Just wondering, why does being a practicing Roman Catholic keep you off a death penalty case? Does the church not support the death penalty. BTW, not looking to debate things one way or another, just curious. I think it is a vitally important duty and unless you cannot serve, you should. I think it is an inconvenience at times, but it is an honor and a duty that should be taken seriously. We fuss and complain about "dumb" juries, then say, I won't serve. Heck, all they are left with are those who are not smart enough to get out of it or those who need the jury pay.

I understand where you are coming from, but at least it is better to have something coming in, than nothing. And if they are happy with things, perhaps that will lead to more business. Whether we should build it is past, how we can make it self sustaining is the now and if it is starting to get bookings, then perhaps it is finally starting to walk. -
Maybe they think he is still 3 months old?

My favorite answer given by a prospective juror when asked could he be impartial on a week long trial was this; "I own my own business, if I am not there, my guys will not work as hard and therefore I will lose money. I am not happy when I lose money and I tend to hold grudges." (or something along that line) Both lawyers said, "Excused" at the same time. The guy had told me when we sat down, "I won't be here long".

That is good to hear, hopefully it keeps up. -
My point is that as an elected official, you are in a unique position, with the people of you district, of dealing not only with a "boss" (I prefer, owner) but also, and this is a very important point, a customer. So while I understand your point about being berated by a "boss" (owner), although at times it is needed, it is important to realize that you are also speaking to a customer. Now, if I am in a business and I see an irate customer giving an employee a lecture and I while I may see the customer's point, I feel the customer is stepping over the line, I will think that the customer

I have been called 3 times in 35 years. Twice in Cherokee County and once in Paulding County. I was called twice in 10 years in Cherokee and once in 16 years in Paulding. That is an average of once every 11.6 years. Now my mother, who lives in Cobb County, has only been called twice in 60+ years.

Which is why I included these lines. "They sometimes forget they are not the owners of the company, they are the employees. And the thing about elected officials is, that the customers of the company are also the owners, so it is a double bad."
-
Understood. I have been called all sorts of names over the years by angry customers, but since I wasn't the owner of the company, I always tried to hold my tongue and not give our company a worse image than the one the customer already had of it. The customers weren't right to talk that way, but as the saying goes, it was/is part of the job to listen.

While I wasn't real thrilled with her opening remarks, I can say this, IMHO, if you are an elected official then you are in essence an employee of a company and the people are your customers. Now not all customers relay their complaints about the company or the customer service of that company in a proper or a nice respectful way, BUT as an employee of the company, not the company owner, it is your job to listen and be respectful to that customer. Your job requires you to be professional and behave in a professional manner. I am sure that no owner of a company would be happy to learn that an

I wouldn't hold my breath while waiting. These poor ole Paulding county peasants, do they really think we would believe that they actually think and write for themselves? Give me a break, if the peasants were that smart, how could we have gotten elected? It must have had something to do with someone's momma and army boots. BTW, where can I go to get some of this Delta money?

If so, they at least did their part to help the county of Douglas out. Good neighbors and all that.

Ten reasons HOAs can be crazy. These were taken from the Huffington Post. 10. Kids, Pack Up That Lemonade Stand: Sorry kiddos, your adorable attempt at making money this summer has been banned from the mean ol' HOA. 9. Shingles Must Be the Same, Even If You're Home Has Been Hit By a Plane: A man in Florida went through a devastating event in which a plane crashed into his home, killing his wife and infant son. But the HOA had no sympathy for him and slapped him with a fine while he was rebuilding his home because the shingles didn't match. 8. Fence & Hedge Nazis: Must be this -

One year I was getting my DL renewed in Valdosta, GA. I had just moved to Paulding and needed my address changed. At that time the State Patrol did the DL stuff in Valdosta (they may still for all I know), and the lady trooper asked for my new address. When she asked what city, I said Dallas. She said, "I'm sorry sir, but we only do GA driver's licenses." I said I only wanted a GA DL. She said I had to live in GA to get a GA DL. I said I did live in GA. She replied, I'm sorry, I thought you said Dallas. I did say Dallas. Dallas, TX? Nooo, Dallas, GA. There is a Dallas, GA? Yeh, yo

Forget that, the bigger question is, who is going to support me while I gamble away every penny I can scrape up? -
Ever read Edgar Allan Poe's, The Tell Tale Heart? Maybe your past is catching up with you.

Back in 1993 a guy who worked in our warehouse in Miami asked me this question. "Where is Dallas, GA? And what would I do if I visited there?" When I answered where Dallas was and that there was really nothing to do if he visited, he then asked, "Where would I be going if I had to go through Dallas, GA to get there?" My answer, I am not sure where you would be going if you had to go through Dallas, GA to get there. Unless, you were going to Rockmart and I am not sure why you would be going to Rockmart, or you were lost and just happened to go through Dallas to get back to where you were
