Quick thinking about the battery and of course you would unplug the laptop too, if needed. Well, if you need any help finding a keyboard or LCD screen feel free to call me and I will be happy to help.

Glad to see your laptop survived the ordeal. Liquids can really do some damage especially since it doesn't get along with electricity...

Well, it certainly could be overheating but there are others problems that could be the cause. For instance, shutting down and restarting can tell me a lot. So, which is it doing....shutting down or restarting? Also, is it a laptop or desktop? PM Sent. I'll get to the bottom of this.. Steven Computer Rescue of West Georgia Thanks for recommendations folks! -
If you are correct then you have both spyware and virus(es) on your computer. If this is true then you may not be able to remove it by traditional means but you can always try. Avira AntiVir is a good choice for Virus and Spyware Removal. (AVG & Avast are good too) Malwarebytes is a good choice for Spyware Removal. (Spybot & Super Antispyware are good too) All are free. Please disconnect from the internet as you may be allowing the viruses/spyware to download more onto your computer. Good luck! PM Sent. Steven Computer Rescue of West Georgia

Well, I am the first to say stop using IE. It is just too "heavy" and full of issues. Firefox and Chrome are good. However, the root of the issue may be related to needing Java and Adobe Flash. Flash in particular is used to run a great deal of content on this site and if your version is old or you do not have flash installed you will have issues. Usually, however your browser will inform you if you lack a plug-in (flash) so it may simply be that your flash is out of date. Adobe Flash Only Flash. Uncheck google, mcafee, or any other optional download. Java is also used on sites l

Rescued another one! It is so nice to get such a raving review! Everyone had ruled your computer dead and said to buy a new one but that was too easy of an answer. Your computer should last you many more years with the occasional tune-up and you will have gotten your monies worth out of that computer for sure! Like I tell folks it never hurts to give me a call. You never know I might just rescue you too! Have a great day bigsky and p.commers! Steven Computer Rescue of West Georgia

Well, if your listening I will talk.. The newer monitors (flat screen) can be repaired because they are much more like a computer then the older, larger monitors. In flat screen (LCD/LED) monitors you'll typically find a video/motherboard with wires and such going to built cameras, lights, speakers ect. Any ways there are parts that can become over heated and explode/burn up. We can remove and replace them for a few dollars. Labor is the largest cost. However, even with labor you can save $50+ compared to buying a new monitor and expect the same life span or more. Monitors have

Give me a call as I can sometimes repair these flat screen monitors cheaper then buying a new one. There are parts and pieces that can be physically replaced. The call is free and I'll be glad answer any questions. Steven Computer Rescue of West Georgia

What kind of monitor do you have? Flat screen and thin or one of the older monitors that are big and sqaure..

PM sent. I look forward to talking with you tomorrow bigsky.

Upgrading a computer is a general term. You can upgrade one part or you can rebuild(upgrade) an entire computer. Replacing one part is cheaper then rebuilding a computer or buying new. I would have a few questions to ask you before I could make a final decision because in the end it is all about getting more bang for your buck. Saving you money! What is your reason for wanting to upgrade or buy a new computer? In other words, is it because your computer is slow? Want to upgrade to Windows 7? System too old for a game or software you want to run? Other reason? Explain please.

Welcome! You are among friends!

Great! I am glad you got it to work! Now use that new browser to spend more time on Paulding.com... Happy computing folks! Steven Computer Rescue of West Georgia

You may also change browsers. In other words, if you are using Internet Explore (Blue "E") try using Firefox. Just download and try. I have found IE to be unstable and switched to Firefox years ago. Good luck, Steven Computer Rescue of West Georgia

Well it could be Facebook doing maintenance or upgrades. It is also possible that your computer has at the very least Spyware which could be blocking or slowing down your connection/internet. Also, for those with slow connections consider that it could be your internet provider. Steven Computer Rescue of West Georgia

Give me a call and I will walk you through a couple of things. If it works we'll let everyone else know about it! Sometimes it is simply your internet explore settings. Could also be that you do have malicious(Spyware & Viruses) content on your computer and it needs to be removed for your security and your computers stability. One thing everyone can check for is tool bars. Do you have tool bars if so, disable them. Such tool bars may be Google, yahoo ect. Again, call me if the tool bar trick doesn't solve the issue and I will see what I can do to walk you through a solution.

MSE is good. You may also use Avast, Avira AntiVir, or AVG. All are free. Just remember that there are no full proof, 100% secure anti-virus protection programs available purchased or free. Good computing habits are the key to avoiding viruses.

Java is important and should be kept up to date. Windows Updates are important and can be critical to your computers security and performance. Sometimes restarting the computer can be a quick fix. Also, turning off your windows firewall, anti-virus program, and third-party firewall can aid in getting these updates installed. Remember to turn them back on when done. As for your other programs they do not appear to be important. What you are doing is a example of part of our "Computer Tune-Up" service we do regularly for many residential and businesses in our tri-county service
