  1. OK, never have had any complaints with either of these establishments. We have had a BOA Visa, and online banking for years. Go on line, log in, pay the bill. No problems. We have had our mortgage with countrywide for years. Go on line, log in, pay the bill. No problems. Ummm, BOA bought Countrywide. OK. I go on line the first part of October to pay my mortgage. Can't sign in. Get a message they are changing systems and it will be up and operating on October 9th. On the 10th, I log in, or tried to. I am re-directed to the BOA Visa account. Yeah, that's right. S
  2. GD, The topic was Tight-Ass Tippers who do so AFTER getting great service and abusing the server. Son worked as a busboy at El Jalapeno through highschool, and when he turned 18 he moved down the road to the Nice BBQ joint with the full bar. At the end of the summer when he was leaving for college he turned in his resignation, and the managers told him if he wanted to work at Thanksgiving, Xmas, etc. to not resign and they would just remove him froom the schedule. He was a very good server and they wanted to hang on to him. He has been there 4-1/2 years now, during holidays and summers, a
  3. What in the hell are you spouting about? Although you have labeled me a flaming liberal because I choose to support the POTUS, I am indeed a capitalist's capitalist. I owned my own manufacturing business with 25+ employees for close to 15 years. I dis our current insurance system because I cannot buy a personal policy for even a 1/5 of what my wife pays as a state empoyee, and that is the primary reason she works for the state. It certainly is not for the salary. Son is trying to get into an MBA program and we are supporting him whilst he does so. So what are you babbling about
  4. Son has been a server at our upscale BBQ Restaurant for 5 years, working summers and holidays from college, and now since he has graduated and is going to Ga.Highlands in downtown Dallas while he tries to get into Grad School, he works weekends and a shift or 2 during the week. He worked a big party last night, along with another server, with per couple checks. Average check was $50 On 3 of the checks he got a $5 tip, a $3 tip, and a $0 tip. The $5 tip he had to split with another server. No problems with food, drinks, or anything else. All said the food and service was great
  5. We don't have any dogs in this fight anymore.....thank you Jesus. But we never had problems with our kids of what to wear. I threatened them with UNIFORMS as I wore for 12 years of parochial schooling. I don't understand the mindset of those who want to show their underware, and/or butt cracks, but it is totally unappropriate and shows where they come from. Good luck to all of you who have to contend with this. When we had our business located here, and had kids come in to apply for jobs, we would show them the door real quick if they came in dressed in such a way. It showed us rig

    What?

My, my, my...... Some of us certainly are touchy now aren't we ?
  7. Many people have great natural immunities,......Many people have no natural immunities. How did you do as a youngster with measles, chicken pox, mumps, etc. ? Some of the natural immunities are genetic and inherited. And those that have those inherited immunities are lucky. But at the same time it sure seems a shame for others to become seriously ill or die, just because of hearing from others about no need to get the vaccinations.
  8. Sometimes I am amazed my the intelligent commentary posted on p.com.............
  9. A suggestion for the trash can, and other turkey cooking methods. Brine the bird first. For fresh birds, you can put them right in. For frozen birds, as soon as they are thawed enough to remove the wrappings. put them in, and come back the next day and retrieve the giblet packs after they have thawed further. I don't measure, but dissolve KOSHER salt a cup or so at a time in a saucepan with boiling water. Pour off the brine, leaving whatever salt crystals are left, and add more hot water. Boil, and repeat. I think I use about 2-3 cups of salt. Pour the brined water into a large
  10. AH, CC, we just are still trying to get our house all back together from the damages when the developer blasted 300 feet from the house. The Pizza oven has been moved and put back together, but I have not had the bucks to install the new steel chimney. We hope to be on line to do some dinners and wine-tastings for the upcoming Relay for Life season and some other charity events, and they will be posted on p.com. Thanks! SP
  11. I normally have already gotten the seasonal but have been waiting to get the H1N1 first, then wait 2 weeks and get the seasonal.
  12. We have a metal galvanized roof for about 11-12 years now and love it. We have a vaulted ceiling through-out the house and without the attic space beneath the shingles which were on it burned up years ago. I was MOST pleased when MrsSurepip said she would like a galvanized metal roof instead. And then my old metal shop made all the soffits and facia pieces. Should be good for another 20 to 30 years or more. Thank you Jesus!!!
