  1. Probably should not have signed up to get Social Security while recovering from surgery a few days earlier, but I did. Now that my deposits were supposed to start, they haven't hit the bank. Then I remembered I had copied down my account number wrong and saved it on my computer. THAT'S what I used with the SSA. I did change it online last week but it won't take effect for two more months! Anyone know what will happen in the meantime? Is it like a direct deposit of your tax refund and if the account number is invalid they send you a check in a month or so? Thinking I'll run by
  2. My best friend came very close to dying from a tooth infection. If not for a very alert alternative health practitioner, she would not be here now.
  3. I think you should get the person's written permission to use their photo on any social media. And if a child, it DOES NOT GET POSTED. Period.
  4. If you're in the Dallas/West Cobb area, there is none better than Tina Drummond (aka Barbed Wire). http://www.anddrum.com/
  5. I thought he did. I tend to not pay attention to ads on TV but that one caught my attention. And he looks quite a bit like his dad, too.
  6. Interesting. I thought Robert Kennedy Jr was joining Morgan and Morgan.
  7. Yes, it's possible to go back to work on disability. And there is no "partial" disability in Social Security Disability. Nor does the disability need to be permanent. Expected to last a year or longer and make you unable to do your job are the requirements. IOW, if he has had jobs in the past 10 or 15 years that he could go back to, he would not be considered disabled. Or if he had skills that would be easily transferred to another job, he would not be considered disabled. And if he was just unable to work right now, for the next few months, he would not be considered disabled. Bu
  8. I agree with you about the money hungry attorneys and insurance companies but it's a small price to pay to get a fair deal. My daughter had a figure in mind and increased it to account for the attorney fee. Got almost that much. And that was a whole lot more than she would have gotten without the attorney. Without him, she never would have gotten treatment. Most of the few times she actually got treatment--cortisone injections basically--it was after the attorney petitioned a judge to grant it.
  9. Definitely run it by an attorney. As the ads say the insurance company doesn't have his best interest at heart so that needs to be protected. Nothing to prevent him from filing for disability. In fact, if he can't work, he SHOULD file. If he is still working, no need in filing. My daughter just got a Work Comp settlement about three weeks ago. She was hurt on the job in April 2015 and never really got proper treatment. Heck, never really got *treatment* of any kind. She's in Florida. And yes, she had an attorney almost from the beginning because the insurance company gave he
  10. Probably nothing. Hopefully nothing. Planning on going to the beach. If so, Christmas dinner will be Waffle House, IHOP or some other place that is open that day. Or I'll pick up something at the deli the night before.
  11. It's with Cigna. I know they aren't accepting new applications but according to a friend who has it, they are renewing them.
  12. Whew!!! I thought maybe I had lost something during my recovery from surgery. Well, lost something other than my mind. Thank you!!!!!! You have taken a load off my mind. He does want to keep the same plan even though he wasn't happy with the added benefit of dental care. Not the benefit itself but the dentist we went to. I'll try another one this coming year.
  13. Hubby's first year with a supplement. Should he have gotten something about renewing it? He has gotten absolutely nothing--for either going back to standard Medicare or continuing with the supplement. I know the deadline for open enrollment is fast approaching. Just curious about why he hasn't gotten anything (unless it went to his e-mail which he hasn't checked in probably 2 months).
  14. Might be some of the same people who vandalized a park here. They misspelled Satan. Or else they were really into frilly clothes.
  15. Is that where you could buy landscape timbers and rock, etc?
  16. Callaway Gardens with a side trip to the Little White House. You'll like the Little White House better but if either of them like history, they will like it, too. Plus the grounds are pretty nice. And definitely Calloway Gardens. I, however, would love to go to the Space Center.
  17. Generally get one late September/early October but since I was prepping for surgery at that time I decided to forgo the shot at that time. Hope to get to Walgreen's to get one next weekend. After the problems I had last year after having the shot (unrelated to the shot though), I won't go by myself. In fact, it's rare I go very far or for very long by myself any longer.
  18. If I'm not mistaken that would be Pubby or Mrs Pubby.
  19. When my pain became unbearable I had no choice but to have joint replacements. Right knee done June 11,2014. Left knee done September 10, 2014. Left shoulder done three weeks ago today. You'll know.
  20. I used to. You might ask Pubby or Barbed Wire if they know how to get in touch wit a mutual friend of ours by the name of David. I only have an old phone number for him.
