  2. Perfect comment after reading this: My link Family Of Slain 7-Year-Old Waits 4 Years For Trial
  3. According to the suit filed by the Alabama law firm Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, the YUM-brands owned chain is using a meat mixture that contains binders and extenders, and does not meet the minimum requirements set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to be labeled as "beef.” Attorney Dee Miles said the meat mixture contained just 35 percent beef, with the remaining 65 percent containing water, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, anti-dusting agent and modified corn starch. 4. How does this stuff work? How many days in a row do you use it? Have you tried it after working out? As I've aged, my color fades so quickly shampooing every day.....I've looked at this stuff, but wanted to know someone who actually used it before I bought some. (PS LOVE the spin pins when I'm playing tennis or working out!)
  5. Can you imagine her parents - if they are still living - the wounds that could never begin to heal as this person has had hearing after hearing after hearing throughout the years? Each hearing reopening the wound. The fiance who loved her, searched for her, mourned her never really able to let go and move on because of the same thing - even though I"m sure he married & has a family - this still hangs over him? 23 YEARS. TWENTY THREE YEARS before they have closure? That's my problem with our system. I don't think we should take 23 years to close these cases. I do want to make sure we
  6. I remember his show being on tv when I was a kid.....I stayed with my Grandma and we'd have fun doing jumping jacks along with him. I like his quote about dieing would wreck his image - lol. What a life well lived - think of how many he inspired.
  7. The thoroughness of the system should NOT take YEARS. I remember the "Have You Seen Julie Love" fliers EVERYWHERE. I worked not too far from where she disappeared and was close to her age. And, it's taken 23 YEARS in that case - ridiculous.
  8. I am so tired of public dollars being used on the people who are absolutely guilty. I know there are some who are wrongly convicted and I am glad there are new ways to test DNA and all that, but, I mean, come on. And, I know this is standard operating procedure, but, it just uses tax money and ties up the courts. My link He is set to ask the Georgia Supreme Court to overturn his conviction on Monday because he claims dozens of errors were made during the 2009 trial.
  9. I don't think that's legal in Georgia; you may have to move to California.
  10. Every year, every single year, I have one of his teachers randomly tell me that they know he must be an avid reader because they can just "tell" the ones who read regularly outside of the classroom from the ones who don't. I remember one year, we were supposed to have them read a minimum amount per week & they had to track it and we signed off - don't remember why we did that - I think just to encourage - anyway, mine wanted to track just to see how much he read. A parent went ballistic - didn't want her son to be responsible for reading a book - was angry that the teacher wanted them to
  11. I had that happen....girl who slept with my boyfriend......sent me a friend request. I let it sit for a while, then hit ignore. A couple of days later, another request. I deleted it immediately. Well, the third time, I sent her an email and just said, "hey, we adults now, but, I do have to ask - if you hated me so much in high school - why are you sending me friend requests" She sent back that she didn't really hate me, was jealous of me and that I had so many of the high school girls as my "friends" and she didn't, so she thought I'd help her get back in touch with people because I'd bee
  12. I LOVE Herman Cain also, but, I don't think he can pull it off. I love Huckabee - but, he'll never win & as much as I like him and would vote for him if he were local (senate/governor) - not sure I'd support a presidential run. I think Newt Gingrich would be ok, I really do. But, I'm pulling for Paul Ryan to run/win.
  13. By nature, I'm not confrontational. But, in this case, knowing the neighbor or not - if it was his girls taping my son, I'd probably think they had a crush on him & I'd be keeping a very close eye; however, you feel as if it were an adult - in that case, I would have knocked on the door, politely, whether I'd ever met them or not - whether we got along or not, and smiling & polite, would have explained what I saw and ask why are you filming? If the answer was - just filming the kids playing in the snow and our kids weren't friends, I'd say something to the effect of hey, great idea,
  14. My link The $50 fee is countywide. In 2008, King County implemented the new program to ensure that cremations, which are performed after two out of three deaths in the county, were properly reviewed and investigated. Just wow.....could have been better wording, at the very least. While I see what they're doing - every in the county (and elsewhere ) are going to die. Why not just build it into the county budget. I'm still floored.
  15. reminded me of an article i read last week My link Officers found fresh footprints in the snow and followed them to the door of a nearby apartment.
  16. I was misunderstood in my original post by ES.....I am NOT advocating more laws. Probably shouldn't be posting (had surgery this week & just not myself yet). Anyway.....every time I read that we should teach more in schools - I have to wonder - WHY? How has it become the schools responsibility to teach parenting? How does the rest of society - like you and I - know how to parent since we didn't have classes in school? Not being mean, just wondering.
  17. LOVE IT.....I think it's going viral on facebook because a ton of my "friends" have shared it.
  18. My link The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports the woman found two pounds of crystal methamphetamine and 2.2 pounds of cocaine shrink wrapped inside the box, after receiving the vacuum from her children. Sheriff's officials estimate the drugs' street value at about $280,000.
  19. While I agree with revamping the prison system & the legal system - it is broken - I don't think more laws is the answer. Stricter parents or even in some areas of town - parents - raising & taking responsibility for their offspring is the answer. As it is now, when a person is arrested, it's pretty much a joke. You make bail, you're given a free attorney, you make your appearance to have your case postponed (& postponed and postponed,) while filing motion after motion or just having it dismissed. If you do go to trial- it's not your fault. The person who committed the crime w
  20. Yes, I've been keeping up with that. I believe the problem with the majority of these deaths is not acetaminophen, but with oxycontin. This subject is very personal to me. Been researching, attending council meetings not only in Cobb, but other areas - talking with sheriffs offices, doctors, etc. I am not in any way wanting to "stereotype" people who need pain meds - I know these people are in pain and need the meds. I just do no want any other family to go thru what we have. And, in these meetings & my research, I am learning just how widespread the problem is and how easy it is for
  21. I'm not being snarky - I want to learn. Why are our "primary" physicians no longer handling our "pain management"? Here is an article in todays MDJ. My link The ordinance defines pain clinics as those businesses that dispense 50 percent or more of their medication in the narcotics class. Therefore, the ordinance would not apply to many, if any, pharmacies, since most of their medication is penicillin related, Bruton said. In its research, the task force found there were 58 deaths in Cobb County from drug toxicity in 2009, of which 52 were from pharmaceutical drugs
  22. Mostly - all of the above - hold more, more stable in the back of the car, don't have all the plastic around to recycle, doesn't tear like the plastic (like lifting them out of the cart and having them bust while it's raining!). I wash mine once a month - just because one of the baggers made me feel icky one day talking about germs in them - I do use a couple of them that aren't grocery name bags while shopping other places. One of mine is from Old Navy where they run the % off everything you can cram into this bag and others are from other things I've gotten. I throw mine back into the car
  23. Went to the hospital yesterday at 6 a.m. for surgery - Kennesaw Due West to Stilesboro to Barrett to 41 to Church.....no problems. Left at 3 p.m yesterday to come home - Tower/Kennesaw Ave/Old 41/Barrett/Stilesboro/Kennesaw Due West - they were scraping (yes, scraping with a piece of machinery I normally see on construction sites - Kennesaw Avenue at Stilesboro again. We were fine both ways. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Elevations!!
