I was a cashier in hardware at the Sears in Douglasville, but they work the same throughout every dept. Same company for all service plans on major appliances and lawn mowers. Sears thrives on selling those plans to customers. They even threaten employees with termination if they do not sale so many per month. This is an honest to God true story. Those service plans and credit apps. This is part of the reason for the very high turn over rate, because they fire people all of the time if they do not meet their quotas. We the employees knew they were not really worth it, but of course we could no

Little bit of 411 about those extended warranties/service plans. I worked for sears, and sears pushed those heavily. Sears got a cut of each service plan purchased. I had numerous customers come up to me complaining about all of the red tape when they had to call someone on an issue. You go through a 3rd party, not the company the appliance is purchased through. Most companies already offer warranties for so long on any appliance. I had one and kept it clean. I bought a cleaner specifically for smooth top ranges at Home depot. I didn't have to have it serviced any the entire 5 yrs I owned it b

I personally would never open the door either, even if I can see who it is. I know those door to door sales people do not like to take no for an answer. They won't shut up. The only sales person I miss coming to the door is the Charles chips man. Those were the days where we didn't have to worry about home invasions or shady people. I bought those steaks one time off of one of those trucks. Waste of money in my opinion. Tiny little ribeyes, and they were not good at all. The kirby people use the free carpet cleaning tactic to push their vacuum cleaner off on you. They'll clean one little sp

Agreed. All of those emo, goth and grindcore kids are a tight group. They all seem to know each other some how. Yep I am raising one of those grindcore kids. His music gives me a migraine, but he doesn't give me any problems(knock on wood). I am not sure how well his friend knows Brandon, but they are having band practice this weekend. Last weekend about 20 other kids showed up to listen to them practice. If I have to I will talk to his friends Grandmother to BOLO for Brandon, just in case he shows up at the house.

A van offering carpet cleaning sounds like kirby sales people to me. A group of them ride around in a van going door to door in neighborhoods to sale those expensive vacuum cleaners. I know someone who tried doing that for 2 weeks, and she told me what they do. I am on 52 acres, so luckily I do not have to deal with solicitors of any sorts. There's a big no tresspassing sign up at the end of my driveway on the gate.

A lot of teens running away lately. Life is not greener on the other side, even though so many of them think that. I still say to stake out the 7 venue tomorrow night. I am thinking that there's a pretty big show up there tomorrow. The emo, goth, grindcore kids are all a tight knit bunch so chances are one of them knows something. The kids normally start getting there around 6-7 pm. Some get there even earlier and just hang out in the parking lot, until the show starts.

Got a FB page add the Paulding Co. Sheriff Dept to your friend list!

On it already as well. : ) -
I already told my son if any of them knows where he is at, and do not speak up that they should be ashamed of themselves. How old is Brandon? I assume he is under 18, right? Ok so what charges is this Kristie looking at for harboring a teenage runaway? I'd personally go ahead and contact the newspapers in the area. If the news won't run a story, surely to goodness the Douglas co. sentinel will, since Arbor Place is supposed to be the last place he was at. I've got a ton of connections at the Sheriffs dept. and the police dept. Let me know, and I can get the word out in about 10 mins. I also ha

Does she have a facebook or myspace page so I can get a look at her? I am still asking around, because the circle of friends is not all that big. One of them has got to know something, and I already told them to speak up if they know something. How old is Brandon by the way? A minor with a grown woman, is why I am asking.

I have never gone there before, but I will tell you who I personally thinks has good homemade cakes at 1/2 the price. If she still makes them, Iron Horse BBQ in Villa Rica. I LOVED their homemade strawberry cake there. The woman that makes them, does make them all from scratch. I haven't been out there in awhile now, so I do not even know if she is still makes the homemade cakes or not.

So how bad was traffic? I think having a Homecoming parade is great, since my school never did that. Thing is to close down a Major Road between 2 counties for an hr. when people are coming home from work is not the best idea imo. I just know how so many drivers are out there. They are already so impatient in regular evening traffic.

