I don't know a lot, but I do know this. Politics doesn't have anything to do with pedophilia. Nor does race, religion (well, the standard ones) or education. Wrong is wrong and pedophilia is wrong.

One major difference between you and an addict/alcoholic is that when they are doing drugs and drinking, they do not feel out of control, they feel more in control. "Normal" people feel like you.

Again I ask the question. When I was a kid these things were common, are they today? If not, is it because the country has less or more crime? People did not lock the doors to their homes. People did not lock the doors to their cars when out shopping. People would leave their cars running while they went in the store to pickup a couple of items. People would leave their kids (of all ages) in the car while they went grocery shopping, in the summer all the windows were down all the way. Average people did not have alarm systems at their homes. I sure wish we had newspapers and TV and radio back there in them 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's so that we could have known if there were crimes being committed. Heck, we didn't even have gossip, when a neighbor got robbed or killed, we just never spoke about about it, never wondered if we were next, just kept it quiet, shhhhhh, don't say it out loud or they may come after you. All we had were lollipops, cotton candy and dreams, we never knew how bad things were. If we had only known things were going to get better, not worse.

I think I would by the fact that I know so many people that have things stolen, cars broken into, homes broken into and other crimes. My father kept his tool box on our carport for most of his working life as a carpenter. It was stolen around 1977 and we know who took it. A relative. Other than that and a guy from up the street who was at my grandfather's house visiting my cousins, who stole my grandfather's army .45, I never heard of anyone's property being stolen or house broken into when up until the 1990's. Heck, my aunt and uncle never locked their house..ever..even when they went on
