  1. This is why we did the extended family Christmas over Thanksgiving. Though it helps that it's impossible to guilt me into doing something I don't want to do. It's like a superpower this time of year.
  2. on the flip side, why put up lights if you don't want people gawking at them?
  3. I feel that way about answering the phone too. Just because someone knocks or rings, doesn't mean I'm obligated to interact with them.
  4. What got me is that my daughter wants to get gifts from her for everyone....and I didn't anticipate that. She's managed to spend around $100. Otherwise, I spent about what I usually spend. None of it credit (learned that lesson the hard way!)....I have money drafted to a savings account each month and THAT money is spent on Christmas. It's too much of a PITA to change the draft, so I'm using the extra to fund a trip to Costa Rica. I also tried to shop locally if possible....but yall don't make it easy! Oh, and I spent about 1% of my annual income on Christmas this year.
  5. There were quite a few people there when I showed up (I was late, so the dancing was over.....my mom was their on time with the little one). It seemed adequately staffed, plenty of food, prizes for the kids, music..... Very nice
  6. My daughter had a great time! Thank you for the invitation!
  7. Zydeco. Also, reading through the line up made me miss Music Midtown.....like it used to be, not that new crap.
  8. I feel like the school system should only concern themselves with things that have an EDUCATIONAL impact. We're too caught up in things that have nothing to do with education. On the flipside, I thought this thread was about the new health insurance option I signed up for....
  9. No....that wouldn't be good....pick someone else.
  10. do you think MrsB will let us borrow her baby?
  11. Will there be hay? Hay makes me itchy. And do I get to sit in someone's lap? You and your husband have both felt me up in 2011, so who's left?
  12. Are you going to write a family letter? If so, I better get a mention.
  13. This was our first year going. I dropped the extra tix at Will Call. They said they definately needed them. We sat at.the.top because my 4 year old can't resist climbing a flight of stairs. When we got there she asked me if we were seeing "Glee in real life".....and was a little disheartened when I told her no, we were going to sing Christmas songs. There weren't a lot that she knew (two maybe?). I would have def liked more sing-a-longs. Also, I was a little put off by the crowd in my area. I guess when you drop $100 to watch a play folks act differently. Some of the adults acted as
  14. My child is welcome to leave my home with everything she brought into this world....and if I recall correctly, she was naked, hungry, and crying.
  15. I have 4 extras. That's equal to the number of people who backed out at the last minute. I can email them or meet someone there.
  16. It's a shame that dr's have to issue warnings in order for folks to think like parents.
  17. The last thing I want is my conversation with a PROFESSIONAL to be broadcast on pcom....or any other message board. Sometimes people post things thinking they're being vague, but when you say, "A lady called today and...." it's not hard to deduce who they're talking about. Anyone who shares client stories, without their consent or the consent of their employer, should be terminated. Period.
  18. I thought this thread was going to be about adults, not kids. A senior boy wants one thing from an 8th grade girl. Trust me.
  19. I meant +1 but I did it from my phone
