  1. I don't think anyone here is complaining about the lack of chips, pop tarts and pizza. The fact that they charge the same price for less food? Maybe. I was only giving examples of how vending machine choices have changed. I wonder what the sodium content is in reduced fat chips? Sometimes fat isn't the biggest evil to be found in foods.
  2. My daughter has been complaining too. They still have chips in the vending machines but they are reduced fat and smaller portions. They still have pop tarts in the vending machine but instead of a pack of two there is only one in each pack. She was telling me this morning that the band students aren't allowed to sell candy anymore for their fundraisers. I think that's a shame, I know the kids raise a lot of money that way every year. It does make me think about the poor kids who don't get enough to eat at home and sometimes the only meal they have is the one they get from school. I don't t
  3. Sounds awesome. I don't get out much. Where is this place?
  4. I made mini meatloaves wrapped with bacon and topped with a tangy-spicy sauce, spinach with caramelized mushrooms and onions and a Parmesan cream sauce, buttery-dill fried red potatoes and garlic bread.
  5. Says you. I plan to live forever, and ever, and ever. Or at least until March 16, 2880
  6. I read that at the time of the shooting the officer was unaware that Michael Brown was a suspect in the store robbery. Is that wrong?
  7. No doubt. Do we know for sure that the guy in the surveillance video is Michael Brown? I'm trying to follow the story as much as I can. I'm only hearing and seeing bits and pieces.
  8. Seriously though, I can't wait until they catch this little douche bag. God for bid I ever have to use my ninja skills, I would be more than happy to use them on this guy. I bet I wouldn't be charged either. It's a win-win.
  9. I haven't tried this recipe but it looks good- http://m.justapinch.com/recipe/lynn-socko/rustic-stewed-cube-steak/healthy-beef
  10. There is this- http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/06/marlboro_mans_f/ It's not healthy but it sure is good. You could always use less butter than the recipe calls for.
  11. Sigh, This makes me so scared for when my little boy starts kindergarten. He is so sweet and vulnerable, I would hate to think of anybody picking on him, but I'm sure it's going to happen. I always told my daughter if anybody hits her to hit them back. She won't be in trouble with me. I will tell my son the same.
  12. WHAT?!? It's going to snow? :runningtoFredsformilkandham:
  13. Drivers get out of their cars to express their displeasure often. Even Mr. Stewart himself. I have no doubt that he saw the guy, that's why he revved his engine when he passed. He just wasn't expecting that outcome.
  14. I'm making chicken n' dumps in the crock pot. Kale chips and blackeyed peas on the side. I'm going to be as lazy as my 3 year old will allow today.
  15. I'm surprised to hear that he's going to race today, I don't think I could.
  16. Man, that's just terrible. I wonder if he will be charged. I like Tony Stewart but I know in the past he's been sort of a hothead. In fact, I didn't like him before because of that, he seems to have matured a lot over the past years. I feel bad for him, you know he didn't mean to kill the guy and now he has to live with that forever.
  17. I love terrible sci-fi movies. My ideal day off would be my couch and a handful of terrible sy-fy movies starring John Schneider and another handful of Bravo. And scallops.
  18. Tonight I'm keeping it simple with burgers and homemade fries. Tomorrow's meal is the one I'm really excited about, shrimp and grits y'all! And yes, I missed the dinner threads. Glad you're back and doing better.
  19. I agree, I wish we could limit travel to the areas most affected. It makes sense to me.
  20. Yep. I hope the poor thing will be ok but at least someone is keeping track of him.
  21. The spread is inevitable because of travelers. That has nothing to do with the two Americans that are being taken care of in America.
  22. No feeling you have is wrong. Not knowing about the well-being of your child is a horrible stress and I think you're doing pretty well. I don't know if substance-abuse is involved with your daughter but maybe an Al-Anon meeting would help you. Also, I know my mom would be more than happy to talk to you if you need someone to talk to thats been there and done that. She is very active in Al-Anon and quite possibly one of the wisest people I have ever met in my life. She's like a free life coach/counselor. She helps people with stuff like this all the time. PM me if you want her number. I'm still
  23. My mom's advice for when you find yourself offended or up in arms about another persons viewpoints is to put a q-tip in your pocket so you will be reminded to not take it personally. Quit. Taking. It. Personally. people are never going to agree with each other all the time and life is too short to hold grudges.
  24. Bring them home. Some things just can't be fixed and then it's time for self-preservation.
