  1. It's definately an arguement against merit pay. I really feel like it's a slap in the face for those of us (teachers, students, and parents) that bust our asses all school-year to raise test scores. 36 principals involved.....there are only 70 schools in APS that take the CRCT. :smh:
  2. In Paulding, we target students for remediation based on CRCT scores. I, personally, look at domain scores (sections of the math portion) to determine NBI groupings until I get to know student strengths/weaknesses as the year progresses. What happens if these scores aren't accurate and student weaknesses aren't targeted and strengths aren't enriched?
  3. This has made national news, yet I haven't seen a thread about it on pcom yet....which is strange since there are many on here who jump all over the public schools every chance they get. 180 APS employees involved The news just said that the 800 page report named teachers in Fulton, Dekalb, and Douglas counties. What are your thoughts? As a special ed math teacher I can tell you that the pressure for student performance on the CRCT is intense. During re-test time, it gets even worse. I drank, a lot, and had more than one break down over the stress, but never even
  4. I thought I read that he died in a car accident a couple of years ago?
  5. I would suggest you get a really big pitcher and a clear path to a sink or outside. :helpful:
  6. You couldn't put this in the thread that was already going? I don't see her reaction being any different than mine would be.
  7. No one wants justice, we all want vengeance. Keep up.
  8. I hope to get my newsfeed back, but my friends are idiots when they react emotionally and I don't have it in me to explain what JUSTICE is to each.and.every.one.of.them.
  9. Yeah, but in America you're innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The jury knows she had something to do with her death, but maybe couldn't make the reach to murder......and they can only find her guilty of the charges they were given to deliberate over. I can't wait for the jury interviews....if they're brave enough.
  10. Two words: REASONABLE DOUBT. That's all it takes.
  11. Ridgeview is a reputable place. You should find comfort in that. Good luck.
  12. Any of these guys? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suits_(TV_series) Or is he in any of the series pictures? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1632701/
  13. I don't start getting ill with it until midnight.....except for New Years. Fortunately, everyone in my hood has small kids and have probably been in bed for hours.
  14. There are a whole lot of charges out there and they have to consider each one seperately. That could take a while. I'll be glad when it's over so I can stop reading about it on my facebook newsfeed.
  15. all.the.freaking.time. And if i try to retype it, it doesn"t seem as clever.
  16. Wow. If you don't have anything to contribute to the thread, then start insulting the crap out of the other folks posting in it..... Same sheeze, different poster.
  17. I went on a forums rant a couple of years ago.
  18. Yeah, my kid has been sick and today reached the point where I think I need to see a doctor........but it's a holiday weekend! I refuse to take her to Immediate Care in Hiram, because their solution is pain meds or antibiotics......for every.freaking.thing. We're going to wait it out until tomorrow.
  19. It was great....and a great location. We easily found parking and were out of there within 5 minutes.
  20. If you have identification that is not real, you should be punished. No one tries to pass themselves off as someone else for innocent reasons.
  21. I live closer to that place than I do to Hiram
