Halp! My Peanut Butter Fudge is not thick/hard,
workingforaliving replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
When this happened to me, I put it on top of ice cream. It was delicious. Holla if you need help with that pan. oh, and :giggle: at thick/hard. -
We left around 2:30....and we saw very few of the floats in the pictures. The 5+ minutes between trucks and kids walking took it's toll. The parade was too long and too spaced out.

All you can do is report them to the mods....IDK who is on duty tonight. I wish you could block people for good, like FB, where you don't see their threads, posts, etc.

My sister (an LSU fan) was there with her friend (a UGA fan). IDK what Les said to those boys at halftime, but it worked. She also said that UGA fans kept dishing unprovoked insults. I had a similar experience in Jax a few years ago.

What age can a child make his own decision
workingforaliving replied to doinhair's topic in RECENT TOPICS
None. There is a point where a judge will CONSIDER the opinion of the child, but that does not guarentee placement. Letting kids decide which parent to live with is stupid 100% of the time. -
2nd graders told there is no Santa by teacher
workingforaliving replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My parents never told us about Santa. They were hippies. They didn't want to "lie" to us. They were realists about EVERYTHING. I grew up to be a very, very cynical person. I am raising my child the opposite way that they raised me. I'll let you know in about 20 years if my way is better. -
You brag when you win......you sulk when you lose.....how is this concept blowing your mind?

2nd graders told there is no Santa by teacher

We do know that there's a difference between adults and children, right? -
Are you a Tiger fan bragging about beating the Dawgs? Doubt it. You appear to be a 3rd party. I'm a Florida fan, I love to see the Dawgs lose....but I don't go up to other fans and say, "HA! LOSER!" Poor taste.

2nd graders told there is no Santa by teacher
workingforaliving replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
"The unidentified teacher reportedly made her anti-Santa comments Tuesday during a geography lesson, when students told her that they knew where the North Pole was because that’s where Santa lives." I wish I knew more about the lesson. -
I've read where experts have said this is the best team in the history of college football. Maybe. The fact that the NC is in New Orleans is going to be awesome. I'm tempted to drive down for it. I grew up close to the Super Dome back when the Saints sucked. Never got to see good football there

4 years of college are the reason I could never run for public office....well, mostly the last 2. I liked Cain...and still do. I barely believe allegations that come put during a campaign.

No one brags when they lose. this thread is in poor taste.

2nd graders told there is no Santa by teacher
workingforaliving replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
These are second graders, not AP physics students. IF an 11th grader asks me about flying reindeer there are bigger problems than gravity. I think conversations that take place in the classroom should be age appropriate. -
What's your favorite TV show of the 90's and 2000's?
workingforaliving replied to pauldingretroteen's topic in RECENT TOPICS
As I was preparing to switch from DirectTV to UVerse I went through what I have set to record on dvr.....and I was suprised on how many shows get cancelled.... of course, I can't remember any of them now. -
unplug the tree. turn off the tv. reduce your carbon footprint.

2nd graders told there is no Santa by teacher
workingforaliving replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The teacher shouldn't have let the conversation take place. She should have told the kids that it was a conversation for them to have with their parents, at home. I do that all the time when I don't want to get into lengthy debates. I tell them to discuss it with their parents. Easy solution. Airplanes, birds, and insects defy gravity.....it's not just reindeer. -

2nd graders told there is no Santa by teacher
workingforaliving replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
As a parent of a child who believes in Santa, I would be FURIOUS. How dare she rob these kids of the last little bit of magic they have in their lives? TEACHERS don't perpetuate the myth of Santa, parents do! I don't believe in a lot of the science I've had to teach over the years......specifically the big bang and human evolution. My personal beliefs have no place in the classroom.- 131 replies
