I always thought you frosted a cake with icing.

This was a hot debate at NC's house last holiday season.

Why haven't I been involved in this thread yet? I'm wearing the appropriate uniform----no pants!

Wife of Danny Hammett arrested for meth in Forest Park
workingforaliving replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
I can no longer read this thread with a straight face. I think it was the Oogie-Boogie that did me in. The fewer meth heads on the street, the better. You rarely recover from it. If you're lucky, it'll kill you quickly. Meth is death. Not even once. -
If I was unhappy and the reason was specific to the staff at a school, I'd call an IEP meeting and request someone from central office be present. If that wasn't cutting it, file a complaint with the DOE (refer to your parental rights for info)....you'll get a lot done and it won't cost you a dime.

I dream in color, where everyone is doing what needs to be done.....and budgets don't exist. It's a lovely dream.

There are advocacy agencies out there and costs vary. I've dealt with more than my fair share and I would use them as a last resort. Some are there to make a difference, some to make a dollar. I an usually tell pretty quickly. The et advice I can give you about the IEP process is to remember that everyone needs to have the child's best interest in mind. If any member of the committee doesn't, then nothing good will come of it. It's also important to remember that federal law only requires that the child have access to the curriculum and does not guarantee honor roll (another rant for anoth

I thought being a red state was a good thing.

We had a blast. I felt bad for the end of the route......horses should always go last. The crapping chased a lot of folks off.

Best purchase I've ever made. It forces me to get away.....and the closest resort is literally 15 minutes from here.

I don't own a gun and probably never will...and I'm a huge supporter of the Second Amendment. I've never understood people being against something just because it isn't for them.....take gay marriage and pierced nipples, for example....

Since buying a timeshare, I plan a little better since many of the resorts book up during peak times.

It depends on what her job is. There are some professions that require a certain type of behavior.....at least when going out in public. I didn't read the article. -

This thread epitomizes pot stirring. For shame. -
Idk. Homie is from Arkansas. I don't just like his music, I want to hang out with him.....and that's weird.

I was in the Magic Kingdom and missed it. It will be next week til I can watch it. I love Cody, in a very unhealthy way. You reckon he can shoot out a light with a BB gun?

Government school "education"....
workingforaliving replied to Gipper Girl Rocks's topic in RECENT TOPICS
In my daughter's k class, there are only 4 readers, and she is one of them. I never occurred to me not to teach her phonics or sight words....or counting. No 5/6 year old should just be learning to count in K.....but close to the majority of the class is in that boat. I'm thrilled to have a teacher who enriches the 4. When teachers accept that there might be 3-4 different variations of their lesson taking place within a classroom, education will progress by leaps and bounds. -

What do you think about timeshares?
workingforaliving replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
All I paid for mine was the title/transfer fee. Less than a grand for 231k points. $1200/yr for maintenance fees (think HOA). This is wayyyyyy less than I would spend on hotels! If I didn't want it, I would probably have to give it away. Never, ever buy a timeshare from the developer! It would have cost $30,000 from them! -
Don't they have to drop off the kids before taking the band?

I've already saved hundreds off of the rack rate on multiple trips. I travel frequently, so I see the cost savings. I love having a condo and would rather not ever shove my family into a 250 sqft hotel room ever again. I love the kitchen because it costs a fortune to eat out meals. We do one nice meal out and the rest at the condo. T-giving week at Daytona Beach is going to hit around $400.....since I did the math.
