In my little world (where everyone believes as I do -lol) I am trying. I check the country of origin on all fish/meats and only buy US (freaked a woman in Wally World out when she said why would we get fish from china and I showed her where to look). I check all clothing and buy US when I can, other countries when I cannot and never buy clothing made in china. I check where my dog food is "sourced" as well as toys/treats. I do the best I can to buy US first - which usually means I pay more.

Our church has a garden club where the women are mostly her age. Also an over 35 singles group that goes to games/museums/shopping trips. Also, a seniors group that does lunches/dinners together as well as volunteer in several areas. We also have groups that get together to fold newsletters, knit/crochet things for the NICU unit of Kennestone, put together binders for cancer patients - just a ton of things that she could do. The addiction to pain meds is in epidemic proportions.....I've posted about this for going on 2 years. It has ruined not only 4 members of my family, but others as well. Mandates are in place that if you enter a hospital, you are asked about your pain. The meds given now - Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone - are more powerful than illegal drugs of the past and are highly addictive. Pharmacy robberies are on the rise - for meds, not money. I don't want the children institutionalized (although, technically, public school is an institution) - I just don't think that we're handling these children properly nor supporting the parents properly.
