I had a chicken salad sandwich between nines at the golf course in NC Friday. It was a good mix of chicken and salad, not to heavy on one or the other. I shot a 61 on the front nine and a 43 on the back nine and that 43 included a quadrupedal bogey [8] on one hole. That was a good chicken salad sandwich.

Yeh, us older people barely knew what was happening in the state next door. If it wasn't for the pony express, we would have had no news at all. "This is literally the most peaceful time we've ever enjoyed on Earth." I may not be a professor, but I know that there is more crime and violence today than there was when I was a kid and I don't need anyone to tell me that, I have eyes and ears. When I was a kid these things were common, are they today? If not, is it because the country has less or more crime? People did not lock the doors to their homes. People did not lock the door

I think your theory is on the money. I think that when you feel no one is listening to you and you feel helpless and unable to control the situations in your life, the frustrations tend to build. I think that the fact that when we have an issue with the companies we spend our money with and their "customer service" department shows little care about us as a customer, it affects us. When we work for a company that shows little respect for it's employees, it affects us. When a company is forced to make changes, for whatever reasons, that negatively impact our lives, it affects us. When the

Sounds like you already heard what the prize is. You can pick up the plaque, flowers and certificate at the Pcom offices any time between 8am and 5pm on Saturdays. -
I do not speak from personal experience, but based on what I have heard, for the results you suggested, crack would not be a good choice. I understand heroin is the way to go for that.

While I may hate to hear of things like what happened and while some things may touch me more than others, usually due to something that I have lived through in my past and while I find stories such as the one this thread is about, it generally doesn't affect me deeply. However, that is me. My wife, who I guess you could say has a more tender heart, is more affected by events such as this. Why this is, I'm not sure. Perhaps because I have lost so many close friends, starting in my early 20's, so my well is not as full as it should be. I don't know? Some people do deal with sad or horribl -

The Salvation Army does a good job for those who are indegent. They give them 3 hots and a cot, rehab treatment and work in their organization. Also, there are Narcotics Anonymous meetings that are free.

When we found that Jack Russell (I think that is what it was) and through some help from someone here on pcom (sorry, I can't remember who) located the owners, I know who was the happiest. It was the owners, followed with a tie between the dog and me. The dog was happy to be going back home with his family and I was happy to see it...for two reasons. One, the dog was going back to where he belonged, was loved and loved to be. Two, the wife had already decided that, "if these aren't the people,we will have to keep him". She had him in the house, introducing him to his "new animal family" w

Audie Murphy was at Anzio. As most know, Murphy was the most decorated American soldier in WWII, which included the CMH (Congressional Medal of Honor). Murphy was never one to brag or make a big to do about his medals and awards. Years later when Audie was making movies, Gen. Mark Clark visited the set. Gen. Clark walked up to Murphy and stuck out his hand for Audie, who was sitting down, to shake. Murphy stood up, not saying a word, and with his hands at his sides, just stared at Gen. Clark. Finally a look of comprehension came over the General and he stiffened to attention and salut
