I caught some Lawrence Welk on PBS not too long ago.............wow! That took me back to wonderful memories at my grandparents on Saturday nights. And I remember Mannix! And the Carol Burnett Show, and the original Hawaii Five-0. My granny had a crush on Jack Lord. -
Does anybody remember Mr. Peabody and Sherman?
-
Oh, my - was that what they called the "mall rat" look? I used to go out looking like that...........it looked pretty good back then - I think.

Next month will be 4 years since I lost my precious dad to brain cancer. My prayers are with you today.

I think part of it is low self-esteem. I think it's a wonderful thing to be comfortable in your own skin, and sometimes it takes years to get to that point. I know people that spend all of their time trying to "be like everyone else". If we all felt that way, how dull life would be! I admire those that have the courage to be themselves. -
Where does she take classes? That sounds great.

Haven't had much of a taste for tequila after using it as a follow-up to vodka and tonics, boiler-makers, and a bottle of champagne - don't remember what we were celebrating, but sure do remember the yakking.
-
Hate it when that happens!

I clean when I'm stressed, too. Or when I'm good and mad. It's called sublimation, and I do my best work at those times. -
Haven't had any really good Cajun food since leaving Louisiana. I will give this a try!

Ouch! I come through there every afternoon from work, and they've been busting 'em right and left. I have slowed my butt down considerably. It just seems that 45 is slow for that stretch, though.

I like Diamond Nails in Powder Springs. They always do a great job.

I'd love to see Erica and Dorian together! Would the screen be big enough for both of them? Two of my favorite all-time divas!

The news--can't believe they are allowing Jamie Hood
commonsense replied to tbird's topic in RECENT TOPICS
He got it on his terms, didn't he? Wish I could feel some pity for this guy, but I can't. It didn't occur to me to be concerned whether he was harmed or not. What a coward. Officer Christian didn't even get the chance to get out of his car before Hood unloaded on him. My prayers to the families of the two officers. -
A friend saw it on the web, so I googled it, and sure enough...........there seems to be some truth to it. It wouldn't surprise me - after all, they cancelled As the World Turns and Guiding Light last year - the two oldest soaps. Guess the culture is changing.
-
Oh, if they cancel "The Hot and the Horny" it's all up! Somehow, I don't see that one coming down the pike.

Heard a little while ago that it's almost a certainty. And that it could be as soon as next week. Seems like they're moving pretty fast - they've got to wrap up those story lines. Maybe Erica will have a happily ever after - finally!
-
A sure sign of changing times. Soap operas are becoming a thing of the past. I've watched AMC since the very beginning - will seem strange to see it end. I guess with all of us women out working, the audience is dwindling. Apparently, it's cheaper to produce talk shows and judge shows. And we need more of those............don't we?!?

Oh,no - I was so sorry to hear this! She was the epitome of glamour - a beautiful lady. My father was madly in love with her. RIP, Elizabeth. You've always been a favorite of mine. There will never be another like you.

How old is too old to start gymnastics? My daughter is almost 15, but I want her to do something to improve her flexibility and body tone, if nothing else. She started when she was about 7 but had to stop.
