I hear things all the time in my house. I have hardwood floors and stairs. It sounds like somebody is walkin up them, even holding on the the railing. Charlie (my beagle) will wakeup outta his sleep and bark into parts/corners of the room that are empty. Many nights I have gotten up with the gun and dog to check it out, turns out to be nothing.. I tell my old lady thats its a confederate ghost( we live by Kennesaw battle field) and hes cool. (Then I tell myself its just the wood floors expanding/contracting so I can go back to sleep)
