I've posted too much about these places in the past and have received criticism and PM's telling me I'm nuts to think these places are harmful. I can't help but ask, though, who chooses their doctor by pre printed cardboard signs on the side of the road, drives to other states to frequent different clinics, sits in seats OUTSIDE of the building provided on the sidewalk? How many of our immediate care or urgent care places move around often? Doesn't even feel "legit" to me.

My link A Paulding County man was arrested Tuesday after sheriff's investigators found hundreds of alleged child pornography images at his home.

Since kids aren't reading as much as they used to - or at least the quality of books that they used to - are they really being exposed to this word used by Mark Twain in Huck Finn anywhere near the amount they're hearing it in their Ipod?

When my son began to have problems sleeping, the pediatrician recommended 21 days of melatonin to "reset" his clock. worked like a charm. I take it now occasionally - works for me, too.

I agree.....I had a BJ's membership in Woodstock when they first opened. Had many problems. Have a Costco for several years now. LOVE IT!

What the "middle class in this country "needs""????? No, Alec, not what we "need" - WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE STAND FOR. We don't want another fricking actor telling us what we "need" - we have quite a few of them already in D.C. along with way too many comedians. -
Better luck next time! You won actually - this reconnected you to your Dad's sweet memories.

Yeah, read that, too. Told hubs they'd not been grocery shopping. I noticed the increase the week before Thanksgiving. I can get to the checkout and tell you within $2 - $3 what my total will be. Man oh man - it's increased.

LOVE our HSA - High Deductible $5800 thru United Healthcare. You do get the negotiated rates while you're paying your deductible and many docs automatically give discounts or you can ask. I've also learned to "shop" my healthcare with this. Stand alone imaging centers cost a fraction of what having MRI/CT scan/HIDA, etc., at the hospital - one bill & you're done whereas the hospital you keep on receiving bills from everyone.

Was working on parents Medicare the last week of the year and on our insurance.......I kept my humor by thinking about MY DEFINITION for POS instead of theirs - lol

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all report a car/unit number of all the people who break the driving laws around us? Sorta like the old Gallagher comic and his idea of using those kids dart guns that stick with a sign attached....when the car has too many signs, the person is pulled over. One part of me says, yes, call and report. The other part says why do we hold him more accountable than ourselves and others.....first day on pcom since before Christmas....maybe I should just have my coffee & read

My link The IRS said that it needs until mid- to late-February to reprogram its processing systems because Congress acted so late this year cleaning up the tax code. The bill, which includes deductions for state and local sales taxes, college tuition and teacher expenses, wasn't signed into law until Dec. 17.

We didn't renew the antique tag for the 1972 Austin Mini 1000 in August......Hubs said it cost more than he spent in 4 or 5 months gas - lol

Whatever you're drinking, pass some over here!

I never dreamed another human being knew about this movie! My hubs had it on VHS when we met, I bought it for him on DVD a couple of years ago because we MUST watch it every Thanksgiving to "kick off the season properly"!

About the time my little guy could read well, Krispy Kreme donuts began to label the boxes in the grocery store as "Santa's Favorites" - hence a tradition was born! Even though he's a teen, we still set out "Santa" overnight and he puts out 2 donuts and a glass of milk on the counter before he heads to bed. Last year, he offered to warm he donuts!

Are they having "going out of business" sales or will the inventory just be moved?

What are your thoughts? My link But the ministers still insist that no one, especially teachers, should face any criminal charges if found guilty of changing students' test sheet answers. "I see no way for us as a community to call ourselves progressive and innovative if we even talk about jailing teachers," said Rev. Joseph Roberts. The ministers say they don't condone cheating by anyone, but fear fallout from the investigation could cripple Atlanta's Public School system and make it even more difficult to replace outgoing Superintendent Beverly Hall. They believe

Since we were just having this conversation....did anyone read the ajc this morning? My link Survey data collected by the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission indicates that most Americans on Medicare are not have a problem getting doctor's appointments or finding new doctors. But the American Medical Association says that about one in five physicians have limited the number of Medicare patients in their practices because of the program's low payments and the threats that reimbursements would drop even lower. "Medicare is a mess right now," said Dr. Tom Bat, who practices with a

I called and asked today.....was just told that the girl had not been told why he had left, but that he was indeed no longer at the practice.

NO!!! My son has seen him since he was 3 days old & all my nieces & nephews saw him til they grew up. We were just there 3 weeks ago for my sons 13 year check up and saw him! This is awful!

I think that was what shocked me......I know so many people whose families are being affected & as I've mentioned, I've already lost family members. I know that's why I'm so outraged and why I literally feel my blood pressure rise when I pass the "pain management" clinic in Woodstock with seating outside on the sidewalk & people waiting all around. This quote actually made me laugh. "I have to admit we were sort of surprised at how big this had become," said Charles Tomaszewski, former supervisor of the DEA office.

My link "I have to admit we were sort of surprised at how big this had become," said Charles Tomaszewski, former supervisor of the DEA office. "The suburbs, the city, there was no area that wasn't touched by this." Often at no charge, the patients see a doctor, or several doctors, and come away with prescriptions for narcotic OxyContin and other pills they then sell to a dealer for as much as $1,000. If they are on Medicaid, the program is billed about $1,060 for a typical 60-pill, 80-mg prescription, along with the $23-to-$39 cost of the doctor's visit. "These patients, in e

I've got a Question about Employment Laws
onekidmom replied to tuscanytrailer's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't see how that could be mandated to an employer....I mean, the employer can't really tell if they are going to be busy one day versus another and, if they're not busy, but they are forced to pay for hours not actually worked, sooner than later, they'll go out of business because they're loosing money paying employees or they'll not hire as many people and rely more heavily on the employees they have. I know that's hard on an employee who was scheduled to work. I worked part time at Target as well as several bar & grills & restaurants during my college years and single life (whe
