Loss of middle class, New Deal?, minimum wages
Foxmeister replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Is the economy dependent upon the poultry industry? Wages are always going to drop when the available supply of labor far exceeds the demand for it. This is also why the middle-class is shrinking. The only way to remedy these is to bring unemployment down by creating more jobs. Now the big question is, "How can more jobs be created?" Granted many corporations are making nice profits, but why aren't they creating more jobs; and where jobs are being created, why are more of them part-time rather than full-time? Why has much of our manufacturing moved overseas? Don't give me the BS -
I've found only one article and it said only about 100 showed up.

Once again, I say we have no dog in this fight. Assad's regime has killed over 100K civilians; men, women, and children using conventional weapons and we did absolutely nothing. Now that he's alleged to have killed 1,400 with chemical weapons. Dead is dead regardless of how the deaths occurred. This administration wants to punish him by launching missiles into Syria that will undoubtedly have collateral damage resulting in the death and maiming of innocent men, women, and children because this administration says Assad needs to be punished. Many of you have posted complaints when the U

How would Assad be able to deploy chemical weapons within our borders? I agree. We have enough oil resources to remove our dependency on foreign oil if we would just drill more of it.
-
A martyr would attack who; the US? How? Syria doesn't have intercontinental missiles that could reach our shores. So where is the threat?
-
I don't think he did a good job convincing the majority of Americans that chemical weapons in Syria is a danger to the US. He still seems geared to eventually making a military strike in Syria. If Syria were to decide not to turn their chemical weapons over to the "international community," what good would a military strike against Syria do? If we target Syrian military installations, does the president really believe that al Assad would keep them and anything else of military value there? Missile strikes would be no more effective than those cruise missiles Clinton had launched on e

How many people has he threatened with a gun? According to the news reports coming out regarding this incident, a gun was not involved. It's amazing how many here have this guy convicted without even knowing all the facts. I've seen many reports in divorces, especially bad ones where one spouse will make false accusations against the other and involve the police. For all we know, this may be one of those.

At any rate, I'm glad he's willing to vote against military action if it ever comes up for a vote.
-
That's the same response I got from him, word for word.

Are the missiles smart enough to differentiate between bad buys and innocent people Eddie? No they're not. They kill and maim indiscriminately where they hit and explode. It sounds to me as if you're in favor of launching missiles into Syria for the purpose of taking out Assad. Let's say that happened. What would be the next step you would propose?

I suggest you read again what I posted. I said the GOVERNMENT. I contribute the effects of ObamaCare on this economy to this administration because it was this administration that pushed it and signed it into law. You can thank Jimmy Carter and the Democrats for the crash of the housing market. They're the ones who passed the act in 1977. If you recall, there were several times Bush called for reform in this area because what was going to happen. The Democrats said he was full of sheeze. Also recall how Barney Franks said there was no problem, that the concerns expressed by the Bus

Apparently you have failed to remember Georges Sada, a former Iraqi air force general who had fled Iraq for England before we invaded Iraq. He told of how after an earthquake in Syria, Saddam under the guise of providing humanitarian aide to the Syrians was actually flying WMDs there for hiding. You also fail to remember satellite imagery being shown on the news of large Iraqi military convoys crossing the border into Syria. Intelligence reporting stated these convoys were transporting WMDs into Syria for safekeeping. Now it has been proven Syria has WMDs. Coincidence Eddie?

The legislation you refer to failed in immigration reform because the Congress who passed it refused to enforce all of it. The Democrats who held the majority in both Houses of Congress included tighter border security measures in that legislation. They included it to get Regan to agree to giving those illegals amnesty. Once Regan signed the legislation into law, those same Democrats did absolutely nothing to increase security on our borders. You can thank those Democrats for the illegal immigrant population we have today as well as all the problems associated with it. The only thing

A corporation is an organization made up of people. It's controlled by people. Without a person or people, a corporation cannot do a dang thing. I suggest you read some business journals and articles written by CEOs and CFOs. Perhaps you would learn why so much of our manufacturing has moved overseas. You'd also learn why this current economy and ObamaCare has corporations holding their money and not reinvesting in itself and creating more jobs. There have been many links posted on this site how companies are only hiring part-time because ObamaCare is too costly. Job growth has

IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID!!!! Good gosh people what the heck do you expect when unemployment numbers are high and millions have given up on looking for a job. You're going to have a large percentage of people who make minimum wage or slightly above when the available supply of labor is far greater than the demand for it. Too many of you are pointing your fingers at the large corporations and the rich as if they are some evil entity out to screw the American people, but the real blame falls upon the government. It's the government that has created a tax code that has sent many manufac

Why is it odd? Al Qaeda has killed lots of Muslims, so has the Taliban. Al Qaeda would love to see Syria become a true Islamic state just as they and the Taliban want Afghanistan to be a true Islamic state. Any Muslim who opposes their point of view is not a true Muslim in their eyes.

I sent emails to our two senators encouraging them to oppose US strikes on Syria.

Here's an interesting article about the rebels in Syria. It certainly gives me more reasons why I can't support US involvement in Syria.
-
There is no conclusive evidence the Syrian government is responsible for the use of chemical weapons. For all we know, al Qaeda did it. It would be a huge mistake for the US to take military action of any kind in Syria. Attacks would most likely result in the economy being devastated around the world. Iran states they would attack Israel if we attack Syria. Some seem to think Iran wouldn't, but what if they did; is the world prepared for what would follow? Are the rebels any better than the Syrian government? We are now seeing atrocities caused by them; eating dead soldiers hearts an

I'm not surprised. I'm also not surprised to see some people post on this topic in support of FF workers getting $15/hr. They probably want their kids to earn more so they can start charging them room and board.
