  1. I hate that they closed! Restaurants that feature country cooking are hard to come by!
  2. Let me know too when you get them done....I'll take a ride over and test them out for you! Give you my expert opinion. LOL
  3. I was beginning to believe that I was the only person on earth to remember this program. I loved that program and I could never find anyone that knew what I was talking about. LOL I also loved Magnum PI, Three's Company, The Monkees, and General Hospital (during the Luke and Laura phase plus Noah Drake (Rick Springfield) phase). Television is just not as good as it use to be....there is too much junk on now.
  4. I've not received mine.....beginning to wonder if it was a trick.
  5. My husband and I are thifty shoppers. We decided to go visit that store and left without buying a single item. I've heard people talk about what a wonderful store it was but I didn't like it. The prices were low but I didn't recognize a single brand and noticed most things were manufactured from other countries. I rather catch items on sale at other stores and stock up. I know it's a drive but I also like to go to Food Depot to stock up on certain items (but trustworthy name brands)that are better prices there. Their cereals and canned items are usually a better price.
  6. I would have to say that I would love to try the coconut cake and the eclairs. They are two of my favorites! If you want to catch the breakfast crowd during the week, you would have to open early. Most people drive into Marietta or Atlanta and have to get an early jump on the traffic to make it on time. However, staying open late would be good too. All those people travelling back home cannot not make it back until late. I'm sure after you get a feel for it you will be able to determine which hours are a waste to stay open. I would think Mondays and Fridays would be the best days to catch
  7. Just to let you know, you can develop an allergy to something that never bothered you before. I had a family friend that had always eaten seafood start having an allergic reaction at a seafood restaurant and had to be rushed to the hospital. The doctor told her that it was common for someone to develop an allergy that they never had before. So you might want to pay close attention to the ingredients in case you have problems at a later date with something else you eat to compare and try to determine what it was that did it.
  8. I've smelled chicken poop before and this stuff smelled worst. I know I saw one of their calfs laying in the field dead a few days before that and I was looking to see if that was the smell. I didn't see the calf anymore though. I would have to agree with Matthewspiglet, it was a smell from hell. I was half way down Austin Bridge before the clean air finally entered the car windows.
  9. My husband and kids saw it yesterday. We live off of Austin Bridge which runs off of Ridge Road. My seven year old was excited and had to tell me all about it when I came in the door last night. My husband said that he didn't even have time enough to get the camera. By the time he came back out of the house with the camera it was too far away. He said it was the Metlife blimp.
  10. I am so sorry for your lost! I lost one almost ten years ago now. You never forget but it does get easier over time. I still find my self crying here and there. But I have other healthy kids (which will come in time for you) and you will get caught up with dealing with everyday chores. I would suggest finding someone that has gone through it and willing to talk to you anytime you need it until it gets easier to deal with on your own. It will slowly get better but it will always be with you. Bless your heart!
  11. You can also do the equal parts of grape jelly and salsa with meatballs cooked in a crock pot. These taste great and always get compliments. Another quick easy recipe is to heat a can of no beans chili and add one 8 oz pack of cream cheese. Melt the cheese until it is well blended with the chili. This one is good to put in one of those little dip crock pots to keep warm.
  12. Sprinkle them with the Hidden Valley Ranch powder used for their salad dressing. You can also try Teriyaki or cajun seasonings. My personal favorite is butter with Garlic salt. It's fun to experiment with different seasonings to see what flavor you like best.
  13. canned biscuits make a pretty good dumpling in a hurry or a pinch......just cut them into halves or quarters (you could roll them into balls) and put into the broth after everything else is cooked I like to fix homemade chicken noodle soup (make sure there is plenty of juice / broth) and when everything is cooked, I put the biscuits on top of the broth and put a cover on. The biscuit will cook in no time into dumplings. It's good to eat with the soup.
  14. Same way I fix mine and they are wonderful. The Garlic Salt ones are the best to me but the ranch ones are wonderful too! I haven't tried cajun but I just might have to now.
  15. I know Clark Howard use to talk about one. You could possibly check his site to see if he has it listed.
  16. Your pictures are gorgeous! I haven't been to NC in a long time and your pictures make me want to jump in the car right now. Thanks for sharing....they were all so good. I would have to say the waterfall was my favorite picture.
  17. You know, I personally don’t care what the kid does. I’m just glad that he doesn’t belong to me and that he is not an influence on my kids. The one thing that gets me is that he doesn’t feel its fair he has been treated this way. Yet he feels that it is okay if the school has to make all the rest of the kids conform for him. That is exactly what is wrong with our country. Too many times things are changed for a few people instead of what is best for the majority. I agree with Cobb, let him do whatever he wants but just do it off somewhere by himself.
  18. I had mine removed 16 years ago. I'm just fine without it. I know that I never want to go through that pain again. I can't remember the pain from having my kids but I can remember the pain from my gall bladder. I would do what the doctor said instead of playing around with my life. It can kill you.
  19. I didn't say anything about playing outside. I said leaving them at home alone. But when they are playing outside, I would assume most parents check on them from time to time. It sounds like these parents just send them out the door and never look twice. I don't see where you got the playing outside from. Waiting at the bus stop is not out playing in the yard.
  20. Well, I know that you legally cannot leave children at home alone until the age of twelve. So I would image that would apply to kids standing at a bus stop too. If it was me I would talk to the police department and see what could be done. It sounds like you have tried everything else and the parents are just stupid to leave their kids unattended. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be like the people that witnessed the little boy getting hit by the bus a few weeks ago. It would be something that would haunt you for a long time. I rather have the parents hate me than see a child get hurt or killed.
  21. I broke mine when pregnant by missing a step when I was trying to sit down. I caught the edge of the step and hit my tail bone. The only thing that helped me was using a doughnut cushion. I would suggest going to the doctor too to get meds that will help you deal. It does take a very long time to heal. I also had the doctor tell me that in some cases it can cause headaches. It can cause the nerves in the back to get pulled downward thus causing headaches. I've been lucky enough to have never had headaches from it but you can feel where the tailbone did not heal right. I hope it gets better for
  22. I had to call them last weekend and had problems getting through. It kept telling me it didn't recognize my phone number or account number. It help me to go through the internet option instead of the cable option. I had to wait quite a while but I did finally get a real person to talk to. I simply told them it wouldn't recognize me through the other option. I really hate Comcast and wish there was something better out there. Good luck!
