Do you ever go to the grocery store AT NIGHT?
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to subby1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Subby, when I worked full time and my son was little, I did the same thing. I usually went on Sunday night after he was in bed and his Dad was there with him. I could get so much done and in far less time and little aggravation. Mondays were my day off for many years so I'd go late and actually enjoy it! -
That's just what happens when a human being takes an interest in any story. If you can watch all of the coverage and not make conclusions in your own mind whether they are "fair" or not, I guess you are better than the rest of us. You'd have a hard time convincing me that you are inerrantly just and above imaging different scenarios based on what you hear, read and watch.

Not being a slave to anyone over money is something few of us will ever enjoy. Good for you! I'm sure it wont be easy but NO QUESTION it will be worth it!

Very true BUT remember the Elizabeth Smart break? It was when a random woman noticed a blonde girl wearing a burka sort of thing and thought it looked suspicious. ONe person. One look and one phonecall set her free from those monsters. Just like with the Susan Smith case, they could very well be waiting until they feel they have a firm case against whomever they are suspecting. I have SERIOUS doubts that this woman could have covered her tracks, or almost anyone else could either, under these circumstances for well into the second week. Not to say it is black and white at all but I really

Wow, CO! I am super impressed. That is awesome and to be commended. I'll have to take that as my own personal challenge. -

You know, when I started educating myself on the food we buy from big stores, thats when I realized how great farmers markets are. Not only are they almost always local farmers who do not participate in government contracts that keep them WAY under the poverty level and very restricted when it comes to animal treatment and the chemicals in our food. Those chemicals just simply are not there with the food you buy locally. They usually cannot work for a big company like Tyson and sell locally, the government makes that punishable by law and carries a PRISON SENTENCE if they do. So, thats even -

Bookworm, if I lived anywhere near you, I would love to shop with you. I love mom and pop businesses and support them every chance I get from farmers markets to Etsy things online from local friends. I really hate what the box stores have done to small business, especially bookstores. One of my favorite things to do in all of life is to go into a small bookstore, get a hot cup of coffee or tea, and take my sweeeeet time. When my son was growing up, we did that a lot, at least once a month and always on a rainy day. He made me cry last month when in a note he left me, he said that going to boo -

I am SO happy to hear it! I'm really glad you all are doing so well there. The food, service and atmosphere is a great combination. I tried to eat with you guys 2 months ago when I was visiting in town but you werent open for dinner yet. I was sad . I only had a couple hours and was craving Olive Tree! Ill be there again in Nov though. Congratulations on the new room! -
Wow. You really are missing the point.Government regulating and capping prices ALWAYS stifles competetion. You end up with no price competition and a monopoly which gives you zero choice and nowhere to move your business to once prices soar and horrible service becomes the norm. You become a slave instead of being the consumer in control of supply and demand. If you are willing to trade your individual rights for a sense of safety, go ahead and join the masses. Women, by in large gravitate to that notion, but many men follow. I'll take my individual liberty and take my chances, thanks.

Thanks! I needed to same info and was dreading the process. -
Exactly. Libs have a way of re-packaging these moves to look as if they are "saving" us money. Regulating business is ALWAYS bad. ALWAYS negative, ALWAYS costs the consumer more in the end , and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS is far less productive and stifles competetion which is the ONLY way any business grows and gains a profit. And, most importantly to we consumers, keeps costs down.

LOVE Las Palmas. Its a step up from basic mexican food restaurants who all have the same menu, just different combo numbers . They usually have a seafood special on the weekends. It's always great.

Agreed! That in and of itself would make firm believers out of many "would be" criminals.

Me too. I was afraid once that my car was about to die on Buchanan Hwy. I was soooo nervous b/c I feel the same way about it as you do about 61. I dont like 61 either. I remember thinking that I'd rather it be on almost any other PC road but that one(hwy 120 Buchanan hwy). Too many curves, hills, driveways with only 2 lanes and no room for error on both of them.

I wholeheartedly agree. We treated them horribly. It's one of those parts of history that you read, ponder and just cant understand why they did what they did...other than just basic sefishness and greed.

thats great. He was really sweet to do that. You are good people, LPPT.

Breathtaking. Good for her! How nice to have a home in such a beautiful place. She'd have to kick me out . -
After moving to Valdosta, the thing that has been the biggest change is the traffic. The lack of any. I can drive all the way across town in literally about 12 mins during either "rush hour". It's not that it's the 'sticks' here b/c all in all it really isnt. But, it's a far cry from metro Atl. I was at the bank this week and the teller asked me where exactly Kennesaw was(which is on my drivers license. Yeah, I nknow. I gotta change it!). I told her where it is and she jumped right into how drivers dont know "what that stick coming from the steering wheel is"(blinker)and went on to tell me al

Yeah, I agree...jealousy. Which is so ridiculous. But, still funny. Even better he had Paulding tags . I'm sure we will get a good clue as to who he is in this thread.

Thanks, TC. I love documentaries and know next to nothing about modern Native American Indians. Gonna curl up and watch.
