  1. Nope. But a license is cheap, and you can get one at K-Mart in no time in Hiram. Just get the thing!!! There are some sweet swampy spots around here where I live....full of large mouth bass. You can also add on the trout stamp at any time for $5 if you wanna go north.
  2. It is NOT getting better....in fact, this year I am seeing and hearing horror stories that will blow your mind. After 5 years of a blown-to-bits economy, it amazes me that anyone would say or think that things are getting better. We must remove our heads from the sand, and most importantly, we should ALL rise up against this, in vast numbers.....and SOON!!! Time is running out for Americans. I am continually having to lower prices to keep my volume up...this means MORE work with less pay. I am constantly changing my bizz policies to make it affordable for people to have equipment fixed....
  3. BTW, if you're having larger problems, such as carb trouble, or valve adjustment problems (the valves should be adjusted every 6 months, although most people do not know this) I would be happy to fix it all up, but I would need to pick it up and bring it to the shop, since such work as that is beyond the scope of what I can do on a house call. Just let me know.
  4. What's the other problem?? The only thing I can remember telling you is that I was hoping the gas had not sit in the tank for too long. If you need me to come back out, just give me a shout. We've picked up pretty good today, but me and my master mech have been doing everything together, so they're going out pretty quick. Just let me know if I can help you. Jet man's also a whiz at this kind of thing.
  5. And make no mistake...we miss yall too. It's just tough times, and a provider has to take more extreme measures than back in the good old days. My wife and I discussed this today, in fact. She's bummed out about how things are not "normal" like they used to be. It rips my guts out to have to continue working, and can't just go upstairs and have a family meal like we used to.....ya know..just those little things. Those little things mean a LOT to a woman, let me tell ya! I told her I would try harder to take a half hour break and eat supper with everyone. But, that's not always possible wh
  6. Well put!!! Look for the nearest subdivision or parking lot. As long as you slow down and hit the turn signal, they will appreciate it more than you know! Just don't freak out and whip 'er into a ditch or something. It's a hazard for both of you. Most cops I know would much rather you pull over somewhere safe, and out of harm's way. Just hit the signal or even your flashers, and SLOW DOWN so the cop will know that you know you're being pulled over. Better yet...wear your seat belt, and drive the speed limit, then it shouldn't be an issue to begin with. People tend to freak out and get ner
  7. Free Enterprise was what made us strong back in the day. We basically gave that up when companies took their business over-seas to slave-labor countries. Free enterprise works great in a country who takes measures to keep our own work and manufacturing right here at home, as well as using tariff taxes on imported goods. As soon as that idea is dissolved, then Free Enterprise takes a back seat. Free enterprise only works if properly managed. It's not a simple concept (although people tend to thing it is), especially in a Global trade market, where there are few rules, slave labor tactics, and n
  8. Oh, they understand quite well. The problem is that they think they are immune, Wanna know why Virginia is the wealthiest state in the union??? Congressman, who's salaries are grossly under-reported, given all the millions they receive under the table by lobbyist. Before too much longer, when 90+% of people have no jobs and no homes, it's going to get NASTY. In all truthfulness folks, I firmly believe the next major act or terrorism in this country will be domestic. Mark my words. These fat cat bastards on Capital Hill have a day coming. After enough people have finally gotten fed up with thes
  9. You and my wife should get together. I actually work at home, but I'm always busy working, and by the time I finish up work, then hit the comp for marketing and taking in PM's and emails from clients, they're usually asleep by then. I hate it, and I feel for her, but it's the price I have to pay to keep us all alive and living in a home. What can you do??
  10. I closed shop and went to a friend's house for swimming and hot-tubbing. Afterwards, took in some Waffle House (YES!!!!) then I finally got home about 4:30. Wind down time takes about 3 hours for me....so.... GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!!! BTW, the shop will be open on Sat from noon until 2:00 p.m....I have to bail out a wedding gig, gone bad, over in Smyrna, with some old time friends from way back. Actually, it made my day!!! Taking off early ONE day to go play piano!!!! YES!!!
