyone getting all offended at that.
  6. We ate at Rodney's tonight and man was it good! The Fried Green Tomatoes are AWESOME!!!!
  7. I'm going to have to bring my old laptop in next Friday when I get my highlights touched up! See ya then Hair Doctor!
  8. Welcome back Amber! I can't wait to see you guys next Tuesday for my new highlights!
  9. Your entire family of Paulding county citizens is thinking of you and praying for you at this time of tragic loss. Our hearts break for you and we lift you up in prayer. May God give you His peace and comfort and may you know that your baby boy is in HIS arms and is safe and secure. Bless you all.
  10. He worked as an AP at Hiram and was at Etowah High School most recently. We got to know him well at Hiram. He was a great man!
  11. You are such a blessing to all that you touch. Thank you for organizing the cards from the drivers and for all that you do for your fellow Paulding Countians. Have a safe, safe trip.
  12. He did work at DES for the past two school years until he went to the Transportation Department. He also coached football adn track at HHS. He is Mel Gibson-ish. Good thing he doesn't think that Jews are the reason for all the wars like Gibson does. I think he's pretty hot myself.
  13. I'm so sorry that he is gone. I know his family must be heartbroken. I bet Dianne was there to greet him with open arms too! Thoughts and prayers for the family and friends. GM, please let us know if the family needs anything at all.
  14. Oh Please let this little boy be ok. I have three sons and I am always worried that something hideous will happen to them. They're all so active and fearless.
  15. We are all praying for comfort for you Don and Trey's wife's family as well. Losing a child has got to be the hardest thing possible for any parents.
  16. Peace be with you and your family at this time. I know that you all gave her great peace on her journey home. I hope that when I go, it will be with my familiy surrounding me with their love as well.
  17. This news is breaks my heart. My thoughts and prayers go to the Soto family, the church community and the school community. From the description of Luis, there is a precious angel in heaven watching over those he loved.
  18. LR, You have never hidden the truth of your convictions. You have always shared your feelings in a kind, loving and respectful way. You don't look down on those who don't share your beliefs. You even try to know more about the faith of those who don't believe as you do. You do this without JUDGEMENT. You do it with LOVE. This is the difference between you and those that have been suspended. You are not using p.com as a bully pulpit. That is why everyone loves you!
  19. GroovyChica, I hope that things are better for you now. Unfortunately, that thread wasn't going to be a place to help you. It was pretty rough. Good luck with everything!
  20. Thank you so much Pubby! The educational religious discussions that had become the "norm" on p.com had all but disappeared with the postings of the two that are suspended. I miss those engaging threads greatly. I for one got "jumped" in the divorce thread by one of the suspended ones. It was NOT pleasant and left me quite hurt. I know that these two have hurt many on p.com in their zeal to force their beliefs down the throats of all on p.com. I hope that it never, ever happens again. You are the best. Feel better soon!
