Ok, first of all, I totally missed the wild hair post. Secondly, I need to look through your friends list....

Congrats!!

CONGRATS on your success and thanks for the healthy tips! I've been altering my recipes and buying in bulk/on sale. I can easily try some of your tips with what I have available! And BORED: I'll come over with my recipe box and we'll get you all hooked up. You can still be a lazy cook and it'll taste good, I promise. And you're not THAT big, girl, so don't be so down on yourself. You can also come walk with me at the park, if you want. You're close enough that I can pick you up as I swing by. Let me know...I can do mornings, nine to eleven (anywhere in there) or most evenings aft

Thanks for the kind words. I do feel better, but not putting pressure on myself seems to be what works. No one asked me to do this. My husband is perfectly happy with the way I look (trust me, I can tell). I started at a size 16 and am now a 14, some 12's. I'm closer to where I want to be and I'm happy with the process. Sure, it would go faster if I cut calories down to 1,000 and added an extra hour of work outs each day, but I also want to get in a routine that I will be more likely to stick with and I hate feeling deprived or like I'm starving myself. THAT makes everything feel harder

You go girl!! Congrats on your progress, don't think about it as slow-going, don't think about the long-term "after" goal, think about today. Just today. And you're a hottie no matter what size you wear!! And yay on the Sam's comment. I so admit to taking the family "out" to eat at the Sam's snack counter....but they also offer salad for a low price, they have veggie pizza (one slice is perfectly filling for me, the kids share one), low fat yogurt, the hotdogs are Kosher beef (healthiest choice available), unsalted soft pretzels, and they offer other healthy choices. I can feed my wh

This is so sad. That's the point of Safe Haven....except that I think they should extend the time from 7 days after birth to the first year. People don't realize how hard taking care of an infant is until they're actually caring for an infant. I personally LOVE being a mom. When I was expecting the oldest, I fully expected to "download" the baby and be back at work immediately. By the end of week one, I extended my family leave from six to twelve weeks...and never went back to the full time job. As for this precious child....There are so many people out there who would have gladly

I've recently started doing the same. I've been working out, but I don't diet either. I just eat smaller portions and limit the super yummy things. For example, the past week I've baked 13 cakes (fall festivals) and made 58 treat bags stuffed with candy and I actually did not sample any of it! I did chew the heck out of some gum, however.....I also don't weigh myself until I see a difference in my clothes, about once every three to four weeks. I literally keep the scale out of sight, so I'm not thinking about the number itself. The first weigh in, last week: down seventeen pounds over

Need New Vehicle... Information Requested

If you're looking for a decent used van, try the place next to CVS on Dallas Hwy. They're funded by "Credit Acceptance" and it's true, they will finance anyone with an income. You need to provide proof of income, at least fifteen references....something like that (I know it's a lot). Basically, just go and "look", they'll tell you everything you'll need. I told them what I wanted and what I wanted to pay. They let me test drive it and I did have a mechanic-friend with me, since it was an "As Is" sale. The van was nice, low milage, fully loaded, etc. Still LOVE it three years later. -
Props to the big deptartment store in Hiram....

I've had a very similar experience, only with children's toys. They replaced a toy that was well used and I honestly was trying to purchase another one. But it was within a year of original purchase, so they completely replaced it free of charge. I love their Christmas catalogue, too. We always find really neat toys and the prices listed are awesome, but many times, the actual price when I called to order was 25-50% lower then I originally budgeted, at least on the stuff I wanted. It's become my "go-to" place, especially during the holidays. -
That's the difference I noticed with Tanner. YOUR Doctor, the one you see for nine months? THAT'S who delivers you at Tanner....unless there's an emergency, of course. That was my deciding factor in choosing them. I'm a modest person and it's uncomfortable enough being preggers. I didn't want to go through the pregnancy with one Doctor and then have a stranger--or an intern--when the hard part started, especially worried about risks. I had one born in the afternoon and one in the early, early morning and Dr. V was right there with both, the whole time. I remember asking him if he ever

Just by my own count, it was the thread about kids at the pride festival. Which was a GREAT thread! Very interesting read.

Me too. I almost died in their ER eleven years ago, I bled out during a miscarriage and was left alone for hours. My husband had to go to my personal doctor's office and physically bring her to the ER or I would be dead now. By the time she got there, I was completely jaundice and immediately taken in to emergency surgery. I remember nothing but waking up with my husband and father praying over me (no one thought I'd make it). For this reason, I will never return to ANY Wellstar hospital for any life-threatening emergency. (the doctor left Wellstar that same year and is now at Tanner i

Ghost story time! (it's a real story AND contest entry)

Those ARE great stories! Bored, yours reminds me of my Grandfather's "visits". He died in 1989 and loved frogs in real life--there's even an old family story about him pretending to be a frog and he ended up on the roof (Galveston, Tx. roof was maybe ten feet off the ground). So he's up there, hopping around, going "ribbit", and he lost his footing and fell. He was perfectly fine, except he broke his nose. His nose! Lol. Anyway, several members of the family often find frogs around our houses. Not just the live critters, but small frog stuffed animals, frog stickers, even a frog -
Didn't mean to imply yours weren't....I saw were you posted that your hubby came running in. MY husband doesn't always stay right with them. He told me recently to chill, that they're older now, they're big enough (and I heard the whole "when I was a kid, we left at 8am and stayed gone until dark and no one had a cell phone"....) I am very anal about at least one of us watching when mine are outside (Maybe too much Nancy Grace when i was preggers?). I'm also the mom that holds their hands TIGHT when we go from car to store. I am absolutely dreading when they're old enough to dri

MMMM....Mexican..... This was my experience, but honestly, I haven't tried any Mexican places around here in over three years. We've been doing the cook at home thing (cheaper) and I've created some tasty dishes that fall into the Mexican category but i don't know what to call them. Our all time fav. place is San Marcos...the closest one is at the Valley exit, the first Alabama exit off 85. But I am willing to try around here again.

Thanks for letting some of us know about Revenge...i'll check it out. How's PanAm and Terra Nova? Worth watching or don't waste my time?

AWESOME! Thanks for posting, especially this specific one, I will be out to see you!! But I won't tell you its me.... (so I can stay honest in my posts and not worry about what people think of me)

Great thread. I am a new netflicks subscriber (starting my third month), and only the streaming services. I did notice that recently, some choices disappeared, but there were many many many new ones to check out. Maybe it because we're new, but we've got so many choices, the hard part is what to watch first. I also use hulu, the free version, and I get a whole lot out of the two services combined. To the point that I completely cancelled the cable. I've never used Redbox, which is no reason, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't know about the other services, I'm stil

WOW! The original post is the EXACT reason why I still don't let the little ones play outside without my husband or I out there with them!! Of course, rough play still happens when they're supervised, but at least one of us is right there to start the kisses! I sure hope today is uneventful for you!

Hey PM, Garrison's a great guy. So's Vic West. You've got nothing to worry about.

Lol because I've gotten "yelled" at for promoting my business when I don't really have a business, other then my kids. I was just trying to avoid another scolding.
