WTH? MORTGAGE INTEREST TAX DEDUCTION TAKEN AWAY
quicksilver replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I get boiling mad whenever the subject of 'GIVING' to seniors comes up. Social Security WAS a solvent program before Congress, YEP Congress, decided to 'Liberate' the fund and leave IOU's in its place so they could spend that money, that was 'earmarked' for the fund's solvency on other 'earmarked' pork projects. How convenient it is to forget that Social Security was intended to be a cushion to prevent poverty in later years and has been faithfully paid into by every Legally employed person since its inception...{The act was an attempt to limit what were seen as dangers in the modern Amer -

I have a suggestion for their consideration: Why not simply bring all our troops, support equipment and $$$ home? I mean have you ever stopped to consider; All the food, clothing items, ammunition, fuel, explosives, medical supplies, personal care items, foot powder, eyeglasses, socks, Q-tips, bottled water...and on-and-on-and-on.....That are consumed in just ONE SINGLE DAY by our troops overseas? Now multiply that by 10-years...we've overthrown governments, occupied soverign countries, threatened others, endured untold threats, squandered $$$, destroyed Millions of dollars wor -

I listen to NPR for the classical music...I turn down the volume when they spew their BS slant on the news. George Soros...made all his money 'shorting' the British pound...then he backed all the Liberal candidates in 2008...with the Moveon.org website. However, this year he has withdrawn his support for the 'Looser' candidates...I was wondering where he was putting his 'pocket change' I guess he needs a media outlet to control. Oh well Juan got a much better gig over at Fox...Way to go Rupert!

Hiring Managers and Unemployed

Damn....You sound like Eddie "The Postman"! ya know...not everyone wants to handle all the 'attachments' that go with entrapreneurship...I'm just saying that being your own boss isn't for everybody and you should not chastize folks who have a differing opinion. I have worked for myself for the past 8 years and I am quite happy with what I do. However, I am still 'chained' to those companies that hire me to manage their processes...EVERY self-employed business person out there still 'RELY' upon someone to pay for their product or service... Your insurance argument is full of holes! -

When I got out of college, got married we had a 900 Sq Ft house, no garage, One car, one B&W TV set and no credit cards. House Payment--$87.00/month Car payment--$32.00/month Groceries--$25.00/week Utilities--$22.00/month Expenses--$5.00/week Income--$325.00/month We thought we were living very well, we raised 2 kids in that little house, saved enough money to buy a bigger one when we moved to Atlanta...it took me 7 years to work up to a salary of $1,000/month and then I thought I was rich! By that time: House Payment--$250/month Car payment--$125/month Groceries- -

Contrary to all the negative publicity eggs are not bad for you, certainly not as bad as all that fat from bacon-YUCK!...and you can mix practically anything with them to make an omlet or a scramble, almost anything left over in the fridge is fair game, pasta, veggies, seafood, low fat cheeses, fruit--whatever...roll it up in a tortilla and...Presto, instant breakfast that is both easy to eat on the go, and tastes terrific. Also a shake made with egg whites, yogurt, low fat milk, fruit (bananna, strawberries, etc.)...add a little wheat germ and a bit of ice makes a good healthy drink for a

The hands....Oh, the hands are surely the give away. I guess the make-over industry hasn't solved that problem yet. I'll bet Nancy Pelosi's hands look like a couple of 'gnarly' old tree roots...

Since my dental surgery...and my 'soft-foods' diet...(lost 22 lbs)I have been eating...Yogurt, fruit bars and Oatmeal. Scrambled Egg Whites with onions and bell pepper rolled up in a tortilla works pretty good as well. Also don't forget Cheerios and other cereals...there are good carbs and bad carbs...plus just concentrating on carbs will add lots of fat... A good balanced diet of fruits and veggies with all else in moderation works over time. And of course, No Alcohol... Since November of 2008...I have lost a total of 55 pounds.

I have had this work done numerous times. My experience is as follows: wisdom tooth extraction around $450/tooth if they are not impacted Crown will run around $1,200/tooth including prep. It's been a while since I've had a root canal but pretty close to the same for the crown. I recently (last week) inquired about Implants and the Dr. told me around $1,500 for the prep and the 'post'...the crown or tooth runs about the same. So for a single tooth implant around $3,000-$3,200/tooth. All this is without insurance...with insurance be prepared to argue with the company ab

Forming a "wedge" on a kickoff return is no longer legal. If three or more players line up shoulder-to-shoulder within two yards of each other, it will be a penalty. On onside kicks, the kicking team can't have more than five players bunched together. Video replay can be used to determine if a loose ball stayed in bounds or hit the sideline. WTF....

In just six months, on January 1, 2011, the largest tax hikes in the history of America will take effect. They will hit families and small businesses in three great waves. On January 1, 2011, here’s what happens... (read it to the end, so you see all three waves)... First Wave: Expiration of 2001 and 2003 Tax Relief In 2001 and 2003, the GOP Congress enacted several tax cuts for investors, small business owners, and families. These will all expire on January 1, 2011. Personal income tax rates will rise. The top income tax rate will rise from 35 to 39
