  1. I agree, that is a crock. GA should be in a decent bowl game. The Sugar Bowl lineup is Florida vs. Louisville? That's almost as bad as when GA played Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl!! Oh, and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo admitted he screwed up and should have had Murray spike the ball.
  2. I remember when the Hardy house would have their light display.
  3. And, the guy that always rang in the New Year died--rest in peace Dick Clark--so the Mayans may be right after all! LOL
  4. Women attempt it more often but use slower methods, like overdosing or slitting wrists, where men do it with more drastic methods, like shooting or hanging. The theory is women typically want to be found before it's too late, a cry for help, and men don't. It took me many years to wrap my head around why my friend did this and I finally realized that someone who does take their own life isn't in their normal state of mind, it's a dark fog clouding everything and all you can think is making it go away. When people asked me why my friend did that, I can honestly say I don't know and it's never
  5. He probably charged the DUI instead of speeding because it's a more serious offense. DUI is never something to brag about or joke about. My neighbor was passenger in a car when a drunk driver hit them head-on. It killed the driver (my neighbor's best friend) and put my neighbor in a coma for three weeks and months of rehab, and the drunk driver wasn't injured. Oh, did I mention this was the summer going into my neighbor's senior year of high school and his best friend had just graduated high school? Yeah, DUI is a very serious matter.
  6. It was a great game--next year belongs to the DAWGS! Don't be trying to get Richt fired!!! Go Dawgs! What bowl game are they in?
  7. Love the decorated buggy. It was her trademark and it will surely be missed. I've seen those "ghost bikes" and crosses on the side of the road, maybe a white buggy could be placed near 92 and 278?
  8. I always thought it was Thousand Island dressing, or ketchup and relish mixed together. I can't stand the stuff though!
  9. Prayers for both families and the coaches and his teammates and fans. The thing about suicide is there is never a simple, single-faceted reason as to why, if a reason is ever determined. Nobody should judge him. It's a horrible situation for all involved.
  10. It's not a tum-ah (Arnold Schwarzennager in Kindergarten Cop). There may be some inflammation in the ear; wax build-up typically is a more gradual hearing loss but it's still a possibility. Get some OTC ear wax softener--DeBrox is great, yellow box at the pharmacy--and use that as directed. I'd follow up with your PCP or an ENT (ear, nose, throat) if not relieved by Monday or Tuesday. There could be some inflammation around the eustacian tube that may require anti inflammatory drops or even nasal spray. If it is wax buildup the ENT should be able to suction the wax from the ear canal. Ho
  11. What game was it that Matt Ryan had 5 interceptions and we won? Interceptions alone don't win or lose a game. And whoever it was that was talking about Brees' passing game, yeah, he had more passing yardage but none of those passed over the goal line. He passed the ball up and down the field but not where it needed to go.

There's one site that will never be seen again and that's the Twin Towers. I have a picture of them from 1996. :'( Anyway, I've never been at Christmas but check out Rockerfeller Center and Central Park and Times Square and FAO Schwartz and stroll down 5th Avenue and venture into Bloomingdales. Go ice skating. Eat a bagel and a slice of pizza and a hot dog from the street vendor. I'm not sure how many limitations, if any, will be in place due to Sandy. Have fun and post lots of pics!!
  13. Um, it's Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. My two favorites are Christmas In Dixie by Alabama, and O Holy Night sung by John Berry. I know several artists have sung O Holy Night, but the way he hits that high note bring chills to me every time. My absolute favorite song ever, and it could be a Christmas song, is "I Have Seen The Light." It's usually a trio of men singing it in church, so it's not always easy to find, but I LOVE it. We were listening to my music list on my iPhone while on a long trip last week and that song came up in the mix. It had been so long since I'd hea
  14. True, true. Anyway, I agree it was tacky and tasteless and an embarrassment to the rest of us.
  15. T-bird, I agree, especially about the shoes. I have to say, though, that it's near-impossible to find a pair of heels under 2"--even wedge heels are astronomically high. I had to hit 3 different stores to find a pair of black, close-toed, heels that didn't look like they came with a pole. I am no coordinated enough to walk in heels higher than that, and I still haven't mastered wedges yet, and if I had to do stilettos I'd end up breaking something!
  16. Even today I saw an article on Yahoo and someone commented that the Falcons didn't win anything, it was that Brees had a lousy game. Yes, he had a lousy game with 5 interceptions, but it's only an interception if the OTHER TEAM catches the ball, right? Without our defense catching those 5, Brees would have had another TD, a few incomplete passes, and more passing yardage. Why won't the Falcons haters at least give us that much? Brees was picked off 5 times--by OUR defense! He had ZERO passing TDs which broke his 54-game streak of passing TDs because of OUR defense, and Michael Turner walk
  17. Depends on what you're wanting (besides the obvious). Viagra is more immediate-acting, where Cialis can be more (I'm trying to find a way to say this without saying this) long-acting. Those drugs dilate the blood vessels which increases blood flow to the "area." The reason the commercials say not to use if you take nitrates for chest pain is because nitrates also open the blood vessels quickly, so combining the two could lead to a drop in BP. They also say to seek medical attention if it's successful for 4 hours, and while guys say that would be a good thing, it's actually quite painful an
  18. They're not meant to be worn as pants, but in a dark color under a long shirt/sweater and/or short-ish dress/skirt they're fine. It's when people wear them AS pants is when it gets ugly.
  19. One thing I love about Paulding, after growing up in Cobb, is the small-town feel. It's very, very rare that we go out in the county and don't run into someone we know. You'll love it here!
  20. Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog! Good game, even though Brees forgot what team he plays for! Turner is great for rushing only when he has a good, open lane, but he can't cut laterally or break through the wall, but he had a heck of an opening drive!
  21. I am so embarrassed by the actions of the baggage handlers at Hartsfield. When the Aints were loading onto their bus at the airport, a couple of baggage handlers were throwing EGGS at the Aints bus! That's tacky and unnecessary and downright rude and disrespectful. People see that and hear it in the news and automatically think all Georgians are like that. Yes, there's a massive rivalry, almost hatred, between the Aints and Falcons, but that crossed the line to childish. I hope they get disciplined and apologize to the Aints.
  22. I knew a guy who became a Cobb County police officer. He was a really nice guy, a newlywed, and was shot to death responding to a suspicious person call in a bad part of Marietta. A friend lost her stepbrother, a GA State Trooper, two years ago in the line of duty. I have the utmost respect for our police and firefighters and military. They truly do risk everything on a daily basis to keep us safe, and I HATE seeing the "bad cop" stories blown out of proportion and calling cops "pigs" and jokes about the doughnut shops. They deserve respect and appreciation. Are there some that are not a
  23. I put the "pro" in procrastination. It drives hubby crazy because his motto is "get 'r done" and mine is "if it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done." Honestly I think a lot of mine is due to ADD. I know what I need to do and plan out my day but the TV or computer call my name. I tell myself I'll just check my email and that turns into 3 hours of online browsing. What is a procrastinator's favorite day? Tomorrow.
  24. Do you know if any of the offices you call on are needing an experienced LPN?
