Man, that sucks. I'm glad he's still gonna be okay, but that just bites. My condolences to the feller. As far as being on the roof, there are a multitude of reason why a manager would go up there to fix any kind of problem, especially inadequate ventilation. Even if a manager aint trained in how to repair a unit, they still have the training (and common sense) to go check where ever who have to, in order to track down a problem.

I think it all depends on your neighborhood. Sometimes we get loud until 3 a.m., but not enough to ruffle anyone's feathers. We tend to be laid back around here, as long as no one crosses, like a......"stupid line".

You may be right. There is a certain "comfort" in a steady check. I had one for 5 months with that AT&T outsourced company. But, after being laid off from engineering 4-5 years ago, and working for myself on mowers, when we got laid off after those 5 months, I can't say it really bothered me. I was only clearing about $400 a week, working 40 hours a week, and I also gained back about 25 lbs. I just like working for myself.
