I agree! I am so over the reality angle. Is this really what is preferred now? Looks like reality is here to stay.

I have to say, that when I read your post, I did not take it in a bad context. For one, I understand what you were trying to say. It was indeed a terrible accident - I know these people, as well - and I sincerely hope that this child will not be charged. He's suffered enough.

A very sad day! She was a primary reason I listened to the Bert Show. She will be missed. Here's wishing her much success and happiness!

Didn't expect this outcome, but I'm glad she's alive. I still feel funny about the husband, though. This all seems kind of like a staged event, to me.

I heard the rumor a few weeks ago about AMC being cancelled, but now both? Wow - times really are changing. I know these shows are nothing but fluff, but I guess they had become such a part of our culture, and I remember growing up settling down to watch the "stories" with my mom, grandmother, and aunts. It's far-fetched drama most of the time, but it does take you away from the day-to-day drama (or lack thereof ) in our own lives. I think that eventually all soaps will be off the air. Will sure seem strange, but it's a new world.

Here we go again; more severe weather Friday night?
commonsense replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Whew - dodged that bullet on my prom night as well.....but then I would had to have had a date.... Anywhoo, hope the weather cooperates for the ones going Friday. -
As Blondie said, he's digging himself a hole with his mouth. I'd say he needs to quit while he's ahead, but I haven't believed him from the minute he gave that first "crying" performance.

Yep - I'm thinking in that direction. Now, if THAT comes to light............

The AJC is now reporting that the couple was in deep financial trouble and filed Chapter 7 last August. This puts a new wrinkle in things. I'm beginning to believe in a big way that this is not going to end well.

In Louisiana, we could buy it in convenience stores, any day of the week. Also, they had drive-through daquiri stands.

I agree. He already has a terrible burden to carry.

This is heartbreaking. A wonderful family and a remarkable student. My children are friends of his, and his older brother is married to a niece of one of my friends. This is how I first heard of this - shocking and desperately sad. Prayers going up for this young man and his family. May God give him the strength he needs to get through the hard days ahead.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that felt uncomfortable watching that guy. All I could think was: "And the Oscar goes to.........". My friend said that she wondered if this woman ran afoul of her husband, and he punished her in some way, and is covering up. Women are held to a strict code in the Muslim culture (not being racist, believe me). I hope that it's not something like that. In any case, there are 5 kids wondering where their mommy is. So sad....

Amen! We'd have no control over it anyway, and it would have a horrible affect on quality of life for the time left. And can you imagine the insane panic and craziness? It would make a bad situation worse. I agree - I just wouldn't want to know.

How about "Target's", "K-Mart's", "Wal-Mart's", and "Kroger's"?

Used to go to the Macon Braves games back in the day - got to see a lot of future major league talent come through there. Was sad to see Macon lose the team to Rome, but it all works out now that I'm up this way. I'll be going up to check it out. Sounds like a fun (and economical) family outing, and we love baseball!

Was just riding down Bobo, and I think I saw the "Christmas House". lol

LOL I guess to be fair, that they would probably object to "yall" up in Pittsburgh!

"You-'uns" - hands down.

Love gardening and home idea books. And like history and biography. Just finished reading "Mornings on Horseback", a Theodore Roosevelt biography. Fascinating! -
You go for it, girl! It's never too late. I finished LPN school at 38 at the top of my class, and worked on the side. As for how CNA's are treated - it's a shame nurses take that position. Those girls work VERY hard, and many of them can run circles around any LPN or RN. They have good, practical hands-on experience. That was the good thing about LPN school - you started from the bottom up, being taught total patient care, and it has been invaluable to me. Babyblues - tell your daughter to hang in there. It's not an easy exam, and I admire her for sticking to the classes while working.

Not to hijack the 'chain restaurant' thread

We ate there not too long ago. Delicious! My son had the pizza and can vouch for it being great, as he is a connoisseur of pizza. lol It was packed when we went in. The only issue I had was that the tables didn't seem large enough. Otherwise, great food and atmosphere. Nice to have something in our neck of the woods, and not having to travel for good Italian. Speaking of good Italian, I still have a large place in my heart for Pasta Bella. -

I've yet to figure out who he thinks he is. Believe what you believe, but don't bash others' beliefs and label them as wrong. His actions are endangering a lot of people - including himself. But then, what happens to him will be his problem. -
It's hard to imagine something so awful, isn't it? And she was a young woman, too!
