Anyone having a disruption in their water service? I'm in Poplar Springs area off of Poplar Rd and the only running water we have is falling from the sky :angry2:

I have purchased planting mix from Contract Services Co. in Hiram on 92 for just under $40 for about a cubic yard. They also have river sand and top soil. Wal Mart has bags or humus/ manure compost for a buck and a half.

Frozen Sangria! Large jug of cheap Sangria wine 1 can of frozen limeade 1 2 liter bottle sprite or 7-up chop up bits of fruit like strawberries, blueberries, oranges (but take out the membranes), grapes, apples mix it all together; put in 2 gallon size ziploc freezer bags; freeze completely (takes a day or two); when you're ready to serve it, take it out of freezer & defrost about 30 minutes on the counter. This will be slushy and DELICIOUS!!

I slice the sausage & brown it like Surepip said. Then I rinse it to get at least a little fat off! Then I add it about half way through cooking. But your most important tip is DO NOT SALT the beans until they are completely tender. All Cajuns (& maybe some other great chefs!) know that salting the beans stops them from cooking and no matter how many hours you try, they will not get tender. And, after they are cooked, mash some of them to thicken the mix. We RBR last night served with brown rice instead of the traditional white rice. It was yummy!

A couple months ago I was researching ways to lower the Comcast bill. We had land line, internet & upgraded cable w/ HD & one of the higher level package of channels without SHOWTIME, HBO, etc, 2 DVR's & regular TV service to a third TV. The bill was close to $200 per month. I found better deals with AT&T, so I called Comcast & invited them to help me understand why I should stay with Comcast when AT&T was offering so much more for so much less. I was really polite, didn't threaten to leave & within 12 minutes came away from the conversation with a monthly bill
