  1. Championing the cause on behalf of dummies every where? You make a good poster child.
  2. Who knows? Everybody needs a good probing every so often.
  3. The idea of screening is about prevention?? Prevention of what? I thought your original point was to conduct mental health screenings, and the last I heard you can't get a vaccination for mental illness. So, what then? And I wonder if you have ever heard of Ritalin? It is the popular solution for those pesky kids that are too active, having been diagnosed as having a psychiatric disorder known as ADD/ADHD. Is it not a reasonable conclusion that more kids will end up medicated? Also, anyone who thinks they should be their kids friends shouldn't have kids. . . and it'
  4. If that's what you took from what I said. . . To remind you, I agreed that behavioral classes would be good (grades 5,8, and 11) I disagree with you about mental health screens as a general practice. People like you don't seem to realize that your "fixes" to one problem often lead to a multitude of other problems. Your solution might catch those few who have a real, diagnosable psychological disorder, but it will misdiagnose others. Those who are misdiagnosed will be medicated and forced to go through counseling, put on watch lists and subjected to ridicule from their class
  5. I guess what I mean about debates is that candidates will always try to score points at the each other's expense. I would like a format where each candidate was asked the same question and required to answer without the knowledge of any other candidate's answer, such as a video conference or the like.
  6. While a debate is supposed to be the basic format for interested voters to get an idea of what the candidates stand for, they have mostly turned into a mud wrestling exhibit. I know it isn't possible, but I think one could get a better feel for a candidate if it was possible to have a sit down. At the least, a series of single candidate town hall meetings might be beneficial. Tony Crowe is a nice guy and I have no problem with him. I want to know what each candidate's plans are, but I feel a debate is as necessary as a swimsuit competition would be.
  7. Inconceivable: I like what you said and agreed with you up until you blamed "Friends". I watch it all of the time because it's a feel-good show. And your name annoys me. All I think about is "The Princess Bride" and Vizzini saying that. . . and Ignio Montoya saying " you keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means." But that's my problem.
  8. I think that a behavioral science course is a good idea. If it was offered in transitional grades, it might be effective. However, a screen for mental issues is a terrible idea. On any given day a child may show signs of having an issue when they don't, or show no signs of an issue when there is one. Then there are the roller coaster emotions that may trigger concern when there need no be any. I believe we have discussed this before. . . It's a sad state, but some people are just bad. And not everyone can be fixed.
  9. The confusing thing about conflict is that it allows those who are conflicted to inflict their perceived afflictions on those who, upon reflection, had no affiliation with the original conflict. Commonly, from a common sense point of view, commoners lack the ability to understand the intricacies of business, politics, or the written word. However, we can all have a harmonious existence if we stand up for everything that we disagree with in harmony with commonality. /s
  10. Here is a pie chart that serves to illustrate this topic:
  11. Wow. I think what I like about you is your outgoing, friendly, inclusive attitude. You manage to offend conservatives on a regular basis, as well as those who use logic and common sense on a daily basis. Now you want to insult southerners, christians (specifically baptists), and dummies. What did dummies ever do to you? What friends do you have left? I mean, do they allow you to have make-believe friends in that nut house?
  12. So what is your problem this time? The states that pulled out of the medicaid expansion (that would have ended up having to be fully funded by the states)? Or the bible belt? Or baptists? Or Christians? Are you ever concerned over any real problems, or is it just the imaginary ones?
  13. Interesting that you are so skilled in the art of parroting. You are one of the many minions that spread the misinformation that the party in power wants out there, and you do it effortlessly. What of the rats in washington, the ones who take our freedom, take our money, then expect us to sit down and shut up? You are the type of person they want us all to be: a person who blindly follows what they say, a person who is easily distracted from truly important issues, and a person who buys into their efforts to pit us against each other. Maybe you'll win an award.
  14. I liked it and am looking forward to this season.
  15. When I read some of the things you say, I cannot help but wonder a couple of things: Are the things you say actually your conclusions/words/thoughts/opinions, or are you regurgitating what others have fed you? If what you say are your own conclusions/words/thoughts/opinions, do you really believe what you say? And if you really believe the things you say, are you serious in your bid for political office, or is this a farce? The last thing I wonder is if you believe what you say, and if you are serious about being elected to office, you obviously don't put much thought into what
  16. Had you stopped before that last sentence (and the post script) I would have respected your opinion. But you blew that, not that you care (though you should since you are running for office). Oh. Crap. I basically agree with your response, though I am not certain that Solyndra was the right company to put any faith in (well, now I am). I think a lot of people don't realize that many of our technological advances were born in govt., usually in the military or space program.
  17. Yeah, I forgot about Woodstock. It is nice. Even D'ville has an OK downtown. Maybe Paulding is just supposed to be backwards and out of touch. But I like my little corner of it.
  18. If the govt. wants to invest in green alternatives, it should put the money in the hands of those who are trying to develop those alternatives. A university or organization working on a long-lasting battery or efficient storage and easy use of solar energy, for example, should be funded. Not a business that claims to have the next best thing - especially after the other failed business attempts. The approach of the govt when trying to promote "green" seems to be flawed, from deciding to back a business in the first place, to apparently not doing any background research into the pro
  19. I would guess that it will not be a Krispy Kreme. Oh yeah, and probably not an Arby's either.
  20. Well you have me there! I do not agree that man is the sole cause (or even the primary cause) in any climate change. I do believe that we are contributors. I also believe that those who are leading the charge have taken this issue and made it their religion - and they are zealots. The whole "do-what-I-say, not-as-I-do" crowd has zero integrity and are no better than any other cult leaders. But kudos to you pubby!! This is another misdirection from you, and more proof that you will fit in well in the political arena.
  21. Again: unbelievable! "To say otherwise is dodging, ducking responsibility. . ." You want to say this? Seriously. . . you?? What I can say is that I am at a loss. Having a total disregard for fact and thinking that you can say something over and over and over will make it true qualifies you as a true liberal politician.
