  1. This is not scientific and I have no financial interest. I like to see local businesses be successful..... Lots of businesses have tried to succeed at this location. I remember the old store that was there for years...finally got squeezed out by the convenience store boom.... How are they doing? Anybody a "regular" customer? How are their prices?
  2. There is no such thing as "Common Law" marriage in Georgia any longer. Georgia recognized a second, informal type of legal union known as common law marriage until Jan 1, 1997. Common law marriage occurred when a man and woman cohabited and proclaimed to the public that they were husband and wife (this could be done as easily as by signing a motel register as "Mr. & Mrs."). The justification for recognizing common law marriage is so that the children of such a union will not be considered to be illegitimate. There is no such thing as a common law divorce; a common law marriage must be
  3. Although severely suffering from the effects of the 7.0 earthquake that devastated much of Haiti a week ago The Salvation Army in that country has been fully mobilised in reaching out to help others. The initial response has been aimed at helping people survive. This life-saving effort concentrates on getting food, water and shelter to as many people as possible and has involved more than 700 Salvation Army personnel from Haiti. http://www.salvationarmy.org/ Haiti Relief and Development On January 12, a series of earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 deva
  4. I'm just saying..... Here's an organization with $77 Million in the bank and annual expenses of $5 Million asking for $12 donations of hair combs and toothbrushes. I expect that that same $12 would buy a lot of water, dehydrated food, antiseptic and medical supplies which is in much greater demand than 6 band-aids and a nail file...
  5. Obviously not nearly as much as you do...at 7,000 posts. But then only when the "Name-Calling" starts... How on earth do you get anything done...Sweetlips...?
  6. I really do not have to justify my contributions to you, or anyone else, for that matter! But...Just for the record, my furry-legged Fem-Gal, I have made cash contributions to both the Red Cross and The Salvation Army. We are also "rounding up" our receipts at Kroger. But then that is exactly what you thought now wasn't it? Additionally, as if it would matter to you...I have children currently serving in both the Army and Air Force..each of which are either currently or have in the past been in harms way. I also served honorably in the US Army from 1965 to 1972, voluntaril
  7. WOW...I'm sure these folks are anxiously awaiting those Plastic baggies of goodies from the Methodist Relief Organization...Those nail files and toothbrushes are just what they need!
  8. Just curious....What do you do with that 40 pounds of useless trash...take it to the landfill?
  9. I have been on SEVERAL others...but this one is the MOST RIDICULOUS... Just to think that refugees from a devastating earthquake would be looking for nail files and toothbrushes is funny enough. But then you top it off with $1.00 to buy toothpaste...now that's funny...
  10. THAT"S what I would like to know.... Yep comes the 4th horseman...behold a Pale Horse indeed!! What we need is MORE HORSEMEN and a lot more PALE HORSES....
  11. I see them every weekend up on Highway 92...I have yet to see anyone stop to buy one. Let me see now....standing out in the weather trying to sell a $2.00 paper for $1.00...Hmmm sounds like a very lucrative job to me!! And as for the argument about all those coupons...You can do much better going direct to the manufacturers websites or any one of a number of coupon websites...and most of them are free. And...big plus here...you don't have to get rid of all that communistic commentary that is in the damn Atlanta Journal-Constitution!!
  12. Oh Pleeese.....Give me a break! Risk...What risk are you talking about? C'Mon do you people really think the victims in Haiti will find comfort in a nail file and a toothbrush? I guess you folks can go to church Sunday and feel great about your $12 care packages that will sit on a truck somewhere for 3 weeks. Send your $12 to the Salvation Army or the Red Cross...it might really do some good that way. Don't waste your money on a washcloth and a toothbrush...Geeesch what are you people thinking? I know you feel the need to help...but not this way. Who's rediculous idea was
  13. If only it would get to those in need...instead of a bunch of thugs ripping and tearing at the packages and taking more than their share. There is no way to truly help these people until the streets are clear of thugs and raging gangs with weapons. So sad that we along with others have contributed so much to this country over the years only to have had it squandered by puppet dictators and criminals... It started with the FRENCH...when they let Haiti become independent but at such a great cost that it took them 50 years to pay it back...now what? The French are accusing us of t
  14. Some even become Infamous....Like that idiot Tiger Woods
  15. Have a professional do it...
