My husband was just messin' around that morning, he wasn't even using a saltwater rig, just the pole he brought for fishing in the inlet. The guy at the bait and tackle shop told us to use a Pampano rig with a peeled shrimp on the top, and a sand flea on the bottom. We were expecting to maybe hit a fish. The first thing he reeled in was a stingray, he was barely hooked so we got it out and got him back in the water. I then walked back up to the room to get a water, and when I came out he's yelling across the beach that he's got a shark. I thought he was kidding. The only thing we had was two f

We set him free so that someone who could appreciate him could eat him later

I think it was a bonnet head, but I guess those are technically hammerheads. We were staying in a condo, neither one of us was about to go guttin' fish on our vacation. We took out the hook and let him swim on his way. Did make me think twice about stepping in the water to swim later that day.

We didn't measure, I would guess it was only about 3 feet long. It was at Pinnacle port on the far west end of Panama City Beach in Florida, right before you cross over the Bridge into Walton county.

We didn't actually keep it, but it was pretty neat catching a shark while shore fishing. We also caught a stingray and 2 Pompanos. Edited: I'm aware I misspelled souvenir.

The only thing that I really have to have name brand for is Mayo, and that's hellman's. I do buy name brand baby formula, but that will end soon. I also buy name brand baby food, but that's because there isn't as much of a selection for store brand. Also recently I bought Walmart brand clorox wipes, and they are not as good and won't buy them again. But to sum it up. I try to buy generic as much as possible until I find that the generic isn't as good. I'll always give the generic a shot.

Showing body parts that would be considered indecent exposure isn't a fashion choice. There are children in a mall. Not to mention, your freedom to "express" your fashion sense ends where my freedom to enjoy a public place without seeing body parts begins.

Simple fix to this...Fatten up your daughters. I always feel safe walking around town.

Hindsight is 20/20, but I just heard about an 18 month old killed by being run over by a family member yesterday. Now I have 2 kids that are 1 and 2.5. I don't leave them alone in a room by themselves let alone outdoors. Especially if there are aggressive dogs or cars moving around. There have been times where I had to run out of the room to get something, but usually if I want to leave them alone the thought goes through my head what if something would happen. I have 2 standard poodles, one is about 60lbs, the other 50lbs. I trust them with my kids, but they have growled at my girls, or k

That rang a bell, we would have to watch episodes of People's Court in our Intro to Law class, and then debate the ruling. I took college prep classes, but most of the classes that showed movies were electives. We did watch a lot of movies in English, but I'm assuming that was because we had just read the book.

Yeah, we saw To Kill a Mocking Bird as well, forgot about that one.

I think it's the same inmate. This is a thread from February

I am probably forgetting some, but some stand out to me. Brian's Song The Miracle of Life The Princess Bride (it was a PE Fencing class) Glory Romeo and Juliet (the old school one) Bridge to Terabithia (the original one) Fiddler on The Roof The Great Gatsby I'm sure there were more, but those are the ones that stand out.

Because the mail is a federal thing not state. Because while we may have lost the war, it doesn't change the fact that we believe in what we fought for, which despite what you've heard, was not so that we could keep slaves. As a descendant of Confederate Soldiers I think it is nice to have a day dedicated to memorialize them.

I'm sorry, I am hardly a Glenn Beck follower, but to say your opinion is based on the fact that no reputable news source backs him is a little ignorant.

I think the only downtown place we tried was Rendezvous. My favorite is the Commissary out in Germantown, but my husband swore by Neelys BBQ. But I still say there is no BAD BBQ in Memphis, and there is one on every corner. The one food thing I had to adjust to was that if you ordered chicken wings at a place you would get a fried wing with the tip, not what you get around here.
-
You went to Rendezvous. I remember the night we went looking for it right after we moved there. We took a wrong turn, and a street person told us to follow him and was about to take us down an alley, when another street person told us that mas was going to rob us, and that it was a little further down the street. We finally found it, but it was eye opening to walking around down town. You're fine as long as you stay in the tourist areas. Funny story, our neighbor there at the ball park apartments was a producer for the show The First 48.

I didn't want to live long term in Memphis, but I had some great times walking to diner in the downtown area, and going to Redbirds games. But I remember most was that it was the HOTTEST place in the US that I had ever lived. I was there 2 summers and it was miserably hot. Of course I reserve the right to change that statement once I get through a summer in south alabama
-
I used to live in the apartments that are just down the street. The apartments are in the outfield of the Redbirds stadium. I only lived there for a month before we moved out to some other apartments on a golf course in East Shelby county. I loved being in walking distance to Beale Oh, and that's the Peabody hotel

Thank God it's not Carnival.

He has proof, I just don't know that anyone will give it much consideration considering the source.

Is something closed? I live in South Alabama and I haven't seen anything closed today. And we're about as south as you can get.

As soon as Glen Beck can get someone to believe him.

I stayed at the Inn at Ellis Square. I would recomned it. Not sure the cost on it, we stayed there 7 years ago (wow time flies). It was nice, withing walking distance, and there was a trolley tour that stopped there.
