Harvard Study regarding gun related deaths
Foxmeister replied to Mama Carol's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Those who support gun control will either ignore the Harvard study or claim it is flawed. -
You are absolutely correct. If we want to see good paying jobs, we need to get rid of many of the boondoggles and regulations you speak of, as well as place tariffs on imported products made by US owned companies overseas. This is necessary to bring those jobs back to the US. When we can achieve an unemployment rate of less than 5%, we will see income for the middle-class increase as well as increase the middle-class.

The employee is being compensated for their time. So once again I ask, what does the employee have invested in the company?

I see that as well. We need to stay out of this one. -
What investment has the employee made into the business to "make more profit off their work?" When the employee was interviewed, he/she was told what the position paid and accepted that.

Here's another way to look at it. Right now, those fast food joints paying minimum wage really don't expect anyone who applies to have any work experience or education. If they doubled the pay, these companies will start looking to fill their vacancies with people who have more work experience and more education. What happens to all those high school kids looking for part-time jobs or college students who don't have much work experience?

I read the penalty for the first year was 1% of gross income, the next year 2%, and the following year 2.5%. Don't forget the 27 taxes are a part of ObamaCare either. ObamaCare was designed to do two things. The first was to raise taxes on the working poor and middle-class without it appearing so. The tax penalties for not having medical insurance and the other taxes that have been revealed in the plan do just that. The second thing ObamaCare was designed to do was FAIL with the intent to create a single payer health care system that would give the government control over your health c

So what?

If fast food workers pay doubled, would that really benefit anyone? The prices of of fast food would increase accordingly. Once that increased, what would it do for sales? They would drop. This would lead to more fast food places closing and those employees losing their jobs. The US manufacturing that went overseas didn't relocate to save on wages. They left this country because of all the stupid regulations the EPA put in place that made it nearly impossible to make a profit. Taxes are also another reason why so many left the country. If we repeal those costly but needless EPA regu

Your Opinion on military conflict with Syria

Sada also told US and British intelligence officials the same thing. Also recall prior to our invasion of Iraq, satellite imagery was released to the news showing Iraqi military convoys crossing into Syria and these reports also stated intelligence agencies reporting these convoys were transporting WMDs. Saddam cut a deal to hide them in Syria. I have yet to see a news report where this administration has been asked how Syria came to possess WMDs. Is it because answering the question would vindicate Bush? -
It's not the number of times a president issues an executive order. The issue should be what the executive orders are for.

Maybe you get bad customer service because you...
Foxmeister replied to RhondaW's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Perhaps some businesses think it's the "low" prices they put on their merchandise that will compensate for the lack of product knowledge and training they provide their employees. Perhaps too, many of these stores have a difficult time finding intelligent enough applicants that can retain what they are taught. Most likely it's a combination of the two. How old was this employee? I think part of the problem is our educational system. It does irk me though to ask a sales associate questions about a product and you can tell they are just making stuff up as they go along. -

I find it difficult to find good customer service like you used to. I've run into many employees who have little to no knowledge of the products they're selling. You can often tell when they are making crap up. A lot of this I blame on the lack of training the store provides their employees. -
Hopefully we will have a normal Winter.

The best advice I can give you is to consult with an attorney.

More reason to better secure our borders. -
Here's a chart from the CDC that shows it does exist in the southern states. What they reporting is confirmed cases. Isn't it up to doctors and county health departments to report their findings to the CDC? If they don't do that, then how can you hold the CDC responsible? Here is a chart from the American Lyme Disease Foundation that shows where Lyme Disease is most prevalent.

I know for a fact people get Lyme disease in the northern states because I know a few who had it.

I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP. I couldn't stand the mask, so switched to the nasal pillows. Before using the CPAP, I would be tired all the time and would always fall asleep while watching TV. Since sleeping using the CPAP, I feel like a new man.

I'm in favor of legalizing marijuana and regulating it just like the tobacco and alcohol industries. It would put the criminals out of business in this area. -
I'll bet while driving to and from Stone Mountain, the OP was checking his mirrors quite often to make sure it was clear to change lanes and using his turn signals when turning. The OP most likely took all precautions to ensure the drive to and from would be as safe as possible.

Exactly. In the military we called it "situational awareness."
