  1. I guess I missed the latest fight.
  2. Make that three, however the problem is getting teens to listen to their parents rather than their peers and/or the media.

    Baby Spanx

I guess nobody was watching Sat Nite Live.
  4. I have been thinking about this since yesterday and couldn't decide whether to reply or not. Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is for people that have worked hard all their lives and were able to feed their children and carry health insurance on their children to all of a sudden not have that health insurance any longer because of not being able to work or because of not being able to find a full-time job? The thought of maybe having to apply for food stamps if my husband doesn't find a job soon, makes me sick to my stomach. Sure there are people that abuse the system but there are p
  5. I don't get why they have to do the role-playing either. Why can't they just read and discuss it?

    Music

Obviously I'm a little older than you are and it's funny that you posted this topic. Late last night I watched a show on PBS called Rock, Pop and Doowop, music from the 50's and 60's and it made me feel good seeing some of those "old" people on there singing their songs and they still sounded good.
  7. I only talk to myself when I've done something wrong, I'll say how can you be so stupid or why in the hill did you do that or I cannot believe I just did that. My husband however walks through the house talking and I don't know if I'm supposed to be listening or not. Drives me crazy. I too will insist on my next house being all on one level, so tired of stairs.
  8. The commercial I hate is the one where the guy is going down the hall in a hotel and grabbing food and juice that's left on trays to take back to his wife in the room - and then it shows her eating the toast. Nasty.
  9. When I was in school many moons ago, you didn't hear much about this happening and if it did, the girl didn't attend school while she was pregnant. I wonder why Georgia is so much higher than the national average?
  10. I was watching Nightline on ABC last night and they had a report about teenage pregnancy. They said that Georgia has a 22% higher rate than the national average. They interviewed a couple of girls from Rome, GA. One of the girls said there were probably at least 20 that she knew of at her school that are pregnant.
  11. Where's a cab when you need one?
  12. I guess it's okay to give his name since they said it on national tv. He is a four year old named Eli Ford (I think that's what she said) and he knows all the names of the presidents and what number they are and the name of their vice-president. Ellen would show him a picture and he would say which president is was. Very cute. Ellen gave him and his family a trip to D.C.
  13. There is a little boy from Dallas, GA on Ellen right now.
  14. That lingering cough will really wear you out. Hope you feel better soon. Drink plenty of fluids.
  15. Anyone that uses a neti pot or any kind of sinus wash, you don't have to buy the powder - just use about 1/2 t. sea salt (without iodine). You can add a pinch of baking soda to the water also. I just saw a commercial for Walmart where they now have prescription strength Allegra available without a prescription.
  16. You obviously haven't gone through menopause yet because baking soda/corn starch just won't cut it when you start the sweaty hot flashes. I clean our bathrooms with baking soda which can usually takes a lot of scrubbing to get the bathtub clean but I can't take the strong chemical smells of regular cleaners. I haven't splurged on anything for myself in years. I don't care about things but I would love to be able to go to shows at the Fox, concerts, the beach, and eat better food. If I ever have any extra money it goes towards things for my son.
  17. My husband has been going to a pain management doctor in Hiram for a while now for a back injury and he is trying to wean off of the meds. We took his prescription to Wal-Mart yesterday and they said they didn't have them and weren't sure if they would be getting any in by Friday. He doesn't have insurance so he called around to get the best price and to see who did have the pain meds available. He ended up at Sam's Club. Sam's Club calls the prescribing doctor to verify that it is a legitimate prescription before they fill it. I thought that was a good idea. I don't understand why there
  18. So far I like Rachel the best. I think she has the most potential to be something different. She had a couple of pitch problems but I hope she continues.
  19. The protesters from Westboro Baptist are promising to quadruple their activities since the Supreme Court ruled their protests were covered under free speech.
  20. It's good to hear good news!!
  21. That's what may keep me from getting it cut short because I hardly ever go for a trim, but I'm tired of how long it takes to dry it right now. So I want something that's quick to wash and dry, very easy styling and low maintenance, impossible I guess.
  22. They were talking about that on the news a few minutes ago. I think it was Carroll County that said if they're in a tornado watch and a thunder storm is going on, they will sound the alarm.
