Wow, I'm glad you ran into the right surgeon. I didn't know I had diverticulitis either. They said they cleaned out a lot of infection and put me strong antibiotics (still on them). Now we're just waiting for the colon to heal so they can reconnect. I didn't know these things even happen. They said they've been seeing 3-5 a week at Gwinnett Medical Center. Thank you, I wish you luck with yours also and better health for all of us this new year.

I know, I said I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I live in Gwinnett now so I went to Gwinnett Medical Center. Are you feeling better now? I go back in three months for reconnection so I am fortunate for that even though I'm still very scared about the whole thing. Thank you!

I had a scare on Christmas Eve and ended up in emergency surgery Christmas morning and finally came home today. Has anyone else experienced a perforation of the colon? The past few days have not been fun.

I have always preferred Miracle Whip in my potato salad, egg salad and on turkey sandwiches, but I don't use much mayo anymore. I do like Duke's too. Mostly I use mustard on sandwiches and evoo in tuna salad.

I read something the other day about soaking lemons or oranges for a few days and then mixing with water, as a cleaner. I'll have to see if I can find the article because I can't remember what liquid you use to soak the citrus.
