I do realize when I give money to people that I might be supporting a panhandling career but when I see kids I can't not help in some way. When my daughter and I were shopping a few weeks ago we came across a family asking for money and they had a baby. I had my daughter roll down her window and hand them a $5 bill. I could tell it made her feel good to do that. Maybe they didn't deserve my money but I was happy I gave my daughter the opportunity to know what it feels like to give. And I hope that when she is grown, she will do the same. I hate to think that this family with kids is making

Over the past week or two there has been a man and or woman and child that hang around the New Hope publix. I wonder if it's the same people? My sweet husband bought them a subway gift card last week. I feel so bad for the kids. Maybe somebody can help them out or point them in the right direction.

I feel like sports are important just as the arts are. Perhaps the kid who doesn't do so well in algebra or history excels on the football field and it keeps him in school. No doubt academics are more important but we have to give these kids an outlet.

Sigh. This breaks my heart.

When a 22 year old robs a store, he or she must have had terrible parents. When a 22 year old blows $90,000 that their grandparents left them for the sole purpose of continuing their education, the parents get a pass. Who am I to judge? If the story is true this girl will have to live with this the rest of her life. Disappointing my grandmother to me is even worse than disappointing my parents.

My mother started going through menopause at the age of 40. She also has Hashimotos disease though so I don't know if it has anything to do with that.

I started reading To Kill a Mockingbird last night. I have never read it before. So far I really enjoy it. I wanted to read it because of all the controversy surrounding the new one coming out. I've read so many people saying that they don't want to read the new one because they don't want it to ruin their image of Atticus.
