  1. I heard a news story about this yesterday. The government officials of DC encouraged Walmart to come build stores in three different economically depressed areas of DC. There were no other national retailers in any of these areas and the DC officials claimed the people living in these areas and thus resulted in the local residents having to pay higher retail prices at locally owned businesses. What the DC officials did was to bait Walmart to come there. Walmart responded as their business models showed they could operate in those three locations profitably. Apparently, there were membe
  2. I don't think anyone is responding because your question and follow up posts are utterly ridiculous.
  3. There are other methods other than aboortzion when it comes to family planning and preventing unwanted pregnancies. Birth control and abstinence comes to mind.
  4. It amazes me how someone seems to think only conservatives drink bottled water. I know a lot of liberals who drink bottled water as well. This topic was nothing more than trolling.
  5. Academic studies show only .6% of late term aboortzions by women who were pregnant as a result of rape or incest. That statistic alone confuses me as to why Georgia Right to life opposes this legislation. One of their leaders came out and said something to the effect of if all of them can't be saved, none of them will be saved. Keeping in mind the statistic I gave earlier, this legislation would prevent aboortzions of 99.4% of babies whose mothers are considering aboortzion after 20 weeks of pregnancy. One would think Georgia Right to Life would support this and the work on influenc
  6. You gotta be kidding me. That's what the new stadium is going to look like? Now that's embarrassing.
  7. I read an article a couple of years ago where coyotes are showing up in states that never had them before, i.e. the Great Lake states.
  8. There are all kinds of coyotes in the woods of Picket's Mill.
  9. I'm going with Regan because he was the best president during my lifetime so far.
  10. Mediation is a requirement for property settlements in Paulding County.
  11. There were news stories prior to the invasion of Iraq, even during the Clinton administration reporting Saddam was sending WMDs to Syria for safekeeping. There was even a former Iraqi general who had fled Iraq and was living in England who said Saddam had transported many WMDs to Syria for safekeeping. Now we are seeing news reports where our current administration is stating Syria's current regime is using WMDs on its own people.
  12. It is possible for a non-high school graduate to enlist into the Army. Even with a GED, an applicant is considered a non-high school graduate and has to achieve a higher Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) score than that required of a high school graduate. The AFQT score is derived from four of ten sections of the Armed Services Aptitude Battery test. Those four sections are Arithmetic Reasoning (story problem math), Mathematics Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, and Word Knowledge. The remaining six parts of the test consists of aptitude sections that determine which military occupat
  13. No crime in the military has to be reported to the commander. The victim can go directly to the military police and report it.
  14. When someone leaves their 12-yr old at home for a short while, the doors to the home can be locked preventing others from just walking in. When one drops their 12-yr old off at the library, the doors are open for anyone to come in. The child is safer at home without parental supervision than they would be unattended at the library. That's the difference.
  15. I served in the military for 25 years and deployed 4 times. I first enlisted in 1974. I remember in 1974, I met a young lady who was attending college and living at home with her parents. She and I were going out on a date and I went to her parent's home to pick her up. Her father told me he wasn't going to allow me to go out with his daughter because I was in the Army. He said all guys in the Army want from a woman is one thing - sex. I asked him what made him believe that. His response, "Because I was in the Army at one time." So because he was that way in the Army, he believed every
  16. The subdivision I lived in while growing up in Augusta didn't have sidewalks. We had no choice but to walk in the street; however, we always walked next to the curb. We also would play touch football in the street, but would move out of the way when cars were coming. The speed limit in our neighborhood was 15mph and we rarely had anyone speeding down the streets. I think the speed limit in subdivisions should be no more than 15mph because of the children.
  17. I saw this about the tea kettle on the news yesterday. I really had to look at it to see any resemblance to Hitler. Had a resemblance to Hitler not been mentioned, I probably would have never seen it. The handle to me looks like a design not to resemble Hitler's hairline, but to give a person a better grip when pouring hot water from the kettle. I think people are taking this Hitler resemblance a little too far. It's a tea kettle for crying out loud.
  18. I remember seeing the movie when it was first released in the theaters. Half-way through I realized I wasted my money and my time watching it.
  19. How is a church inserting themselves into a political or civil rights issue if they decide to withdraw their sponsorship of a Boy Scout troop because of BSA's decision to allow openly gay boys into their organization? The church has the right to sponsor or not sponsor a troop; do they not? If the church views homosexuality as a sin and feels sponsoring an organization that condones that sin, they have the right to disassociate themselves from the organization whether you like it or not.
  20. God is forgiving, but He does judge. I still stand by my statement that a church should not support an organization that accepts a sinful act as being an acceptable thing to do. That's exactly what the BSA is doing by allowing homosexuals amongst their ranks.
  21. Should a church support an organization that says a sin is ok? Would that not contradict the church's belief that sin is wrong?
  22. I find it a shame that the BSA changed its policy regarding homosexuality because of the threat of losing financial contributions from corporations. The backlash is going to hurt the organization as many churches that sponsor troops will drop their sponsorship based upon their own principles. The BSA would have been better off standing its ground and kept their original position in place.
  23. Very well thank you. I hope you're doing well.
