I guess I'm getting out of here just in time since the TSPLOST failed and our roads will be falling into ruin and no one will be able to get from point A to point B. My husband was offered a job in South Alabama after being unemployed here for quite a while. I agree. What happened to keeping the money local? LPPT, they have been talking about doing this audit for many months. Look in to it and see which council members are pushing for it and which ones are dragging their feet. Not to mention the day before Ms. Devy was voted in as Mayor the council decided to go to a City Manager which takes a lot of power away from the Mayor and gives it to the City Manager. So I'm interested to see who the City Manager will be. Ms. Devy is pretty much a figurehead or glorified council member now.

The thing is, I don't think the "Good ole boy" system is really out of Hiram. I think that the ex-mayor still has a lot to say about things, especially being against an audit of the books from when she was mayor. I don't know if there was/is wrong doing, but I'm all for open books so that we can look at was done and what is being done.

I could do almost all of my work from home, but there are a few task that I need to be in the office for. I've been pushing for working from home some days a week, but so far the only time I've been able to work from home was when I was on maternity leave.

I think it has more to do with laziness and lack on interest. People cant pull themselves away from Tv,video games,cell phones, what have you. More people care about that twilight girl cheating on her boyfriend than care who will be their state representitive. They figure one vote wont change anything.

My girls are 21 months and 4 months old (yeah, that wasn't a plan). I don't get the privileged of staying home with them, but I make the most of the time I have with them when I get home and on weekends. And I anticipate that I will win the lottery. The fact is we were threatened with things in order to get the TSPLOST passed. Now that that option is off the table by a good margin, they can get a realistic plan. Do you know that there is a rule in Georgia that federal highway money has to be divided evenly among congressional districts. How stupid is that? It doesn't take as much money in middle of nowhere GA to fix a traffic problem as it does in Metro Atlanta.
