  1. It's really wonderful what the community did for this little boy but my heart still breaks for him and his mother. As a mother of a son on the spectrum, this type of thing is a fear of mine for when he gets older.
  2. This thread turned out exactly how I thought it would. It is amusing, but also a little bit sad.
  3. Westridge, I only know because East Paulding ROTC as their awards ceremony there every year.
  4. If a church has enough money for a food court, a water fountain, and intercoms in the bathroom, they have enough money to shelter the homeless.
  5. I add celery, a teaspoon or two of fresh lemon juice, and bacon crumbles to my chicken salad.
  6. Good to know. My parents have a second home in a retirement community in Daytona. It's a very small house with only two very small bedrooms and they are constantly wanting me to visit. I have two kids and a husband. I appreciate their offer to let us stay with them, but...
  7. I went and stocked up on supplies because I refuse to leave the house if its below 20 degrees.
  8. I can definitely understand your point of view. I think my parents are more environmentaly aware than I am, they're old hippies, they can't help it.
  9. We should totally go back to the way things used to be. I'm going to go get my recycling container and empty it into my regular trash can. I've never once heard a younger person accusing an older person of being selfish or wasteful for such reasons listed above. Or for any reason for that matter. But now that I know it's happening, I'm definitely going to start being outraged about it.
  10. Tattoos have been around for thousands of years, I don't think they're going out of style anytime soon. I have a wee flower on my upper back. Being the romantics that we are, my husband and I got tattoos on our honeymoon. I don't like or dislike it. I forget it exists because I can't see it.
  11. I woke up early so I could hit the store before all of the other crazy people. Turns out I forgot paper towels and Teddy Grahams. I just read that Cobb County called school for Monday. That surprises and scares me.
  12. I hope you all enjoy your VD! <3
  13. No thanks, I just want to lay down.
  14. FYI, the documentary is available On Demand for only $2.99.
  15. You know what I hate more than cold weather? Cold, windy weather. Bah humbug!!!
  16. In Paulding, Fuji sushi is the best. outside of Paulding, I'm not sure because I rarely leave Paulding.
  17. This is easy. Get her a card and some flowers and keep your mouth shut. My husband is getting me sushi for lunch. He just doesn't know it yet. I'm getting him the usual.
  18. I'm reading that she will not be taken off life support tomorrow. Regardless of when it happens, I'm just glad I'm not in the shoes of her loved ones. Grief is grief no matter how many reality TV shows you've been a part of.
  19. JC Penny has a lot of formal dresses.
  20. I have no tips, as I have never traveled west of Alabama. Sounds fantastic though, have fun! I do know one thing, when I finally make it out to California, I'm definitely getting tickets to the Price is Right.
  21. Wait, you mean a member of the media was disingenuous!? We should all be outraged, just this once.
  22. Anyway, this whole situation is completely tragic.
  23. I love this post. My daughter is 17 and has studied religion on her own, because she wanted to. I have never pushed religion, or non religion on her. She learned about it before she made a decision about it. Which is what I have always taught her to do. She's a good kid and I know lots of people who are non believers who are excellent people as well. Some of the best people I know, actually.
