  1. Do you ever had trouble swallowing your food? I used to and just thought I got too hungry and was eating too fast. It was due to the erosion in my esophogus. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Neil Osborn. He is my GI dr and is VERY good! I hope you feel better and whoever you go to can help figure out what is going on!!
  2. I had my gall bladder out recently and still have acid reflux. My GI dr prescribed an antacid and it helps, but not enough. I am going Monday to see if I can get put on something stronger. I really don't think Gall bladder & indigestion are related. I can ask when I go!
  3. Hope For Christmas would be a great place to volunteer or donate items/food! My kids & I will be there!! ETA: The page to sign up to either receive help or to volunteer appears to be down at the moment. Maybe the served got overloaded with volunteers?!
  4. My 2 oldest girls...The White Queen & Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland!! Gotta go get Jesse & Woody from Toy Story ready now!!
  5. One of my daughters has something similar. Her's looks like a little skin tag/pimple, it's right above her butt crack and is small. She calles it her tail! LOL!! She has NO back problems!! Oh, no one else in the fam (that I know of) has it.
  6. If I remember correctly, he couldn't have Lasik b/c the part of the eye that they use the laser on was too thin. If he had the Lasik and it didn't completely correct his vision, he wouldn't have been able to have any neccessary enhancements. He didn't seem to mind having one eye done at a time. He just wore one contact lens!! A friend of ours had the Lasik and within 24 hours he was seeing fine and had no discomfort. The PRK was more involved so my husband was in some pain and it took a week or 2 for his vision to clear up. I encourage you to at least have a consultation, we were told
  7. GO FOR IT!!! My husband did it last year and said it was the best thing he has ever done (other than marrying me!) He did it a Lasik Plus, they have several offices, but he used the one near the Galleria. He actually wasn't a candidate for Lasik, he had PRK which was more involved and they only did one eye at a time, 6-8 wks apart. They have a lifetime guarantee that if your vision EVER changes, they will do enhancement procedure(s). The price was in the range that you mentioned, I can't remember the exact figure, but it was around $4k. It would have been worth $100k for him to NEVER wear cont
  8. Congrats to you and your fam! I have 3 girls and 1 boy and YES, boys are very different! He is 19 months old and WILD already!! He is also the sweetest, snuggliest, most precious thing I have ever laid eyes on Don't get me wrong, my girls are amazing, too!! There is just a special bond between me and my lil guy!

    Sirens?

The sirens were on in Vista Lake, they just went off. I was going to go to bed until they started...now I won't be able to sleep!
  10. We actually got a flyer in our mailbox that our neighborhood moved it to Saturday, I am so mad!!! My neighbor said it was b/c PCSO had suggested that it be moved, but I can't find ANY proof to back it up! HALLOWEEN IS ON OCTOBER 31, NOT THE LAST SATURDAY OF OCTOBER...and YES, I was yelling!! Hubby said it's b/c we are in the "Bible Belt" and some people look at Halloween as satan's day and Sunday is for Jesus...Well guess what? I am a Christian and I see no problem with my kids dressing up and trick or treating on a Sunday. And they WILL survive if they go to bd past their bedtime one
  11. My theory is that the really weird ones (like the ones above) are a combination of possible baby daddy's
  12. Thanks for all of the info, everyone! After a lengthy conversation with a Kaiser rep, we have decided to stick with BC/BS. My kids are well established at their pediatrician's office and I have been with my OB/GYN for 7+ yeras and 3 of my 4 babies and can't leave him (he and the ped are NOT contracted w/ Kaiser.) I also don't like the fact that I have to use their pharmacy unless I want to pay an extra fee to fill close to home. And the big deciding factor...I was told that most of the hospitals that take it are inside the perimeter. I prefer to be able to use a hospital closer to home in the
  13. Thank you! Do you (if you are a female) have to see a Kaiser OB/GYN, too? When I was looking at the info, I didn't see anything about triple tier or added choice.
  14. It is time for us to enroll for our benefits and Kaiser is one of two options. We currently have BC/BS but we are facing a big rate increase and are now looking at the Kaiser option. Do I have to see only Kaiser doctors? I don't care if hubby & I have to change, but I really don't want to leave my children's pediatrician's office. And I REFUSE to leave my OB/GYN!! I would appreciate any input, positive or negative, about Kaiser....Oh, and my enrollment deadline is tomorrow! Nothing like waiting until the last minute!!
  15. I had an IUD fail in between A & Z. We figured we wanted a 4th anyway so didn't use anything else to prevent after it came out. That is why they are 19 months apart! When it went from my uterus to my cervix, I thought I had a UTI. It took an altrasound to figure out the IUD wasn't where is should be and then soon after that Z was on his way!
  16. OMG! That is my worst fear! I LOVE my kids and LOVE being a mommy. It would be very dangerous for me to have another b/c I have has 4 c-sections and was advised NOT to have a 4th b/c my uterus is weak and was at risk of rupturing. I want everything removed, too!!
  17. No "trying" here, either. Every time we said we wanted a baby, I was pregnant the first cycle after deciding. With the first, I got pregnant on Depo (we decided I wasn't going to get another shot, and low & behold I was 5wks pregnant when I would have been due for another one.) My nick name was fertile Myrtle for a long time!! We wanted 4, so I got my tubes tied during my 4th c-section....I know nothing is 100% so I am scared that we will get a surprise! Hubby is too much of a wuss to get snipped for extra precaution. I have begged my dr to remove my uterus but he won't do it....not yet,
  18. If it makes you a bad grandmother, than I am a bad mom. I did that one time when we were at the beach and shared a condo with another couple!! The kids will never remember
  19. My kids like starfall.com. If I think of any more after my coffee, I will let you know!
  20. Here are a two things I have found that extend my battery life. 1)Turn my GPS off unless I need it, then I turn it on only while I use it. 2)Turn the screen brightness down. The battery on mine would last half the day and now it lasts all day. My kids new fav app is Talking Tom Cat!
  21. We took the kids for a while after my dd's soccer game. They loved the jaws of life demo. They wanted to stay to watch the SWAT demo but I was hurting...I woke up with a stiff neck and my head was crooked all day. Great family event!! Thanks to all who put it together!!
  22. I had a great experience with Clark Funeral Home in 04. He and his staff were very caring & compassionate. I had my dad cremated and they did not ask me to pay one dime until I was able to gain control of my dad's bank accounts, he had no life insurance. When I went to pick up my dad's ashes, Mr. Clark offered to carry them to my car for me. I have never had an experience with the ambulance company. I can not imagine why someone would wish for the fiancial demise of another person, especially based on "what you heard"
  23. Have you ever used the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Immediate Care? There is one in Kennesaw and they are AMAZING!! I have 4 kids so I have been there many times. It is not an ER so I only have to pay my office visit copay when I go. They are open 9am-9pm 7 days a week and you can call ahead so you don't wait as long. Oh, my second daughter was the only one that has gotten something stuck in her nose (so far). I had a house full of company and was about to take her to the ER and made her sniff pepper...she sneezed it out!!
  24. The pet ins we have thru PetFirst Healthcare does not require you to see at vet that accepts it. You pay the vet in full for the visit, fill out a claim that the vet signs and then mail it in with your invoice! A few moths ago I spent around $200 on vaccines and heartworm/flea & tick preventive meds and got reimbursed for most of it. Plus it is good piece of mind knowing that if my dogs got sick or injured they have coverage. I will not be as concerned about treatment costing thousands of dollars.
