  1. You can get a bowl of civilized brunswick stew at just about any barbecue place around here. It's made with pork and chicken. Real brunswick stew had rabbit, squirrel, chicken, pork and sometimes even turtle.
  2. Yep. Kroger frozen bread section. Not bad either and a lot easier and less messy.
  3. Buy the frozen dumplings. Boil the boneless chicken first. BTW, buy boneless thighs and boneless breast, the dark meat adds flavor. Cut the boiled chicken into chunks, bring to a boil and throw in the dumplings. Add a little Better Than Bullion chicken bullion that comes in a small jar to help add some flavor.
  4. I stopped having problems when I started using FireFox instead of Explorer. Explorer and AT&T were not very compatible IMO.
  5. You might like Skyline chili in a can. We use that for chili dogs. It's sweet chili.
  6. To answer your original post, unless I was fearing for my life I would get the permit first. I don't like triggering all the background checks and having that info floating around. Like someone else mentioned, if you have your firearm permit you can buy your handgun and take it home with you that day.
  7. One of the few that didn't allow extreme success ruin their life. Understanding what gives true joy is the secret.
  8. Ground turkey breast makes good chili. I use Carroll Shelby seasoning packs. <<<Hoping this doesn't offend anyone>>>
  9. Not sure what has your panties in such a wad, but you could stand to lighten up a notch. Geez, learn to laugh at yourself. You've only stated that your son got his permit the next day three times.
  10. They must have stopped doing the background checks. They sent me a letter saying they couldn't give me a permit due to some charges that were on my record. When I went in to check it out the lady said "just what do you know about Chicago?" like she had got me. Apparently some guy with ALMOST the same name had been arrested in Chicago on drug charges. You would think the ALMOST part would have been a major clue in the case.
  11. Yeah, back when men were men and the women were too.
  12. I'll have a cherry lime Ricky and a hard boiled egg. Don't know who he is advertising, I always change the channel before he finishes.
  13. I don't know if SG is a pilot or not, but I'm betting he hasn't made many landing at ATL even if he is.
  14. Wow! I saw him at the Punch Line a couple of years ago when he was first trying Achmed. I don't know how much the tickets were but we sat 15 feet from him. Jeff's a funny guy that's been around forever. I'm glad to see him becoming so popular. Bubba and Walter are my favorites but my wife likes Peanut the best.
  15. It would be interesting to know how much of that $250k they have this time next year.
  16. 27R would have been an east to west landing. There was no localizer on. Today traffic is landing west to east. I'm not sure about the pattern Monday, but it sounds like ATC was trying to get them in quick because of the medical emergency. The fact that there was no localizer operational explains a lot.
  17. I'm thinking the malfunction would almost have to be associated with equipment on the ground. If these guys are flying a 767 you can bet this is not their first landing at ATL. What's a little freaky is taxiways are typically 16 to 18 inches thick where the runways at ATL are around three feet. Good thing the landing gear didn't punch through.
  18. Looks like six and six warnings? Is a warning and a bullet the same thing?
  19. This is a 767. There is something missing in this story. These are the cream of the crop when it comes to pilots not to mention all the warning horns that should have been going off in the cockpit. These guys make this approach / landing every few days. Really strange.
  20. I concur. My occupational hazard is my occupation's just not around.
  21. I just can't say. A lot depends on the day, my mood and what's going on. The short list would be Echoes - Pink Floyd, Stairway to Heaven - Zepplin, Freebird - Skynard, Turn the Page - Seger or Metallica, Ohio - C,S,N &Y
  22. Was this called Georgia Jam? Did it start raining? We saw Marshall Tucker, Skynard, Grinders Switch, Wet Willie and possibly Elvin Bishop (for some reason my memory starts to lapse ). The Allman Brothers tried to play but Greg was so smashed he kept falling off the piano bench. circa: 1973