  11. For one thing...In San Francisco, this is ass-backwards. S.F. was one of the first to adopt a gay-friendly policy. For another, it's just this kind of BULL-CHEEEEZ-WHIZ that makes our country look like fools to everyone else. (Leaving out the fact that we're already so damned backwards it just aint funny no more.). Such LARGE fish to fry.....yet this is the kind of thing that makes news in this country. WTH happened to us?
  12. Great food, no doubt!!! If they only had a nice lounge lizard piano player!! Ya think it's time I called and got back into that groove???? Staying greasy 7 days a week, kinda sucks. At least, I felt like "someone", playing piano in a nice restaurant like that.
  13. Having replied to this last question....I think I post TOO MUCH, on the bizz side of things, yet I remain oblivious to some....wussup with that? Am I missing something?? You guys know...I HATE having to post a commerce thread too much. I mean it gets OLD, right? But, I still manage to kick one out about every 2-3 days....so I have to wonder....how am I being missed here? The Yellow Pages has a google deal with me coming up this month...no need to post over and over (no offense, Pubby...I still get plenty of bizz from my pcom) ...I guess maybe it's just newbie's who ask these questions
  14. VERY SIMPLE to find the problem. Give me a call tomorrow...although, I will be closing up shop at 2:00 p.m.. I have to bail out a friend's wedding reception (DJ didn't come through). Just a few simple tests will tell you what the problem is. But first, and foremost....are you using a cheap $22 battery? If so, give it up...take it back and get a REAL battery...they run $40 with a core charge. Otherwise, your charging system is at fault. First thing to check is the FUSE....there's only one fuse, and it is for your charging system. I can diagnose the problem "dead on" for you for $15 if you
  15. Well....just scratch this whole thing. A dear friend invited me over for swimming and hot-tub fun!!!! What would we do without our friends???? Life would really suck!! Thank God for them.....even if I stay too long and get on their nerves!
  16. Well, you sound like a very supportive wife! Regardless of money issues, he's got a good woman! I'm killing myself to try to stay afloat, and I do....just barely. Although, I do feel very alone most times. I don't believe I get the moral support you are giving him, so he's a blessed man, for sure! My wife gets up EARLY every morning, and goes to work...and I am thankful for that. Me, on the other hand..I get up later, because I open up later, so that I can work later in the evenings. This helps my customers not have to take time off from work to drop off and pick up equipment. However, m
  17. Don't know em...are they good? And do they bring in LOTS of women???
  18. This is my LAST night to fly solo before the family gets back in from out of town on Sat nite or Sun afternoon. Anyone wanna go to "The Station" and shoot some stick???
  19. This hit me hard when I read it. I write out my bills downstairs in private in my own office, and I try to keep all of this to myself, so my family won't worry. Although, it can sometimes be tempting when they carry on as if everything is hunky-dory. But, I still manage to bite my tongue and keep my house finances to myself.
  20. While I understand what you mean (and how people will react), but the fact remains, the economy collapsed under Republican rule, and continues to fail under Democratic rule. There's not a party on this planet that can save this country. It must happen within, and I'm afraid that will be through social unrest, and eventually social collapse, and full blown revolt.
  21. Not all, but most of them I looked into were a LONG ways from home, and paid just enough money to get you there and back home. That was when gas was cheaper than now...it probably would cost you MORE to go to the job than you would bring home...ergo, you would lose money, you don't even have. Fixing mowers does not pay much (at least for what I charge people), but at least I have the luxury of not driving to work (except for house calls, which are covered for the gas & time expense).
  22. Indeed, it is very scary. The only thing going for me is that I have had a few years to adjust to "scary". More than a few of my landscaping clients (who I repair their equipment for) are losing business exactly for the same reason you said. Plus they are having to "haggle" a lot with their customers, who don't realize that gas prices make it difficult for them to make a profit without charging a bottom line price. So, they either do the jobs for almost nothing, or they lose the customer altogether. The only GOOD thing for my business (which is BAD for everyone else) is this garbage E10 ga
  23. Well, my family still doesn't get back until late Sat or early Sunday, so I'm already trying to figure out what to get into tonight! I thought about going to Hiram Station tonight- BTW, my band is playing there next weekend! I sat in with Bent Fender last weekend, and it was a blast.
