  1. That's too much trouble. Maybe I will just take my chances.
  2. Generally speaking, people suck. And I think this whole zero tolerance thing is a crock of shi'ite.
  3. Oh crap... I need to go pet my black cat. Sorry, I mean my African-American cat. That will cancel out Friday the 13th, right?
  4. I think I see what your problem is. You would like to think that you can control what your tax dollars pay for. You complain about "subsidizing" minimum wage earners (in the form of food stamps and welfare) with the belief that you will somehow be relieved of this burden if they are paid more. I want some of what you are smoking. Your taxes will not go down, you will have no say as to what those idiots in govt. spend the money on, and for you to try and tie fast food wages to what you "subsidize" is laughable. You are some kind of radical because you are some kind
  5. If you go to the casino. let me know.
  6. I wish I had suggestions to fix the problem. If so, I would make a lot of money as a consultant. But it doesn't take an auto mechanic to know that a car needs to be repaired. Most of us know that we have a problem that needs to be fixed, but we don't have the know-how to fix it. The Sound Guy mentioned "...those workers that have the desire to work hard..." and that is part of the problem. I don't really think there are all that many people out there who have a desire to work hard, even for an appropriate wage. And that comes back to mindset: too many people believe the
  7. I agree with the first part of your post. But as far as ramping up tariffs with the ultimate goal of creating production here... I doubt that will ever happen. Consider the uproar over the wage paid to fast food workers and those who feel they need to be paid more. How much, then, will those in production need to earn be paid according to the "very well-informed" that want fast food workers to get a raise? $25/hr? $40/hr? It may be an outside possibility that production can take place here, but none of us would ever be able to afford any of it. Unless, of course, we go
  8. I heard on the news this morning that about two-thirds of the jobs are not only part time, but in low paying positions. This certainly won't help the economy. Meanwhile, Georgia's unemployment rate stands at 8.8%
  9. Oh, but I also did something else. I pointed out facts. Not that you would know what one of those were.
  10. Do you actually believe what you post or are you copying and pasting? Okay... change the business model and make all the workers full time. The first thing you will see is a loss of jobs because there will be no money, room, or need for all workers to remain employed. So arguably half of the staff gets laid off. And that is a good thing? Then there's your beloved leaders health care atrocity that requires coverage for full-time employees (if they employ 50+), which if a franchisee has 2 or more stores it would affect them. And do you seriously think that prices would no
  11. I fear that facts are lost on those that believe an increase in pay is the answer. In the past, Walmart was the bad guy (and I suppose it still is for some) because it makes so much money, while paying its workers the mandated minimum wage. Now the bad guy is the fast food industry, specifically McD's since it is the biggest company. I cannot understand how some come to the conclusion that since McD's makes money, its employees should get paid more. Yes, there are some people that have had no choice but to work there due to the economic situation. Odds are those same people
  12. Wow. I suppose this is a case of ones screen name having nothing to do with real life. If you were well read, you certainly wouldn't make such a ridiculous statement. Forget about the numerous UN sanctions that Iraq violated, or the coalition of countries that went into Iraq, or the fact that congress voted for use of force overwhelmingly... The "lies", as you call them, were decided to be lies after finally getting into Iraq and finding the evidence removed. This was due, in part, to the fact that there was no rush to get in to Iraq, rather it was a case made and presented
  13. Never know. I'm sure it would work equally well for pressure cooked wife. The problem with that is that she is the one who can cook in this house.
  14. I wonder if he tasted good. I didn't see in the story whether she added and vegetables or what type of seasoning she may have used.
  15. Oh yeah... The pile of dead babies. ♪♪♫♪ Memories.. ♫♪♪♫
  16. Oh. I thought this was a Planned Parenthood topic.
  17. I was going to say the exact same thing. It is a little scary that people have decided that profit is bad and/or that any profit a company makes should be distributed among its employees. Yet some of these same people complain when the govt takes their money (in the form of taxes) and gives it to others who did not invest their time and/or effort to earn it. The two cannot be reconciled. Basically, anything I have left over after paying everything I am required to pay (house, utilities, vehicle) is my profit, with which I can do whatever I please (savings, new TV) and if I have
  18. I can only say that your misrepresentation of my so-called attitude in regard to immigrants ignores the fact that I clearly said illegal aliens. But I see where the mistake is mine, because I didn't use the politically correct terminology that is understood by liberals... oh, um... I mean... progressives. I should have said that only RINOs, democrats and stupid people want undocumented workers (not illegal aliens) here. I could have just avoided all of the confusion. Silly me. But yes, immigrants come in two flavors: legal (those who come to this country legally, using the
  19. I will say one last thing before I resume ignoring you... It certainly is not republicans that want illegal aliens. Just RINOs and democrats. And stupid people.
  20. Yeah, you would think that after over 1800 years, they would find their niche in fast food.
  21. These three posts are great. It confuses me that more people don't get it. Yes, I know there are others who have posted here that do get it and have made great posts as well. At the same time, there are some here who seem upset that a person could possibly be forced to work 8 hours (yes, 8 whole hours) on their feet for minimum wage. As a couple of people have pointed out, kids today have no idea what it means to earn something, much less appreciate it. I would expand that to include those in to their mid-twenties. And while some have had to take whatever job they
  22. Great post. Though the idea of "working your ass off" to get ahead is a concept lost on most. A stepping stone!!!! Exactly. This type of job (unless one is interested in management) is not meant to provide a person with a living wage. Fast-food jobs are jobs, not careers... meant to gain some type of experience in a work environment, develop a work ethic, earn a little cash, and then move on. Anyone who went to work at a fast-food place knew they would be on their feet, knew they would not make a lot of money... and took the job anyway. Part of the problem i
  23. I am glad to hear that this has all been a lot of nothing. However, There is quite a difference between sick individuals, those who cannot follow a moral code, let alone the law, and the govt. infringing on our Constitutional freedoms... which too many people are "okay" with if it has some supposed higher purpose or serves "the greater good" or (my favorite) if it's "for the children". In the case of violent or sex offenders, they have, in most cases, their 4th amendment rights suspended while on probation (and in the case of sex offenders it is longer), so I suggest that they
  24. ↑This is part of the problem when it comes to the erosion of our freedom. ↑Here it is again. ↑↑And finally a voice of reason. Going to the school is always a hassle as it is and background checks should be reserved for employees and regular volunteers only. The school system needs to spend more thought, effort and money on providing the kids with a proper education before they do anything else. Of course, that would require a govt. agency to do what it was established to do... and we know how that goes.
