Thats good to know. Yes, we won't have any problem proving that the child has lived with us all year. Of course, we work and have to wait on w-2's. She doesn't so she can file hers in January. Lets just hope everything works out for the best. I am tired of getting screwed by her.... Yes, the child attends school in Paulding transferred from another county. We had no problem with registration. We provided birth certificate along with my husbands ID and utility bill in his name. I have a child that attends the same school. Ex didn't have to sign or do anything.

My step child has been living with us since November 2009. We haven't changed custody simple because we don't have $3,000 to pay an attorney. My husband has tried to contact his ex via text asking her to sign the paper that would allow us to claim the child on our 2010 taxes. She won't respond and more than likely won't sign it. We feel its only fair that we can claim the one that lives with us since we have supported the child the entire time. Plus we still pay her child support for two kids. The other one still lives with her. Anyone know anything about this?

I was one of those from age 17 to 20 that tried alot of stuff. I pray that my boys will make good choices. I talk to them about it since they are ages 12 to 15 now. They DO NOT know that I ever did anything, but they don't need to. It would validate that "Hey if it didn't hurt Mom then it won't hurt us". For some reason, God spared my life.....My parents were oldtimers who would only say "if I ever "catch" you drinking your car is gone".
