  1. You are right. It seems what they want are junk stores and tattoo shops. I would love it if there was something to draw me to old Dallas. But until that happens, I will take my business to old Acworth.
  2. You are joking, aren't you? What convoluted crap are you reading that would have you believe that the housing bubble was created to boost the number of republican voters? What too many fail to understand, or refuse to believe, is that the cause of the housing bubble was primarily due to an effort to reverse alleged racism, AKA redlining, and make loans available to virtually anyone. It was not a republican controlled congress that instituted these policies, though they were complicit in their passage. With the idea that you had to make loans available to people who might not me
  3. My disdain is not reserved for only for democrats. In fact, I am not to pleased with either party in their handling of most things. And it is the correct move for one party to get out in front of the other if they sense (or know) there is a weakness or failure that may be exploited by saying "I bet they are going to. . .", then they can say "See? Didn't we say this is what they would do?" I say it is the correct move because they all do the same thing. Every single investigation is characterized as a witch hunt, regardless of time passed, seriousness of the issue, or person(s)/
  4. Thanks for making our point. When these attacks happened, they were not blamed on protests (over a video) that turned violent. The concern at this point is not only that we were attacked and there has been basically no response, but also why we were initially told a lie about it. Had the bush admin come out and fed us a line of crap in an attempt to lessen the attack, there certainly would have been an outcry.
  5. Pubby: I don't necessarily disagree with the basic points of your last post. I do, however, disagree with the idea that this is beating a dead horse. What makes this seem like beating a dead horse is the fact that those who ask the questions are not getting the answers. And no, I DO NOT mean they are not getting the answers they want to hear. . . they are getting no answers, just more stonewalling and delay. It used to be that the press had a noble and vital role for the health of the Republic (which, btw, I am happy that you didn't call this a democracy) and that role was
  6. It should not be a mandate that everyone purchase health insurance. If it needed to be, it should be decided state by state, by the voters. This law has done nothing to reform the healthcare system, nor seriously lowering any of the inflated costs. This law should be repealed because it has done more harm than good. In another post you said you like to learn. You should go do that.
  7. How do you intend to solve a problem if it is the result of the action/inaction of a person or group of people? First the problem must be identified and acknowledged. Then anyone who has any information about the problem must provide any and all information. And if there are people who do not want to provide the requested information? I guess that is the end of problem solving, huh? I mean, you don't dare start "pointing fingers" when trying to make the case that you can't obtain the information needed to solve the problem. This is really eye opening. It seems that
  8. Another rant. Sure, just call it what you want and dismiss it. Journalist? Right. The difference is that when we were attacked 9.11.01, we took action, and had a lengthy investigation to figure out how and why it happened. Another difference is that this didn't happen during an election in which the incumbent repeatedly claimed that the terrorists were on the run and any terrorist attack at that time would show him the fool. But no. . . this is just another rant. There is no need to get to the bottom of it. You would do well in the journalistic society of today.
  9. In some regards, what the story of benghazi has become is disgusting. Those who want to make it about the room the president was in, for example, are doing just as much of a disservice to those who died as the ones who lied about the cause of the attack. Same for those who think that anything to do with this could (or should) ever lead to impeachment. But the fact remains that we have not been given all the facts.
  10. How freaking pathetic! Some suggest that we are just looking for something - anything - to make this president look bad. Anyone that has any sense can find plenty of things wrong with this president (sadly he is not unique in this regard). It has been suggested that too much money has been spent trying to get to the bottom of benghazi, yet those who make that claim seem to pay no attention to the millions spent on failed govt.-sponsored business ventures, or the money being thrown in the pit for a variety of welfare-type programs. And any suggestion that obamacare is in any way
  11. Pubby: Amazing that you would in any way reference nazis in this whole thing. A play on words meant as a joke? Yeah, that may be, but it is seemingly always in the forefront of your mind. No one is suggesting that a political gain was achieved as a result of this attack. However, a political disadvantage was averted by characterizing this attack as being the result of protests against a youtube video that turned violent. For months leading up to the 2012 election, your guy was claiming that al-qaeda was on the run, that they weren't any real threat. What a black eye
  12. When I lived in Florida, I took my first flight as part of a marketing class in the 7th grade.
  13. You certainly have steps 4 and 5 down to an art. I wonder why your topics don't get "hot".
  14. If an insurer is now required to provide services/items/whatever that would have been optional in previous plans, they will simply eliminate other services/items/whatever. So, yes. . . it may very well be a decision made by the insurer, but it may very well have been made because of obamacare. It's the unintended consequences that so many people either don't understand or are willing to look past. But isn't health care for all a noble idea? And isn't that all that really matters: the intent? Consequences be damned!
  15. Common Core is a disgrace more than a joke. Different ways of doing the same old things, change for the sake of change. . . And this because our schools (generally speaking) are doing a poor job of producing educated adults. Those in positions of power and control cannot accept that it is the quality of instruction that has caused the problem and not necessarily how the material is taught. Math is math is math. It is supposed to be the universal language, and while there are given ways to solve and equation, there are certainly shortcuts that can be used. But to change
  16. Tone = A Main Idea = C PoV = B Theme = D Audience = E According to The College Writer, Ed. 11
  17. The wife watched something the other day and those people do not seem to want to help their cause.
  18. If zombies and vampires are real, then I assume werewolves are as well.
  19. If a werewolf transforms during a full moon, does it revert back to human form during the eclipse? Movies would have us believe that cloud cover obstructing the view of the moon prevents them from changing, but I don't buy into that. I mean, the tides are still affected even if we don't see the moon. So. . . Werewolf: does it change during an eclipse of the full moon or not?
  20. What are the three main issues of Paulding county in your opinion? What are your specific plans to address these issues?
  21. Stupid lunar eclipses! Why are they always at night!?
  22. My point is that the right to vote is denied for various reasons. One other reason would be if the person is not smart enough. A think a basic test would be something on the level of a 10th grade education, with a concentration on the govt. system of America. Certainly there would be critics that suggested that even that level is not fair, but then is any restriction fair? I know there will never be such a test put in place. It would come down to disenfranchising voters, racial bias, and discriminating against the poor. So stupid, gullible people will continue to believ
  23. Nothing in the Constitution grants the right to vote to every citizen. In fact, in the beginning only landowners could vote. Every other class/group was granted the right to vote through amendments to the Constitution.
