I think the one thing you can be sure of is no one will be held accountable for this woman's death and it will be business as usual in the days ahead.

No offense Mr. Postman but I suspect you've been watching to many CSI TV shows. Still knocking down someone's door is no substitute for old fashion investigative police work.

I wonder if the fact that any seized cash or confiscated property goes directly into the Police Department's budget, not to mention the traditional next day media show and tell could have anything to do with the zeal used to carryout these brutal raids ?

The problem is Granny a lot of these tragedies happen because the police turn out to be at the wrong house or an angry neighbor that simply doesn't like you complained . Or in the case of the 80 year old women in Atlanta the police informant (most of whom are drug addicts themselves) simple lied to the police to pick up a little extra money for his habit. Now in all fairness if they have made a mistake and don't kill you in the raid they will fix your door and pay your medical bills. But of course they do pay you with your own tax money so it's really more like a refund.

You see I don't think you get a "drop your weapon" anymore. The Law Enforcement we have today are more of a shoot first and ask questions latter group. That's why a 80 year old woman died in Atlanta a few years back, that's why the guy "armed" with a can of pepper spray on Nebo Rd was shoot. I read where a man was once killed when he stood up from the couch "armed" with the TV remote control. No I think the only thing you can do is to sit there, stay calm and pray it is the Police and your not about to get robbed and become the victim of a Home Invasion.

Careful unless you want someone kicking your door down in the middle of the night.
