  1. If you were a little more familiar with the downtown Dallas area, figuring out who this is would be quite simple. I am happy to see him still around. Sal's
  2. Thoughts and prayers for you and Johnny and Debbie and families.
  3. Our bill doubled from last month, but I didn't think to check the meter.
  4. Just FYI, folks on this site have been taken advantage of and outright lied to by folks in the past who claimed to be someone or something they are not. They have a right to be a bit suspicious. it's the ability to be anonymous that tends to make some people do things they might not otherwise do in person. I don't believe either of those ladies meant to stir or defame. They are good people. You must admit that "anon"'s combined posts seemed a bit suspect.
  5. I love visiting businesses in downtown Hiram. I love the atmosphere. I wish them all success and would love to have them there a long time. I really LOVED the Hiram Coffee House! I would have loved to see them stay. Glad to have a new business there (people are very friendly, service is good, and I enjoyed the food, btw) but I'm not sure I'll visit a tearoom as often as I did the coffee house. Although the service will go a long way toward having me return. I just prefer coffee to hot tea (although the iced tea was quite good). And sorry, a cafe in a shopping strip isn't the
  6. Ditto! It was worth an extra $2 to get an occassional DVD. Not worth $8. Particularly in light of the fact that you can't get new releases. For the most part, we really like it. We'll keep the streaming.
  7. My love and prayers to you all. We'll miss you, Eric.
  8. For those looking for this information . . .
  9. I'd like to witness someone offering your explanations to the police officer who is writing the ticket for failure to have auto insurance. I'll continue to watch while they tow the vehicle that they won't let you drive home (at the offender's expense, I might add). And, yes, get your proof to the station that handled the accident. They can ticket for no insurance after the accident.
  10. Except that 75% of the movies are REALLY old. New releases take forever.
  11. Nope, not just you. I've been hitting the Zyrtec for 2 weeks now. It's the only way I can tolerate it and be tolerable. Zyrtec is available over the counter now and it works best for me. it's not cheap, but it's worth it. I heard Walgreens has their own version out and it works, but I haven't tried that yet. I may since I only have 3 left in the box.
  12. Got the 2am call. My husband was NOT happy about it.
  13. Facts are probably going to be irrelevant to those that just want to bitch and talk down about others, however, there are reasons beyond "hypocritical Baptists", etc. for this delay. According to what I've seen, it's unconstitutional (forbidden by the State of Georgia constitution) to move this issue to local governments. So, it needs to be re-examined on a state level. Continue your bitching here. Others will be contacting their legislators.
  14. How kind of you. when you hear back, please ask what shoe size. I have a pair of boy's dress shoes (size 4) that are like brand new that need a new home. I'd be happy to get them to you to take with the things you have. PM me if you want to discuss, I'm not around here that often.
  15. I'm really not sure where the assumption is coming from the I would PREFER that folks drink in a restaurant and drive home. I've never said that and didn't even imply it. No, liquor stores would not be "required" to open, but they would feel obligated. Just in case their Regular Joe forgot to stop by on Saturday, they would much rather he continue to shop with them than go somewhere else. I haven't made a case for or against. I was simply stating some issues that some were choosing to ignore.
  16. The meeting is tomorrow morning to determine if the legislation has enough support to bring it to the floor. Your time would be better spent calling those who will be in attendance than trying to slant the truth here. There's actually nothing to substantiate what you've said. There's no proof alcohol consumption will increase. Liquor store owners (who have long supported the ban on Sunday alcohol sales) predict they will actually lose money by opening an additional day with no overall increase in revenue.
  17. My heart goes out to Johnny, the boys, and the entire Evans family during this very difficult time. May God give you peace and may the love that surrounds you give you comfort in the days ahead.
  18. I don't really do Valentine's. It's just kinda silly. I don't need overpriced flowers sent out of obligation because a calendar said to send them.
  19. I'll withhold judgment before I get too excited.
  20. You know my guy would help you out. I'm not really in a position to make a lot of plans these days with the state of my mother's health. But, if you still need help, call me closer to time and let me know, we may be able to work something out.
  21. Miss you too! Yes, you may pull my hair AND paddle Little Johnny. to JohnnyJ?
  22. I consider the moderation very 5th grade. Little Susie can't know Little Johnny's punishment for pulling her hair. It might damage his fragile psyche. Back in the day, knowing that Little Johnny got a paddling was a deterrent for Little Jimmy. I personally feel people (in general) rise to the level of expectation. But, alas, we currently live in a world geared toward mediocre equality. That's just my .02 for the week.
