  1. Oh, I have to say...I like the name Chase and thought of it with my first son, but then I thought of Chase Visa and the fact that I would have to say Chase's this, Chase's that...I don't care for names that end with an S sound for that reason. But I still like it and am thinking about it. I do like Barrett a lot, though. I just can't get over the Barrett Pkwy thing... I saw a really gorgeous guy on TV or something named Barrett when I was pregnant last time, and that's why I thought of it.
  2. My husband doesn't remember this at all, but he was very set on naming Gavin Pierce when I was pregnant with him. I hated, hated it then, but I kinda like it now...but he insists he never liked that name. Funny...3 months of saying "How about Pierce?" and he forgets. But, my mom is the same way...she said "Gage" with I was pregnant with Tyler for an entire 6 months and does not remember...and does not like the name now.
  3. So do I!! It was in the running for Tyler when I was pregnant with him. But no one likes it but me. And the only issue I have with Grant is that you can't really shorten it. I call Gavin Gav and Tyler Ty sometimes...I just like to be able to call them something else occasionally. Suppose I could call him Grr. Lol. I do like Camden...but with that d in there, it is hard to say with my last name.
  4. That is so funny that you say Barrett. I LOVE that name. I wanted to name Tyler Barrett, but I decided against it because of Barrett Pkwy. My oldest actually has a boy named Barrett in his class...which I thought was weird. Zachary is my cousin's name. Jude doesn't work with our last name...but I like that name...just hard to say with our last name. And I'd say half of the other names mentioned are cousins or aunts or uncles or my dad, etc. I'm still reading, though I do kinda like Paxton, but I'm not sure if I would like it long term. And naturegirl, I know I'm in the minority
  5. Funny that you say that...my mom loves the name Mason, and I actually considered it for my first son. But the other day when my mom said it, I said, "I will not have two construction kid names." LOL...Tyler and Mason. :-P
  6. I actually used to love that name until I had an evil friend whose husband's name was Luke. That name would not work out in our house...ugh.
  7. I just cannot find a name for this baby. I seem to like nothing. My mom keeps saying Reese, but it is really a girl's name now and DH hates it. DH keeps saying Dylan, but I really do not like that name at all (no offense if that is your name/kid's name...I'm *very* picky), plus it's my cousin's baby's name. When I was pregnant with my second, I didn't want a name that ended with an N. I could never think of anything great and gave in to my mom's choice of Tyler when he was 4 days old HOME from the hospital. I don't want things to be that way this time...he was "Boy" at the hospital o
  8. Wasn't she an old lady whose oxygen tank caught on fire? If that is the case--I really don't know the intricate details--then she may not have been capable of getting out in any length of time.
  9. Yeah! I don't think you can call it trying to help while sitting in a truck. Anyone can drive over to someone's house and not get out while getting paid for it. I have no doubt that these firefighters had good intentions, but they obviously made a very, very poor decision. Whether they were distracted or just chalked it up to a prank or something, they could have taken an extra minute or so to investigate. Now, I would call it a mistake if one or more of them got out of the truck, knocked on the door, peeked through the windows, etc, and then left. At least that would have shown effo
  10. Never had broccoli slaw...hmm. Recipe sounds good, though I am making lasagna with garlic bread and salad. Mmm, mmm, mmm.
  11. I 100% agree. Officers don't just drive by the houses they receive hangup calls from because things look normal. Whether they were being lazy or malicious or not isn't even the issue. They didn't do their job and someone is dead because of it. If it is just let go it will give the wrong message. They should have gotten out and investigated.
  12. Their prices look good on their site. I typed in our address, though, and it says it is not available yet. I am near downtown Dallas. Maybe they just haven't updated?
  13. My sister has a "child." It really belongs to her husband's deceased brother...who was her old boyfriend! My sister is very poor because she doesn't work and never has. Wonder why that hasn't been questioned by the government. My sister's "child" gets Medicaid, but my sister just goes to the ER for "free" when she has colds, depression, anything else she wants to come up with. My neighbor made like $16/hr before she quit her job. While that isn't a wonderful wage, that certainly is enough to pay daycare for just one child with her husband's income as well. Her husband makes about the sa
  14. My sister is a health care leech. She goes to the ER every time she has a sniffle. It is pathetic. After years of seeing her do this, I have basically dropped all communication with her...she is like this in every aspect of her life. She has no worries...free house bought by my mom sitting on an acre, free food provided by the government, free phone, free everything. And she always seems to have someone wreck into her car and ends up getting thousands of dollars. I just don't get it... My neighbor who had health insurance quit her job when she had her baby. Now they get Medicaid. I ju
  15. It's been a few years since I smelled it, but Issey Miyake used to be my favorite. I don't know if it still would be, but my mom loved it too. I met a guy on a bus that was wearing it and it was heavenly. I know they have it at some kiosks in malls, but I'm not sure where else they sell it. My husband has some Estee Lauder Pleasures that I really like, too.
  16. Either tacos or spaghetti. My husband and sons really like tacos, so I make them about once a week or so. My youngest really likes spaghetti (one of the few things he will eat pretty consistently!), but my husband and son would always rather have tacos or something more fast food style. Boys!
  17. It's absolutely not more important. I think it's apples and oranges. But I can't blame her for not having a degree because I am in the same situation. If I got cancer tomorrow and then got divorced, I'd have no way of paying for my treatment. I have no degree as of yet, but it's not that I don't want one. I would ultimately like to become an RN or sonographer, but I can't do either of those right now because I am pregnant. And it will be too hard to do with a new, itty bitty baby and 2 other children and my husband's weird schedule with no family to help us with the kids. I really have no choi
  18. I don't like the rib kicks, either, but I do admit I love the strange belly shapes that occur in the last few weeks It's amazing!!
  19. Whenever she comes out, just cherish these last few moments, days, or weeks. The last few weeks are so uncomfortable, but you just never know for sure if you will ever be pregnant again...and it is definitely a special experience, as you know! I wanted my first out so bad and then was so sad that I couldn't remember the last time he kicked before he was born. It's such a surreal thing to be pregnant one minute and then the next minute you have this tiny human and the pregnancy journey is over, though a new one has started.
  20. It can... I got an enema with my other 2 babies and I prefer it that way. I would be horrified if my DH saw something like that while I was giving birth. But also just for my own confidence, I prefer the enema. But I know it isn't always possible if you go into labor without being induced, but if offered it I will take it!
  21. Awesome! I'm definitely trying it this time if I make it long enough to try. I think I will...I don't seem to go into labor before my due date. Though, I actually think I was in early labor when I was induced last time because I was having regular contractions and thought they had started the pit drip, but they hadn't.
  22. I think they have an alternative for people who don't like eggplant. Maybe it is just regular old chicken, I don't know. But they think it is the sauce that seems to cause their customers to go into labor. Or maybe it is the combination of the eggplant and sauce.
  23. Did it!? That's so neat. I love hearing about when it works! My neighbor/friend's friend went and ate there just a few months ago and had her baby that night. And I LOVE eggplant parmesan, so it would be very easy for me