All of these people out there who desperately need a job,and places keep these smart a** people working for them. If they are not a smart a**, then they look like they hate the world. I would not have been so kind to the twit. Maybe I need anger management too.

It is very tragic, yet was so preventable at the same time. I am just glad that the real story is out.

I wish they'd put a Red Lobster in Hiram too, because that is where we always go to eat on weekends. I just can't stand to get in the Hwy 5 traffic anymore and wait through 2-3 lights to make that U-turn. It's much easier to just head straight out 278 for me. You know what I wish they'd put on the west side of Atlanta? A Varsity! They have the one in Kennesaw, but nothing on the west side of Atlanta. I personally think it would do a lot of business. Also a krispy kreme would be great to have. Again none west of Atlanta, with the closest one being on 41 in Marietta. I am hearing that Douglasv

DirecTv is SO much better than comcast. It's also a lot cheaper than comcast. I'd go back to directv in a heartbeat, but due to the thick woods I live in they are unable to get a proper signal for the dish itsself. I had directv for several years and the only time it ever lost a signal was during very heavy rain, winds and severe weather. I never lost a signal on cloudy days or a typical rain shower. I also miss playing my games on there.

I have to wonder if it's the military doing top secret stuff? On the other hand I find it hard to believe that we are the only life forms out there throughout the Universes.

I am on comcast, but my parents are on at&t. I house sat for them for a week recently. What I noticed is that the DSL is slower than my comcast. It was slower to go to any pages or to upload any files. Don't get me wrong I have had some major issues with comcast, but overall I think it's a faster connection. I own a pretty decent router. Not top of the line, but I did pay $75 for it. My speed is the mid grade speed through comcast. There's a basic one for like $20 a month, and mine is the $40 a month one. They have one even faster, but comcast told me it's more for people who run businesse

It should be easy to spot him on the parking lot tapes, since I believe he said he was going there after the mall had closed. I can get any info needed from the Douglasville PD if need be, since my sibling works for them. If his family has the name of the investigator working the case, I can have my sibling find out if they have got the videotapes from the mall yet or if they have even requested them.

We had to march in a parade out of state when it was 90 degrees, and we had those dreadful uniforms on. I remember my mouth being so dry that I could not keep the reed wet on my clairnet.

Nobody that my son knows has seen nor heard from him. One of my sons friend said he was acting strange when he talked to him last week, but didn't really clarify what he meant by strange. They all know that he is missing, and said if they hear anything they will let someone know. I told my son that the best thing any of them can do is call 911, because Douglas co. should have the case right now. I pray that you hear something very soon.

From watching a documentary on meth that was filmed in Douglasville, they described meth as having several different looks to it. I have never seen it in person, but meth in the city was filmed mostly in Douglasville with Alexander High school students.
-
It does make me wonder why they do not have it on side streets instead of a main Highway between 2 towns? I can only imagine the numbers of people who will be complaining. I think it's great that they do this, because my sons school sure doesn't. They have a homecoming game, and that's it. No parade.

Fla. man denies cocaine found in buttocks is his
mspris72 replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Kinda reminds me of the cops episode in Vegas, where a police officer walked into the bathroom and caught a Hispanic man red handed snorting cocaine. The Hispanic man swore up and down he wasn't snorting coke, even though he still had white residue all over his nose. Then there is the time they found drugs in a mans pocket on there, and he said he borrowed those jeans from a friend. The cop asked him what the friends name was, and he couldn't remember. He said he had just met him. The cop is like ok so you just met this man, and borrowed his pants? lol Seriously come up with a better lie tha -
Nobody has replied to me yet. I was really hoping one of them would, since they are on his friend list on FB. I pray that all is well. I will tell my son to call his best friend up to see if he knows anything, since teens do talk.