  13. There are generally some tissue culture vaccines available for people who are allergic to eggs. But I don't understand your statement about all of the people getting the vaccine/shot will require someone to look after them. I have heard of no one getting a case of the flu from a killed vaccine injection. Possibly from the live weakened vaccine nasal mist, but not the shot. Depending on how long ago, you may have received a vaccination years and years ago which was a live but weakened virus. That protocol went out when the epidiologists figured out how to arrest and kill virus in the va
  14. I quarter the bird like a chicken, removing the backbone. 2 leg quarters and 2 breast/wing quarters. If it is a relatively large critter I cut the wishbone front of the breast out also ending up with 5 pieces than can be easily worked in the frying kettle with tongs instead of trying to manhandle a giant bird. We bake one also with an adobo marinade and for basting with a Masa cornbread-chorizo sausage stuffing. That one gets put on the table whole for "Presentation", and I slice the breasts and thighs from the fried bird and put them on a separate platter.
  15. First time MrsSurepip went with me to Springdale, Arkansas; the home to Tyson, Butterball, Hudson, and others, we got out of the car and complained about the odiferous smell. I told her to Shhhhhsshh, that smell was MONEY to the residents of Springdale.
  16. None yet available around here that I know of.
  17. Can you say, "Commute?" There is an express commuter bus service which goes from Movies 278 and Florence Road to downtown Atlanta. If you can find a job on the bus route itself, or adjacent to a Marta Station, you can do it in an hour each way and at least not have to drive except to get to Movies 278. If you do find something in Paulding, it will not pay much. We have taken "Bedroom-Community" to a whole new level of "Dormitory Community". 75% or more of our work force leaves the county daily to go to their jobs. Good Luck.
  18. Paper bag of doggy poop, strategically placed on the front stoop, soaked with some mineral spirits and set ablaze just as the doorbell was rung.......and run like hell. Kite string looped over power wires crossing the streets, with an egg tied in a string basket hung just at windshield level. Or you could work out the right height and "walk" the egg on a string uphill to one side of the road and time when to let it go to hit the passenger of drivers side window. My little brother though was not overly bright. He chose to egg a house 2 doors down the street with an older lady he did
  19. The link was conjecture and guesses, based on experience from 1986 [? I believe] and other issues which are not pertinent to the H1N1 vaccines. It is, and was, using some good hype to create fears. Some possibly founded, some not. Part of the reason the vaccines are running behind schedule is awaiting test results on efficacy and side effects, but your link mis-stated that as well. They shopped the CDC site for partial sentences which when read in whole gave statements to the opposite. If you don't want the vaccine for you and yours that is your choice. No one is going to force you. But
  20. The running joke within the poultry industry, is when will the geneticists figure out how to give us a chicken with 6 or 8 wings ? Right now, with the industry in a tight supply and demand, wings are selling for half again more than boneless skinless breasts. Who would have ever believed that 10 or even 5 years ago.
  21. Yes, the pharmaceuticals are making some bucks on the H1N1 vaccines, but these were all Pre-Sold last May-June. It has nothing to do with any media hype of otherwise. They do not produce the vaccines on a speculation market. They only will gear up to produce what the market commits to purchase long in advance. These were done deals 4 to 5 months ago. Now whether or not millions of doses get left sitting on the shelves at the Health Clinics and warehouses remains to be seen, but the pharmaceutical guys could care less about that.
  22. None of the links has any data or information on negative side effects from the current H1N1novel vaccine in otherwise healthy people. The vaccination given to the child with overlying epileptic problems was administered by the school nurse by mistake. The other links are all conjecture. Part of the reason the vaccine is late deliverying is because of ongoing testing for efficacy and side effects. Bottom line for most, is if you are anti-vaccination programs period [for known possible side effects like allergies, or other reasons], then by all means do not obtain the vaccination. A
  23. I have not seen much negative adverse effects directly attributed to the H1N1 vaccine yet. A few about the live, nasal mist variety, but not much of anything about the killed vaccine shot. Of course there are not many doses available of the shots still.
  24. I had Google Chrome from another hardware device I recently installed and it seems to work fine. I could get on with AOL, but the display was screwy and I got the miles of open ended posts. Hope you get all the bugs worked out soon.
  25. I assume there is a problem if using AOL ? How about a line by line instuctions of what us AOL users need to do in order to access it ? And pleast don't tell me to go and load this or that. Many of us your age, and older Pubby, just are not THAT computer savy. Thanks for any help, and I hope this post makes it because I am flying blind. SP
