  1. There was a strange condensed version on SNL last night. I haven't seen the remake yet.
  2. I saw those reviews. I'll have to run to the store for some of the things listed.
  3. Thanks, I was just reading that recipe on food.com.
  4. I'm hoping some of pcom's great cooks are on here today. I have a ham bone left over from Thanksgiving and have never made a pot of ham and bean soup. Give me your best (preferably easy) recipe, please and thank you.
  5. I'm so sorry your family is going through such a sad time here at the holidays. May she RIP.
  6. RIP Mr. Cornett. I did not know him but he was my husband's father's (Carl Wilson) cousin.
  7. I used to take my son to the new courthouse on the weekends.
  8. Glad it worked out for you and that you ran into kind people. What was it I heard on the news earlier? I think it was that 2 out of 3 Americans don't trust their neighbors. I still like to think that most people are good and willing to help.
  9. I didn't really follow him and not sure if I've seen his movies, however I have been reading that he was very involved in relief and charity work. What a loss to those he has helped and to his family, may he RIP.
  10. When you hold a grudge against the new person in your ex's life, you're giving him power over you. You're making him seem more important in your life than he should be. All he should be is the father of your children. If they end up being semi-friends of yours eventually, that is better for all involved. Don't let him think that he still matters that much in your life. I know you may be lonely and think you need a man in your life but take care of yourself and do things for yourself that make you happy and someday the right person will show up.
  11. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has trouble with this. Won't have to worry about it this year since I won't have any money until Wednesday to even buy one. Wonder if I could still find a fresh one Wednesday. I guess I could brine it for 24 hours - maybe that would work.
  12. I was twelve and was at home sick watching tv with my mom. It was a very sad time and watching the pictures on tv of his children standing by the roadside during the procession still brings back those sad feelings. It really makes me feel old realizing that it was 50 years ago. There were some really rough times with losing JFK and Robert and then MLK, the Vietnam war and the race riots.
  13. Sorry, I don't know how to do the link thing. I googled it and it was in Newnan, GA.
  14. I saw a Georgia stand your ground case the other day where the shooter went back to his truck to get his firearm and went back into a bar to "stand his ground" and killed a man for talking to his girlfriend - and he was acquitted. Can't remember what county that was. I don't understand how he could use the "stand your ground" defense in that case.
  15. Did anyone else see this story on CNN? A child was found handcuffed to the front porch with a dead chicken around his neck. His foster mother is a North Carolina social worker.
  16. I've been watching CNN most of the day since I have family and friends in Indiana.
  17. I just read this after reading the other thread about the shooting that happened close to where I used to live. I'm very glad your daughter is okay and that the person was arrested.
  18. Very sad, poor child. Wasn't there another one a couple of years ago that was adopted from another country and the mother sent him back?
  19. I'm beginning to wonder if there is anything safe to eat any more.
  20. Prayers for the little girl, family and the person driving. How awful. Hope she'll be ok.
  21. I hope they can get you in to a neurosurgeon quickly. Sending positive vibes your way and will keep you in my thoughts.
  22. As upsetting as this is to us, I can't imagine how the family members that tried to intervene, must feel. I would never forgive myself if I hadn't done everything I could to protect my child.
  23. My high school mascot was a woodchuck.
