You keep touting this reform as a good thing. You must either be blind as heck or stupid as hell. How is it affordable if someone has to pay $400 a month with an annual deductible of $2,000 or more? A person would be better off paying for just catastrophic health care insurance.

More and more stuff comes out showing how ObamaCare is not going to provide affordable health care as the Democrats claim. I'm sorry, but $400 a month and $2,000 or more annual deductibles is not affordable health insurance for the majority of the people this program promised to benefit. Will one of you who still supports this reform please explain how this is affordable to those people?

I'm glad to see he wasn't seriously injured. I ride a motorcycle and it just ticks me off that people don't pay attention to us all. I've had several close calls where people turned in front of me and then claimed they didn't see me. People need to pay more attention when they drive.

I was reading the news the other day and saw a news story where schools are now using nerf balls to play dodgeball with.

what do you think about the goverment shutdown?
Foxmeister replied to Mrskittycat's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I bet a lot of people with diabetes and high blood pressure don't find insurance with a $10,000 deductible a very good deal. I bet they most likely think buying it isn't worth it. -

CGI Group was awarded the contract in 2011, to build the website for $93M. That's quite a chunk of change for a site that is not working the way it should be; especially when the administration was touting 14M people in this country didn't have health care insurance. Setting up the site to open on Oct. 1 and giving 14M people until Dec. 31 to sign up really is a short time frame without adequate testing to ensure there would be no glitches. The problems the site is having is more proof ObamaCare is not ready and the individual mandate should be postponed another year. I predict there will -
Rep. John Lewis Arrested In DC Demonstration
Foxmeister replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They put up barricades to close off access to monuments, but allow a demonstration to occur because of First Amendment rights. Wait a second, the demonstration was in support of immigration reform that gives amnesty to illegal aliens a platform the left strongly supports. If this were a demonstration opposing amnesty for illegals, the demonstration would never have been allowed using the government shutdown as an excuse. -
Congratulations to your son. The Riverwalk in San Antonio is beautiful as is the Japanese Tea Garden in Brackenridge Park. The San Antonio Zoo is also really good. I also recommend going up the Tower of Americas as it will give you a spectacular view of San Antonio. There is a restaurant at the top of the Tower called Chart House. Not only do you have a great view up there while eating, but the restaurant revolves so the view gradually changes while you eat. I enjoyed going through the Alamo, but it seemed out of place in the center of a modern city. Across the street from the Alam

It would only be a few flights a week. What's the big deal? I see this as a good thing for the local economy.

I Can't Wait to See the prices of Insurance

So let me get this straight; it would be a conservative move on the part of a state to increase spending on health care and raise taxes to pay for it. -
I wonder if the government used a union shop to develop the software and install the servers and everything else necessary for the site?
-
This administration is telling us that the reason so many people are going to the site is because they WANT to sign up. Everyone I've talked to who has attempted to go to the site are telling me they are doing so only out of curiosity. They want to know what their premiums would be and what coverage those plans would actually provide. A few have been successful in getting, found out what their premiums would be and if they qualified or not for a subsidy; but still aren't sure what the plans provide.

If the government shuts down, who do you blame?
Foxmeister replied to kwood's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You're wrong in your assumption that I was setting this up to favor Republicans. I'm pissed at both sides of the aisle. I do have to say though, the Democrats are just as guilty at obstructing what a Republican president wants. BTW, it wasn't the GOP who started the birth certificate deal. -

That's been the problem with this administration all along; a lack of leadership. He is more than willing to negotiate with Iran over their nuclear program, but he's completely unwilling to negotiate with the Republicans on ObamaCare. He and the other Democrats are accusing Republicans of acting like children because they can't get 100% of what they want? That's nothing more than hypocrisy on their part as they are the same way. Everyone knows ObamaCare has a lot of problems and is causing problems for the economy. Why don't they just admit that and work with the Republicans to come u -

Obama claims ObamaCare will make it possible to provide "affordable" health insurance for the 15% of Americans who currently are without it. I would not be surprised the majority of that 15% are in the same situation you are in. They simply will not be able to afford it through an exchange because their income is stretched thin now with having to pay the rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, and the costs of transportation to and from work. There are a lot of people here and on the left in Congress who seem to think because someone who makes $30,000 a year, they should be able to afford $ -
Pernell Roberts was partially bald while doing Bonanza. He wore a toupee to cover it up. The Rockford Files was a great show. I did catch a blooper on one episode. It was in 1977; he was driving a 77 Firebird chasing a bad guy up a mountain road. His car spun out and he lost him. When he got out and stood at the front of the car, the Firebird was suddenly a 76.

Bicyclists should have to obey the same traffic laws as motorists while riding their bicycles on the road.

Then is health care in France really any better than in the United States? How many health care facilities are being shut down here because the government can't afford to fund them?
-
France where babies are born on fire trucks because cost cutting measures are closing facilities in small towns.

This isn't a new policy. It's reinstating a policy that existed several years ago and was very much needed back. There were many cases where some soldiers were getting gang related tats, racist tats, and other tats that were offensive where they were visible above the necks and below the knees. I saw a soldier who got a tattoo of a slashed throat on his throat. He thought it was "cool." I have two tattoos. Each are on my upper arms. One is of a Les Paul guitar and the other is an eagle with an American flag. Neither could be seen while I was in uniform, even while wearing short-sl

Single payer health care is socialized medicine. You call yourself a conservative, but conservatives do not believe in socialism.

They weren't at the bus stop, therefor it isn't the school's responsibility.

Are these capped out of pocket expenses what a person has to pay before the insurance purchased on the exchange can be used? Or does it mean if you purchase a plan that covers 75%, your 25% is capped at those out of pocket expenses?
