  1. They made up the bed....but we have to sleep in it. Yes I blame THEM. They, the current BOC administration chose to support ONLY the local housing industry. THEY did eveything possible in THEIR elected postions to help out the RBMDs. And in doing so THEY put all of our eggs in that one basket which has now sprung one hell of a leak in the bottom. Absolutely I blame THEM. They had countless opportunities to diversify and to bring Industry here. But the RBMDs did not know how to make a buck off of doing that so they continued to approve countless PRDs bulding more and more houses. Now
  2. I mentioned specifically in one of my earlier posts suggesting you go back and view the BOC meetings from December 2005 and May of 2006 [even though it was severely edited] to see where I begged, literally, for our BOC to step up to the plate and make an industrial/office park happen instead of 500 more houses in Palisades. I was going to get "encroached on" either way, but I busted my butt to no avail to make something happen to create 2500 good paying jobs here in Paulding. Watch King Jerry and his Court in the video......it speaks for itself. I moved my business here in 1989, and got Z
  3. Sorry girl, I am generally known for have a wicked smile most of the time. And my industry has crashed as well. Go and check out the Poultry Company Stocks. Pilgrim's has posted $200 million in losses for just the first 2 quarters. But that is another story to Paulding's woes........ I feel for most of the neophyte builders who got sucked into the RBMD's scheme. They took a beating and will continue to do so while the RBMDs walk away having lost little when you look at the whole picture. I have heard of several who have bought out their builders......at $0.20 and $0.25 on the dollar.
  4. Hey, Thanks Dude! Note: Did I mention any ill will towards the builders ? I feel very, very sorry for them as they for the most part got sucked into the RBMD's scheme, and then got left hanging out to dry. Had some forsight and planning been incorporated into their plans, then we might have been building industrial/office parks here and there instead of just houses, houses, and houses. But in their GREED to make a buck as quick as possible they went for the easy way out. And now it has collapsed. Please go back, 1, 2 or more years ago to my posts. I begged and pleaded with the
  5. Moi is French for "ME". And RBMD is for, or course, ROBBER BARON MEGA DEVELOPERS, who may possibly become extinct in Paulding County in the not too distant future. in which case I will be LMAO!!!!
  6. MOI!?!? One more to go this time, and one more to go in 2 years, although I doubt he will run.
  7. Sorry, but that dog won't hunt. Ragsdale approved the annual re-assesment policy adopted by King Jerry and Company, and the $65million plus for the new courthouse comples, plus removing the fire department from the county budget after telling the voters the fire tax would be used to supplement the department's county budget funding, and the list goes on. Raising the millage rates, and increasing the tax digest in order to bring in more revenue for the county are 2 different things. They got their tax increase year after year after year without raising the millage. And by simply remov
  8. I like the breathe fresh air coming from Joey Seabolt's campaign. But just Ragsdale's "I" next to his name was enough for me to want to see him gone. The voters in Post 1 have the opportunity to create a total shift on the Board of Commissioners. And we certainly need a change there after the past 8+ years. But it appears there are many who still are content with the status quo of our BOC. I hope they see the light between now and November 4th.
  9. Unfortunately you are way off base here. Our Federal tax structure is a basic 25% on true net profits, and that is one of the lowest in the developed countries considered part of the Western World [Europe and some of South America]. We are still the capitalist haven of the western world. But we are no longer competitive in the world market place for the gadgets the consumers want to buy. That has now moved to China, India, Mexico, Brasil and others. We encourage our best and brightest to sit at a keyboard and find loopholes to make obscene profits on paper that in reality do not exist. He
  10. Joyce and Chuck were really sweet people who Melissa and I were proud to have known. She just was one really sweet lady and will be missed by many. Joyce: We hope you and Chuck will find eternal happiness together again....you will be missed by those of us still here. You were one sweet lady, and your husband was a gentleman and a scholar. We will think of you often, and especially when we see our French Lockheed poster hanging by the kitchen. You will be missed by many.......
  11. Pubby, I have $150 in checks for Relay for Life. Would you like them for the p.com team? We originally were going to have a Knights of Columbus Team at St Vincent de Paul Church. But the Pastor requested we NOT do a separate KOC team, and that he would take care of getting a SVdP Church team goin instead.....which never happened [?!?!]. St Vincents had the number ONE church team for 6 or 7 years running, but they have lost interest the past couple of years. So,,.......I have some funds raised at a St Patricks Dinner which I would be more than willing to turn over to the P.com team
  12. One of the sweetest ladies we have ever had the pleasure to meet and be around. For all of the Jones family and friends, please accept our sincere condolences and know you will all be in our prayers. Thad and Melissa Morrison and family
  13. Chuck was an "Old School" Gentleman and a Scholar, and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He and Joyce are/were specical. Mrs S and I have had the pleasure of knowing Chuck for going on to 15 years now. Always wearing a real smile, Chuck was truly a good guy. For you Lockheed trivia folks out there, I believe Chuck's design talents were used on the old 131's, the C5 and many more. We will miss you Chuck....your smile was always a true welcome on Sunday morning.
  14. For those who attend St.Vincents, this was Mike Ragsdale's mom. Mike passed away last summer. They are survived by Jane, Mike's widow, and their children Jamie, Michelle, and Wendy. The Ragsdale family should be in everyone's prayers. May God bless them all.
  15. Don died from a heart attack. He was 49 I believe. He had lunch with several of us the week before. No health complaints at all. Support HeartWalk and the American Heart Association.
  16. Maybe a little sharper "announcer", with less accent ? But you are getting better, and it is a far, far improvement over the New Era.
  17. TBAR, I think I see the attraction now. The girl in the picture resembles FBBC....cept you can't see her legs.
  18. Family and Friends of Ray "Bossman" Traylor, We are going to miss the Bossman. And please accept out condolences and heartfelt wishes for you to find comfort during this time. Consider getting involved with The American Heart Association and the 2004 Heart Walk & Peddle a week from tomorrow, October 2 at 9:00 AM at the Hiram Silver Comet Trailhead in memory of the Bossman. We will be having a Low Country Boil tonight at The Surepips [see the thread in American Heartwalk and in the Internet Cafe about the dinner] as a fundraiser for Heartwalk. We will be thinking abou
