  1. The emergency room is usually overworked because if someone doesn't have insurance or funds to pay for medical care that is straight where they are heading because they can't refuse treatment.
  2. No kidding! I am glad they don't count above ground as permanent. We have nothing to compare to since this is our first year here but it's higher than I thought so I am relieved we didn't tack on more to it with an in-ground! Plus given the fact that I forgot to file for homestead exemption before the deadline didn't help. So fingers crossed next years is mo bettah!
  3. How did apparently more than one person hear gunfire and no one in the apartment did... Hmmm...
  4. Thanks, I never use that and was trying to figure out how to tell them... I just meant I use my own ignore button, not the p.com one..
  5. I stand corrected... I just usually ignore and now I remember why, going back to that way of life...
  6. Probably about right for a Monday morning... Most utility companies are that way. DeKalb Co water will not even let you hold, they just say, sorry there are too many callers, call back later!
  7. You are confusing the truth with your assumption of a situation. Hopefully at some point folks have shared with you the breakdown of assuming because you definitely fit the bill on that one....
  8. You say a lot of stupid things on here, but I think you are now tipping the scale to idiotic and clueless statements....
  9. It is... We go to the one in Cartersville a lot... Dang now I want a steak!
  10. Better yet, record your requests and the nurses responses on your phone and inform them they are being recorded. That should let them know you are serious.
  11. Exactly... All these people who say I don't eat pizza it's not healthy but think nothing of sitting their kids down in front of the tube with a bag of "baked" Lay's.... It's a crock. I don't eat even remotely what would be called a healthy diet, in fact people swear by what I eat I will be 400 lbs soon but I understand the concept of moderation. My kids hate the revision to lunches and complain about the whole wheat pop tarts but they are eating me alive trying to keep three growing kids in snacks! And no, they probably won't meet Mrs. Obama's standards. I'm ok with that...
  12. Customer service at it's finest! Maybe one day it will sink in....
  13. I do agree with the fact that you should never put them in intersections. Horrible, horrible idea. But if they are standing in the front of Wal Mart, oh well... Duh, because it's mine....
  14. Y'all folks need a hobby... seriously... ETA - And no, my kids have never done the standing out with a bucket thing, they do the stupid school sales where I have to spend $20 for a $2 item but I do buy them to support the schools and my kids to get the even more stupid .50 prize. But again, y'all SERIOUSLY need a hobby... So much more to worry about in life....
  15. I think you people get bent out of shape for the dumbest things.... Give or don't and go on your merry way. I do get concerned with any kids standing in the median of roads like 278 but other than that, who cares. I would personally rather give a buck out my window than have a group of teens wash my car.... And face it, some kids parents could never, ever afford some of these events so this may be there only option and jobs are just not so abundant, even the neighborhood boy who cuts lawns has a tough time getting work. My daughter does baby sitting because she can't get hired (not for spo
  16. You ever heard of priming the pump? Obviously not... I have worked with grants before for a significant non profit and while yes, some you grow old waiting for some are pretty quick (in relative terms) and once you have that pipeline going it keeps constant work. But, if you're in for the lazy route, yours will work! I am STUNNED!
  17. I understand what you are saying I just think the smart thing would be to see what resources are out there to supplement the budget and THEN evaluate the need for a tax increase, if needed. Not, "let's just throw some money at it" mentality.
  18. So your solution is to appeal for higher taxes versus research the grants mentioned above? I personally thought the grants option sounded way more intriguing than your solution. Glad you didn't get office if you think the answer to everything is raising taxes.
  19. G and C did our granite... they are pretty close to you in Dallas.
  20. I picked up my tag on a new car at the tag office. They told me they are running less than two weeks.
  21. My boy child would rather ride with me to the school than the bus, that's good enough for me! I enjoy those mornings with just the two of us! Wouldn't trade it for anything....
  22. Only a dozen times!?!? I bet other similar size companies have a HELL of a lot more suits filed against them than that.
